Thanks Tony Torques, all the other videos on this alternator replacement were incomplete, really glad I found yours!!! Extremely complete narrative and so helpful with sizes of bolts and insight into difficulties to avoid!!!
Thank you for the video! On my customer's 06 Sonata the power line connector to the alternator was a 13mm, and so were the alternator mounting bolts, but otherwise everything was a perfect insight on replacement 🙏🏾💪🏾💯
No problem thanks for your support! It took about 2 hours the first time 🤔 this was the second time I’ve changed this one, it takes 45 mins if you use the shortcuts in this video
I suggested that but the customer did not want to at the moment, I think her head gasket was starting to leak oil to make it worse 😅 kept making her alternator go out but eh cheaper to replace than get that head gasket done
Mines 2x worse and I have to do the oem alternator on a 06 with 150k. Brake cleaner? Super degreaser soak? Replace all pulleys, new alternator and belt? Is the sludge acting like a gasket? I'm not doing any gaskets. This was a loaded test drive model that all the women in the family (even the "men") were EXTREMELY hard on and I've had to fix since the warranty expired. I've bought it a brand new set of tires 6 months ago that have been in the trunk and backseat. I bought Lifetime alignment at pep boys after I rebuilt the suspension, all they have to do is make an appointment. I know I'm going to punch a hole in the radiator even with cardboard. One guy claims you can't get the bolt out, the other video makes no mention of it. I'm going the remove everything route- tire, plastic, dipstick, every connector, radiator hose 4 brackets. 😢
Oh yea the head gasket seems to have been going out on that car causing the leak. Seems to be a common issue with the higher mileage ones. The leak kept making the alternator go bad so the owner of the vehicle decided to sell it a few months after this video was made.

@@davidpuffer7661 thanks for the support! Glad the video helped out!
I like the part where he was pulling it out, got stuck, paused then tada! Sitting on the intake

Great freaking vid! I don't hit the sub button much, but I definitely hit it today! Thanks a trillion!
Thanks for the support! I want to continue making more videos but barely got any subs 😅
It would be a good idea to put something to protect the radiator so it don’t get all busted up
Yes a price of cardboard or wood would be great but I’ve changed this one out 3 times already so really used to it
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It was very helpful. Also I will like to ask. How many hours it took you to start and finish this job😊

Great vid man, u basically took my alternator out for me😅
Thanks! It was a real tricky one but I provided enough info to make it easy 🤙🏽 please consider subscribing to show your support! Thanks (:
word of advice, sort the oil leak out before changing the alternator, i learnt that the hard way.

Thanks for your support!
Take the pulley off to get to second bolt
I’ll try that if I ever have to do this job again 🤙🏽
Don’t have to go through the wheel well, just reach a little further down
Looks like oil is leaking down under the block there

Oh yes this alternator is pretty tuff compared to other vehicles but if you do what I did in this video it should cover all the steps

Thanks! It’s a little tuff but not bad
