I'll only recommend connecting straight to the bath tap tails with your 22mm ONLY when you know for sure that in the future there will be ample space i.e no basin or pan restricting you so that you could go in and easily reach the pipes, cut and re-solder because each bath tap tails are going to be slightly different. Otherwise stick a full bore flexi on, also there's barely any difference with flow.
Right I'm binge watching all these videos 😅, well done on some proper content, shows all good practices and why you're doing it. That's the main reason I'm watching as a keen home owner/diy/getting into abit of plumbing on the side
I’m not really bothered with what people think on how I do my bath first fix/second fix, but I personally poke two coppers out, on all endfeed fittings, (all clipped) horizontally out and then I personally use two iso flexis facing towards the panel on either two HEP20 Or Tectite or something with a nice spin on it. So many times I’ve been to existing baths hard piped and you spend the whole job taking off the feeds just to change a bath tap
Mate you do what works for you everyone has there own way, I was just wondering how others do it. Turns out when I in packaged the bath it’s a double ended bath so I’ve first fixed it wrong anyway 😂😂
Once went to a flooded house caused by a flexi bursting after the home owner left for work in the morning and came back to a house full of water, ruining all downstairs carpets and even getting in the the burners on the gas cooker. What a mess
I was thinking as you commented about a freezing kit, And with the situation you had and the problematic shutoff valve I think the Meter distance from the valve would have been ample to freeze and remove completely a potential issue with said valve in future.
I like the squirt gun idea although I doubt it could pull the pressure up enough - taping around the top of the pipe might have helped. Or the little drill powered pumps?
Not telling you how to do your job, but the cold feed for the kitchen sink, should be directly off the mains, and not balanced cold. As it’s drinking water. Not easy as you don’t want to mess with the old stop tap again.
Never heard that ever, and they definitely didn’t teach that in college. Can I ask why? As the it’s still mains water even on the balanced cold just just reduced down to 3 bar?
I do hope you plan to go back to replace the stop tap once the street shut off is repaired. If you struggled to open and close it with grips then it simply cannot be left like that!
Landlord is basically putting the onus on the next tenant to purchase electric heaters? Or is he providing heaters, very strange as I think there is a responsibility to provide heating and also to remove gas is also weird as the cost of heating via electric is probably four times putting or replacing the meter in future will cost a thousand as I had a quote two years ago. Especially with the money he’s spending on renovation and plumbing. I’d be interested on his reasoning, or perhaps you’ve not fully informed the viewer of intention.

I wish they allowed full bore lever valves to be used for mains water isolation

Glad you like them! Thanks for the supports 🙌
Looks like that stop tap had never been turned!! What a mare!! At least you got it.
It was under the old kitchen unit, I would surprise me if it hasn’t ever been touched
Nice to see soldering instead of crimping or push fitting 👍 MJB Plumbing
Not made the plundge to press yet, I’m going to at some point but not yet
Brilliant edit!
"Hope this goes as straightforward as it sounds....
"What a nightmare that was" 😂
Thought you might like that 😂😂
6:05 this video was shot before wetvacs were invented ahahhh

It’s a dangerous thing is water. And people think plumbing’s easy

Like I said it would of probably be okay just a confidence thing
Thanks
Thank you so much mate 🙌

Possibly, I’ve don’t it loads before and it’s worked fine just that one time I filmed it didn’t typical 😂
I was nervous when you was opening that stop tap 😂
I didn’t even realise at first it would of gone pop if I’d of gone any further
Lad you will smash 8k 👊
Fingers crossed 🤞
I would of snatched that cold main, and fitted a new stop tap on it.
I would of but with it been an upstairs flat didn’t want to risk it
Now then lad 👊🔥
🙌🙌
What laser level is that mate? It looks a lot stronger than the Stabila one, I’ve got. Thanks
It’s a Cigman cm720
Electric storage heaters for heating then
Good video keep going
Yeah one per room I’m let to believe
You'll make 8k easy. 👍 Nice first fix, look forward to seeing the cylinder, what are they using as a heat source, electric boiler?
Fingers crossed, it will be a great Christmas present 🙌 there having individual electric radiators in each room
How quickly would Yorkshire water fix the stop tap in the Street?
Depends on if it’s an emergency, it would be same day if not it will be around 3 days I think

@@SmartPipePlumbingyou can do it either way mate it doesn't matter
Get an electric freeze kit..
Always make me nervous

There’s a new one been put in the boiler cupboard
Ooof electric heating 🤑 should have stuck a little heat pump in would have cost the landlord virtually nothing with a grant
Upstairs flat no garden 😂 guess they ain’t suitable for every property after all
@@SmartPipePlumbing wall mount the beast 💪

The landlord is having electric radiators fit. Nothing to do with me but meant to be high efficiency
Why wasn't the ballcock changed at the same time :( Too much risk to present to the customer in this case (stop cock in road not properly functional)?
Basically that the stop cook instead was knackered the one in the street was no where to be found
🤘😎🤘
