    Giving Kaspy the benefit of the doubt, I take it that he didn't know it's against the rules to hide his pieces in hand...

    If kasparov enter bughouse seriously he will be the best ever at it. But i really doubt he is even considering playing another game!

    At around 3:56, Bacrot could have taken rook Bxh8, give it to Reizniece-Ozola so she can deliver mate by putting the rook on c1!

    Garrys rating on bughouse would be below 1000 for sure

    5:19 is so hilarious. Not the least of which because the left-hand team has no reaction at all to their bungling.

      @blackmoonset5480 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      what was Garry doing there? did he say "stop playing"? This was really funny even if i don't actually understand what was he thinking

    • @EGarrett01
      @EGarrett01 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blackmoonset5480 I have no idea and don't know the rules of bughouse. Looks like Garry doesn't know them either, haha. Funny to watch it again.

  • @pwells01
    @pwells01 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    After looking at the video again, I have to correct myself. If Bacrot did stop giving check and took the time to take the rook at h8, then it looks like Maurizzi could have delivered checkmate by putting a knight on c2. Both boards could have delivered checkmate at the same time!

    Garry could have crushed both of these youngsters in a one vs one battle. Love you Garry, pleasure to see you.

    • @monsieur_onion

      He could crush literally anybody in a regular game of chess though.

    • @PhilomathBret

      Really?? Could Mike Tyson beat a 10-year-old in a boxing match??

    • @tellahsage6477
      @tellahsage6477 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhilomathBret Chess skill isn't related to age. Bobby Fischer beat an international master at 13

    • @PhilomathBret
      @PhilomathBret ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tellahsage6477 One example does not prove your case, especially when you're using the highly unusual example of one of the greatest players of all time 1 year before he became the US champion. And what happened as he got older? The same thing that happens to most people that keep at chess as they get closer to the peak age of about 30: he got better. And when he was younger, he was worse. If chess skill isn't related to age, then that means 30-year-olds and 2-year-olds are equal in chess skill. If chess skill isn't related to age, then why are there only 2 players over 40 years old in the top 50 players in the world? If you don't know anything about a subject, it's best not to pretend that you do and make up complete bullshit and spread lies. Boxers and chess players normally peak around the same age which is about 30, so my analogy works.

    • @tellahsage6477
      @tellahsage6477 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhilomathBret The difference is that boxing is directly related to physical prowess, endurance, and strength. This is completely different from chess which is a mind sport: what is required to be good at it is strategic planning, tactical observation, and calculation of multiple possible movement sequences and variations. Now sure a 2 year old would not be able to do any of these things (as you point out in complete dishonesty, deliberately ignoring the point i am making), but a 13 year old sure thing can be better than an adult at them, the exact same way there are 13 year olds who are math geniuses while there are 40 year olds out there who are dumb as rocks and can't even do basic algebra.
      To put things short: your arguments are not only unsound but also dishonest. And your initial analogy of comparing chess to boxing is so absurdly stupid i won't even begin to address it. Stuff only a complete moron would ever consider saying.
