I'm now 53 and I've been in Ohio for the last 15 years and I want to say thank you to you for letting me at least feel I was back at the park that I have been visiting since I was a baby. I have always loved the Haunted Mansion and want to get back to visit it.
This is the best dark ride ever made, and to see the additions with a couple of throwbacks from its days... I noticed the spoons just now from the comment about it below! I was like WOW that's crazy!!! I'm so glad that they threw in some things new after the last time I rode it! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!
What a wonderful 50th birthday celebration! It was very interesting hearing about this historic ride. I can just imagine how excited you were to film this special event! I remember the first time I watched one of your videos of the Knoebels Haunted Mansion and I thought to myself, that is the best dark ride I have ever seen! Great video JP, thank you!

Excellent video JP. I haven’t been on this rides since probably the mid 80’s. Practically everything is different and vastly improved. To me back in the 70’s the creepiest thing was feeling like you went through a spiderweb when I’m sure it was just some thread. When we visit I’ll have to go through it, but I don’t think my 7 year old grandson is ready for this. BTW: You probably know this, but not everyone does. The Packer Mansion in Jim Thorpe was the inspiration for Disney’s haunted mansion. You did an awesome job on this. Thanks for all you do for your followers.
I was aware about that famous mansion in Jim Thorpe. When you see it in person you can see the striking resemblance. Thanks for checking out this video.

Had to check this out. as a lover of haunted houses they had locally around Halloween growing up. This is great for young children to scare but what would add a bit of fright is actual people around every turn for the adults LOL Especially when they'd touch in some way. They could expand to upstairs if this was a walk through one, probably impossible with the cars.
👍Great to see Dick Knoebel and glad to hear he's still a park and ride encyclopedia. He knows the history and has a story for every ride. I hope someone will do a multi-day on camera interview with him on those rides so we can have undisputable 100% true facts on every ride at Knoebels for decades to come.
This was such a special treat to be apart of this and even more so learning all the fascinating info about how this ride started from nothing.

I have been a fan of dark rides since Coney Island in Cincinnati. They had an awesome one there.
