I believe God is raising up a generation of believers who want something different for their marriage. We need to stand up for purity! A Godly marriage is worth the wait. The right man will PURSUE you because he will see the value and anointing on your life. As a woman your worth is not attached to your face, your body, or what you can do for a man. Jesus already did it all on the cross! You are fearfully and wonderfully made. don't ever let a man convince you otherwise.

I always thought courtship was creepy because of the Duggar family but now that I hear from another person about it, it seems kind of interesting. I've dated 2 guys (both non Christian). neither relationship lasted & I ended up losing my virginity to the first guy & was extremely lustful with both. maybe courting is the perfect way for me to re dedicate my love life & body back to God??!

I've realized that the fear that God is running low on good Christian men/women, is similar to the fear that God is running low on any blessing. God has a factory and He's pumping them out lol.
Trust me, God can provide with a snap. The right man for you is likely being groomed as we speak, either that or he has finished grooming and is waiting for you to finish grooming :)
The grooming is the process of experiencing and living in the all-satisfying Love of God. Seek Him first and take delight in Him! Matthew 6:33 Psalm 37:4 :):)

I hear you sister. I would only add that we must deeply desire, not just the strength to deal with singleness, but to know the depths of the Intimacy that God has designed us to experience with Him. This is the intimacy that is all-fulfilling, all-satisfying, and is ultimately a *pre-requisite* to God's Design for human intimacy in our lives. It is the Prototype, human intimacy is the archetype!
Marriage, Oneness, and Intimacy, is a fundamental aspect of the Nature of God. If we ever wonder if God designed us to experience this, Gen 2:18, expresses that this intimacy is simply built into His plan for man, and inn the natural we are designed to the manifest, and archetype, the things of the Spirit. In Ephesians 5:25-33, Paul expounds on the Spiritual purpose, design, archetype of human marriage and intimacy.
Now, Paul wasn't married himself because the wife he desired was not in the natural, and he didn't see it as helpful in his calling (As he wrote to the Church at Corinth he expresses this in 1 Cor. 7:7). However, He was deeply married with Christ in the Spiritual, and in the natural he was deeply married to the churches and believers of the gentile world who he purposed his entire life to love in the way that Christ loved.
Spiritual intimacy with God is the design for our lives, and natural intimacy is Divinely Purposed to archetype this Spiritual intimacy.
Before I desire marriage, I know that only the Love of Christ can fully satisfy me, and I deeply desire to continue experiencing this Love in deeper revelation. I could not love a woman in His design for Love, without knowing the Prototype of His Love - and neither could she love me.
+HeWhoDwells This was a good reminder. I am still pretty young too (22) and fully focused on getting into graduate school, but sometimes it crosses my mind if I am missing out on other things (future husband,traveling, missions, etc) since I am so busy on other callings. But like you said, trusting in God and putting him first will create a more beautiful journey for me than anything I can imagine. I am always excited to learn more about my God and who he is and who I am through him.
dottiEpre you're gonna do awesome! Just know that you are following Him - doing His will, and He delights in you (Zephaniah 3:17). He will continue to teach you to experience and understand the joy that lies in following Him, and being close to Him.
Nothing you sacrifice for Him goes unnoticed, unappreciated, or ultimately unrewarded. And as you continue to delight in Him, all your desires, passions - which He designed in you - will be fulfilled in Divine order.
There are seasons of our lives where we will have to refrain from some of the niceties of this world. I've only recently come to know that God doesn't intend to take us through these seasons joyless. I often just assumed that He did, and I never looked to Him for joy in these times - and this began to make me go through my walk with a lot of drudgery. I began to feel that following God meant living this small, stale, unfulfilled life and I realize it was because I never looked to Him when I needed joy - I looked at the world and envied what was there, not realizing the joy that lies in the Presence of our Lord.
Over time I've learned to pray for - and make my heart open to - experiencing the joy of His Love, His Presence, and His Holy Spirit. It opens a new chapter in our walk with Him, it fills us with Hope and Faith through all circumstances - and refocuses our perspective to Him.
Anyways, I know you're gonna do great, and I pray you will find a nice group of young women and men to fellowship with and experience Him with. God Bless you sis

first of all I am born again, I have let the holy spirit lead my life and I live it out. I have trouble with women who seem to be filled with the spirit, unfortunately I am never attracted to them. I have been single for 18 years so I have had time to meet lots of women that who turned out to be friends. Thats where my relationships end, friends. Once they become friends thats all they will ever be. I am not going to take it further. I think one thing is that I am older now, and perhaps I will be single the rest of my life. I have purpose in life, just seems I am going to do it alone. I seem to be content by myself. Just another way of looking at life.

Hey Heather! Loved this video. My roommates and I have been waiting for it since you mentioned it in your "Setting Boundaries" video. We are sophomores at a university in Tennessee. Over the past few days, we have been engulfed in your videos and learning so much. Thank you! In this video you often referred to women in different life stages/older than us. We are wondering if we are too young to talk about marriage/court? We desire to stay pure and date, but is there a way to date Gods way? We would love to hear some advice/scriptural references on dating/courting in college.
I suggest staying single until God presents a man that will become your husband to you then begin the courting process. but dating is meaningless. so focus on your relationship with God so when the time comes you can realize when he is setting you up with your husband. Its all about Gods timing and when he thinks your ready for your husband he had for you. thats what i got out of her videos concerning marriage and relationships.

Thank you Heather. I agree somehow dating does not feel right but where I live I feel like there is little support for us the single ladies. Its like the older men and women are sharing with us Gods way and when I try to apply Gods way I feel like I am being scolded and not getting the support I need. I hope you understand what I am trying to say and right now its getting to a point where I am really annoyed with some fuatration cause i don't understand what is wrong with these people?

The only people I'd involve in my courtship are the ones that I trust, and unfortunately, I don't trust everyone in my family.
Unfortunately, I agree. There are family members who I know will go around excitly bragging about it to their circle of friends and I just do not feel that they know me well enough to have a well informed opinion on whether or not someone is right for me. Maybe it is partly the introvert in me who does not want certain people involved that aspect if it should happen, but people who always think that they are in the right and everyone else is in the wrong are soooooo frustrating to deal with.

I was wonderfing if there was anyone that you liked listening to or that you would reccommend to a new/young believer. I'm in school right now and I don't have many people to lean on or to look to for guidance or answer some of my many questions, especially those pertaining to the bible itself. I know that we can sometimes misunderstand the true meaning behind scipture and leaning on our own understanding, outside of asking the Holy Spirit and waiting on an answer, if there isn't one right away. i would really love to expand my horizons as well, so I would really appreciate and suggestions you had to offer. :)
