- Since UV light cannot be seen by naked eyes, it doesn't matter if a mosquito trap uses real or fake UV led, they all display in blue-purple color.
Many LED traps use cheap blue-purple colored LED, not true UV 368nm.

Surely the whole point is whether or not it does the job. I bought the supposed real one this video recommended. And it was absolute total shit. Thing barely worked. I bought the Purei one out of curiosity and it worked so much better.
So my advice? Buy the fake. Lol.

I also use "the FAKE" one, working so well, killed tons of bugs in the first few hours test. I using the huge triangle shaped one, with 2 neon tubes with FAKE!!! UV wavelenght. Little scary as it has a loud "ZAP" noise, but after an hour it was just fine :)

Like the UV spectrum tests, but that only verifies which one is likely to attract the most mosquitoes to the trap, All the zapper will kill the bugs that fly into them, All of them are "real" bug killers, but only one had the 368nm light
Why do you have to open the thing just to measure the wavelength? If the UV light doesn't escape from the unopened case, it won't attract any mosquitos either 😂
Probably because the spectrometer provides more accurate readings if the light is placed as near the sensor as possible.
I hope everyone know why UVA is used in bug lamps? It is not to be disturbing people by blinding. Bugs are always attracted to any powerful light source - except red light. Red light scares some bugs - like fire.

@@MaximumEfficiency it is more dangerous than blue light, but blue light doesn't attract insects. so i think it's better using uv-a, without staying near the lamp and without seeing it with eyes
I got one LED, actually is a super LED for parties and i can make sure its real, in the party that 100w LED bar attracted so many types of bugs i needed to turn that off.
The actual reading for the last mosquito trap was 366nm, not 368nm!!
If I wanted to read I would not use TH-cam. Stop making magazine articles in TH-cam
it was proven that mosquitos are not attracted to UV light. So it doesnt matter anyway.
A very misleading video!
Being a different light frequently doesn’t make the trap a fake. The slight difference in the light could be slightly less of a lure for the insects, but the traps will still work for the mosquitoes that are drawn to it.
I mean I wouldn’t say misleading, it depends how you look at it. If the light doesn’t properly attract them then it’s a half assed product.
Saying it’s UV “is” misleading, kudos for exposing fake advertising, say exactly what it is.
The range of the UV light frequency is between 100 to 400 nm.
UVA (315-400 nm), UVB (280-315 nm), UVC (100-280 nm).
It's not misleading. I've bought many of these zappers that don't attract mosquitoes at all. Just because it has a blue light doesn't mean its gonna attract mosquitoes. This is a very good video for exposing all the fake products.

it does not even matter if its real UV light or not. all of those attract the mosquito by the light not because it is UV but they use blue or purple light because it is not distracting to use at nigh time in dark places and it will not keep you awake with a bright light but bugs still get attracted to them from the light and the fan is what kills them by sucking them and drying them up inside the container, that is why they are always in places where there is light like when you see them bumping into the tv or your cell phone in a dark room, and if the light is all over and nothing like a light to attract them they fallow the co2 smell from out bodies.

I do have mosquito killer without UV lamp.
I don't have black mosquito killer with UV lamp and I did not buy it is was only on neighborhood house and he only have 1 black mosquito killer with its features with zapper and also it still attract on 359nm (I don't know the wavelength).
so does fly trap machines are all fake missing in only one of them that have positive real for people to buy so if I go and look for that one you test it on eBay is going to be real to buy I don't understand why they stock it eBay and Amazon.
