Some great finds today, Gareth. Incredible to see how nature reclaims things. Your passion for this is very infectious - keep doing what you love and looking forward to the next one x
IInformative as ever. I remember this area very well as it was my stomping ground as a kid, and so was Westhouses depots and couple of mates were/are drivers at Westhouses and later as Toton men, were often up at Tibby Sidings. That tree growth is incredible, really.
Prob my favorite video so far, proper railway exploration, just like i love to do, get pricked, stung , ring the ankles...but what finds, looks like a train crew 'bothy' somewhere to make brews, staff eating area and obvs a toilet for traincrews and yard shunters...the lighting/telegraph/lamp towers look in great condition... plus old sleepers with chairs still on them...fantastic stuff, with the great relaxed commentary, plus lots of 'ows' 😂 wel done Gareth, regards, John
Portland....well lets say Kirkby In Ashfield in general. Complete maze of lines , pre 70's. Need to do your homework before you start trying to piece together Kirkby. I even only just realised there is a bridge stantion in Kirkby that i must have drove past a million times but never realise a spur went under it into a sand pit
Lol. I know. I'll be honest, I was a bit worried she'd panic as we're a fair way from anywhere. It's why I spoke so she wasn't concerned about a weird bloke in the woods.
Countryside walks to ease the stress, lifes other challenges, are so under rated.
