I've gotten a lot of comments about how Vegeta did see Goku as a Super Saiyan on Namek. The classic "kakarot you dog, you did it!" scene. But remember, that was filler. And it wasn't a filler that was cohesive with the story. It didn't make sense, because Vegeta looked clearly surprised when Gohan announced that Goku became a SSJ to beat Frieza. And again, didn't seem to recognize SSJ on Trunks, even outright denied that he was a Super Saiyan. Then again looked shocked when Goku transformed in front of Trunks.
you need to rewatch... Vegeta was referencing Goku refining his SSJ power before he hijacked the ship to find him..
And on top of that Vegeta didnt think Trunks was a SSJ because he didn't think any more Sayians were alive. He was shocked because Goku was *stronger than he was on Namek..
Even in Kai and the manga he acknowledged him. The moment Goku set foot on Namek Vegeta knew he truly had the potential to become a super saiyan
Gohan literally only knew what a super saiyan was because of Vegeta and he denied trunks because he was going through denial for one and two no one knew Trunks was from the future as far as Vegeta knew the only living saiyans are him and Goku and all saiyans have black hair
That way in fusion vegito and gogeta are so strong because vegeta keep training 😂
Vegeta’s power is never giving up. Most would quit after half of things this man went through, but Vegeta just keep on pushing.
Exactly. It’s even more insane to know that if Vegeta ever applied even just a quarter of that effort into learning from others like GOKU did then Goku wouldn't even be able to compete.

@@nguyenvohoanggia7873 Korra was a horrible show.
It's crazy how Super Saiyan used to actually be an achievement gained through intense training and hard work not to mention an insane drive to protect, grow stronger or to avenge. Now Sayain's sneeze and become Super Saiyans.
It’s a shame
And base Broly required SSG Vegeta to defeat him.

"Back tingles, bruh." (Man, that is such a lame way to invalidate becoming a Super Saiyan.)
@@andylukito.yes
The only problem Vegeta has (and Goku told him that in the Cell saga) is that he wasn't able to relax. Your body also needs some resting time to recover after intense and daily training.
Yup. It worked for him in this camp, but it comes back to bite him later on. Like the second time he hopped in the time chamber he got really bad diminishing returns on his gains
An interesting thing is that Whis told him the same thing
They're both like
Chill bruh
Vegeta goes through intense training, but he never allows his body to rest and adapt so that he can reap the complete benefits of his training.
Vegeta trains harder than Goku, but Goku trains smarter.
he don't know about the turtle hermit way , train hard, study well, and eat n sleep plenty
Bulma definitely helped him relax a little bit
The only credit I can give Yamcha is how he managed to live that long under that gravity.
I mean in all seriousness if he had put it down to a quarter of that level he might have been ok
@@Skarnex1337g could’ve worked his way up for sure
I’m laughing at 3 am at this comment 😂😂
If Yamcha had slowly built his way up he'd have kept going and gotten to incredible levels
He also has insane weighted gi on
I still remember the Buu Saga moment where Vegeta faces off against Babidi’s first henchmen in a room made like that henchman’s home planet…with ten times Earth’s gravity!
And Vegeta just laughs in the dude’s face mentioning that 1000x would have given him pause but 10 times doesn’t even register. Then he slaughters the dude.
Pui Pui got nothing on them.
Vegeta not having Sensu Beans is the real biggest flex, cause no matter how badly Goku hurt himself during training, he always knew he could take a bean and be back at 100% in seconds.
Vegeta knowing that his wounds will take months to heal is another level entirely.
Good point
The Saiyans had Healing Chambers, so Sensu Beans and the Chambers are practically the same
@shadowopsairman1583 not even close. One is instant and one takes a long time as shown in the show

Vegeta’s training for the androids was so intense, he gained height
It was the first time in his life that he had people who cared about him and provided him a good quality of life with food according to his training.... I think that help him a lot
Trunks too, but made sense because was still young
Everytime I see a vegeta clip my testosterone increases by 300% and I feel obligated to lift heavy things
I loved this so much. You perfectly exemplified what being a saiyan means to vegeta, the amount of hard work it took him, and I loved the addition where you said the title of strongest changes hands constantly, cuz that's the whole reason why our heroes fight, to retain their title by any means necessary. New hills ready to be climbed, new heights to reach. Good vid brody!
Thanks bro!
@@SensibleSaiyanI just wanted to say there is a misconception about what vegeta's training was about. If you watch tge Japanese version of dbz He wasn't training to be a super saiyan he was training to surpass a super saiyan in his base. At the time for some reason he still didn't think he could be a super saiyan. He was frustrated because he reached his li.its in his base and got extremely passed because he plateued and couldn't get any stronger. That let go crap the English version said is bullsht! Just FYI
@@sonnywoods6846 You're 💯% right. The English dubs are garbage. They change up the words giving us FALSE info. I ONLY watch Anime in Japanese with subs, the BEST way to watch them💯
vegeta told trunks "you will be the best or you will be nothing" love this quote from him because he lived up to it. Nothing mattered to him if he couldn't become a super saiyan and compete to become the best
The sleeper has awakened. I am the Prince of all Saiyans once again!! Toonami absolutely picked the best line to get me hyped up to watch some DBZ
Im currently on a 6 month grind in the gym im even getting trained by someone for this to work and since im on this path I take it a step further to the point I stopped shaving my face and growing my hair into messy dreads because when a real man knows he's not at the top yet you can't care how you look until the time comes to fold everyone and I will do it
You’re locked in
That's why people love Dragonball. There is no end to improving. As juvenile as it seems, I use the images of Vegeta and Goku training in the gym, or on the road during a long grueling run.
Pov: You're awake at 3:00 AM and suddenly get that one burst of energy and motivation
The physical training helped, but what helped him the most was to let go of his mental block of being inferior to other Saiyans. Vegeta has been my favourite character for years because of his persistence and determination to be the best. The depiction on how he preferred to train alone with no distractions is both important to his character and a reminder for us to find ways to stay focused and to persist despite setbacks to achieve our goals.
Yeah what belped flesh it iut was when he talked about nothing mattered but blasting that rock to savw his lifw. He wasnt thinking about competition qt that moment.
i use to watch vegetas training all the time right before i would go ape in the gym #memories
I need to try that myself.

I love the bible verses you end with. It definetly shows age old wisdom which honestly provides motivation.
As much as I appreciate Vegeta’s work ethic, you gotta work smarter, not harder.
The reason Goku achieved the super saiyan form after only training at 100g’s wasn’t due to any amount of material strength, but because of the connections he’d built with his friends and the immense pressure of Frieza looming over him.
In contrast, Vegeta’s training camp is done in total isolation, his only motivation being to surpass Goku and Trunks by matching their form. He propped himself solely upon his ego, and with nothing else to fight for, it took him orders of magnitudes longer for him to achieve Super saiyan than Goku did. Only when that ego entirely crumbled is when he finally got what he wanted.
In short, this training camp emphasizes to me not necessarily the power of brute hard work, but the harm that stubborn self-reliance can do when you’re up against something that you’re going to need help with. Had Vegeta trained with Goku, he probably would have been able to take Android 18 and 17.
Senzus Beam spam to get zenkai spam basically.
Let’s also not forget what whis said about recovery and reducing stress. Your body doesn’t get stronger during the training per se, it gets stronger during recovery and rest
@@bobjones5370this is such bullshit and empirically incorrect.
Your body goes through neurological adaptation DURING your training and your body is at its peak physical strength around 60-70% of your workout. ATP regenerates a lot faster than most know because most people don’t train. Your body needs to recover from the stress of your training ofc, but it’s either absurd or plain ignorance to assume your strength grows exclusively from rest. If this was the case, most lazy people would be far stronger and more fit. The people who train the hardest and smartest are also the fittest.
I’m so over listening to people’s bullshit as an excuse to be lazy.
Training is everything. Rest is just something you are forced to do between sessions due to immune, endocrine, and nervous system stress.
Vegeta gets stronger from rage, pride, stupid intense training. Vegeta himself literally says he believed love and having a family would grant him more power and it did not. In fact, he grew weaker because of it. He tries several different methods to grow strong because he doesn’t know what to do. He was a slave for most of his life and he spent years just trying to get his shit together.
Vegeta’s singular and greatest strength will ALWAYS be insane training, as demonstrated time and time again in DBZ and Super. This comment is rather insightful but it just doesn’t apply to Vegeta, DBZ or any of the Z fighters for that matter.
@@michaelgresham1980 you need to gain better critical thinking skills and reading comprehension my friend. I never said that rest and recovery are the only things necessary for strength and muscle growth. I am saying that while training is necessary it is not the only factor that is important in gaining strength. Rest and recovery are also equally critical. If you constantly batter your body without active recovery such as walking or just simply sleeping your body WILL NOT be able to repair itself and come back bigger and stronger. It is common sense that you let your body get the proper rest it needs in order to become stronger after training and it is ignorant and overly reductive in thinking to say that training is everything while ignoring recovery, rest, and nutrition.
Also rewatch Super. Specifically, when Whis gives a lecture to Vegeta about how he is always so tense, has a ship in his shoulders, and needs enough rest and recovery so that he will finally be able to properly surpass Goku.
I suggest you do better
Vegeta’s tenacity is admirable but never forget that you should only try to surpass your own limits. Rest. Do the mind work. Recover.
Training through cracked ribs and broken fingers will do more harm than good.
thats for anything in life
some people can dedicate themselves more, some people can learn a little bit faster and efficient, some people have better tools to learn
comparing yourself to someone like that can be nice sometimes but I find that it often leads to self esteem issues or destructive tendencies
the only fair opponent is yourself. you aim to be better than yourself. you do your 100% but you aim for 110%
that way you're also always aware of your improvements. your yesterday is always worse than your tomorrow
2:00 Actually in the anime adaption when Vegeta was revived by Shenron on Namek, he saw Goku as a Super Saiyan and then got teleported to Earth as he was about to launch an attack on Frieza.
The classic “Kakarot you dog, you actually did it!” I love that scene. It’s kind of tricky though, because when Vegeta hears later on earth that Goku became a super Saiyan, he’s shocked. So it’s never really been head canon for me
Vegeta seeing Goku on Namek as a Super Saiyan is mixed filler meaning it's filler, but then he's teleported to earth which happens in the manga🤓
@@SensibleSaiyan It's called mixed filler, combining filler and cannon parts where you can't separate the two in the anime. HATE they did this throughout the DBZ anime👎🏽
Yo, selling it with the New testament drop at the end just earned you a new subscriber.
he has seen goku as a super saiyan. Namek arc therewas the moment after being revived he intervenes in the fight for a moment before being teleported and is like, "KAKARROT U DOG..."
Reasons why vegeta is the goat. Goku, and trunks both needed severe trauma in the deaths of their loved ones to spark the transformation. Vegeta achieved it by training with pure spite and determination
Goku achieving Super sayian is trauma for him. Along with mystery boy trunks achieving Super sayian.
*And no senzu beans either.*
This is why vegeta was the strongest character in the show at the start of the android saga, he trained so hard this his base form was far above Goku or trunks. Then stacking the SSJ multiplier on top of his superior base form makes him the strongest.
He went back to being the strongest after his Spirit and Time room training.....until Goku and Gohan finished their's💯
only cuz goku was heart virus nerfed.....
But Goku trains smater than Vegeta does.
Vegeta already saw Goku as an ssj on Namek right after he was revived.
Only in the anime and not the manga🤓
You really put emotion and depth into what he was feeling and what it took. I’ve Subscribed
I'm fired up just watching this video.Great work man!
Credit to Yamcha that he managed to survive the 300x gravity lol
The android saga has always been my favourite, and it’s scenes like vegeta training in 300X gravity in the spaceship that make it so, such bad ass scenes it’s like a private look into vegetas secret world as we never got to see his training inside the time chamber in the cell saga, he really pushes himself to the brink of death no wonder he transformed shortly after…
I always preferred the Androids half of the Androids/Cell arc over the Cell half. It had some of the best settings, world building and story as far as Dragonball is concerned in the series. But once Cell shows up the momentum and plot starts taking a nosedive.
Gotta say I appreciate the scriptural references for each video topic.
Vegeta saw Goku as a super Saiyan when they got revived back to life. He didnt hear about Goku becoming a super Saiyan
Manga is different from the anime
You are correct sir. This is why people who love Vegeta love Vegeta. Dude puts in the work. And that's worth having "Pride!!!!!!" in earning that guts.
My favorite Vegeta line came from the android saga "the sleeper has awakened, IAM the prince of all Saiyans once again!"
In the Japanese dub, Vegeta doesn't specifically say he went to another planet to train. I took that to mean that the scene was possibly an allegory for his internal struggle, and how the intensity of his training exhausted him psychologically
Unless he actually did go there in the manga?
No he didn’t actually go into space in the manga, but the anime did a much better job at showing the training than the manga. Manga it was only a few panels.
@@SensibleSaiyan Okay. Then in my head canon he didn't go to space, it was all in his mind, and the English dub thought we'd be too dumb to get that
@SonofTiamat well the Japanese dub still showed his training in space, no? I can’t speak on it much since I’ve only watched the English dub and read the manga.
He was in space
@@AlmightyGIo Only in the anime which means that part is mixed filler/mixed cannon🤓
Just stumbled upon your channel this morning before work. Started with the goku namek training arc video. Immediately loved you and your content omg this is awesome this is how I talk about goku and Vegeta I've never heard anyone else talk like this something I always say in defense of goku and Vegeta. They're pretty much the only 2 characters who pushed themselves to death literally multiple times over decades to ascend into godhood. It's such amazing writing abd story telling it's perfect. Now you have 12 year Olds getting that power their first year in middle school it's not boring but it's just. Goku and Vegeta earned it they truly earned they're power. So many others it's just given to them
This video just motivated me so much more bc I’ve never really looked at it from his perspective. I was really young when I first watched Dbz so like any kid I’m always for Goku. But now this really changed my pov and mentality. He also needs to do some meditation and relax sometimes.

Contrasted with DB super, this is why the idea of being a super saiyan is merely a matter of a back tingle is so reprehensible and dishonoring of the OG series.

But this video perfectly explains why vegeta getting super saiyan will always be iconic and cabba and others never will be.
