54:22 I guess force of negation is a card that could get me here. Wow that would be so bad, please don't have that. OH MY GOODNESSS! I died laughing. That was great.
55:18 Learned an invaluable lesson today, always do the funny thing instead of the correct thing. If Syr. Roll had Treachery-ed the Pestermite, the opponent would have FoN'd it, leaving him open to hit the mite with shock and killing next turn. But nooooo, we had to be optimal and not try to be goblins and steal our opponents things
I consider myself as part of your regular audience, and I love watching vintage cube too. So very happy to see you play and get better at it over these drafts, and would be happy to see more of it in future as well.
Really fun draft! Lots of interesting interactions and play patterns coming up and some really close moments. This whole cube series has been great, but this one has been my favourite by far!
Good stuff Brian. Thanks for the series. So interesting to see building disruption and mana early and wait to use pack 3 for win cons. May test that out this weekend.
Hard Agree, fetches are good but also the colors of fetches definitely matter, If that was a scalding tarn of a polluted delta, both to follow up with the talisman pick and just because blue is generally a better color in vintage cube, I would understand more. Fable is also just a really great broken card that would’ve fit so good into this deck
Oh god, I used to play Modern Jund for several years (Pre-Wrenn and Six) and I miss Raging Ravine so much. This makes my heart happy even if it doesn't end up doing much.
Didn't see anyone else commenting on this one, so: In match 3, the turn you attacked the opponent to 4 having only 1 mountain and Fireblast in hand, you could've cycled the Shark Typhoon to hope for a mountain before playing the exiled Island. Funny thing was, Robber exiled exactly a mountain from the top of your deck! Luckily didn't end up mattering in this scenario. More secure way would've been just stealing the mountain with Conscripts, like others here have already pointed out. "What they are doing with the six?" You saw Forth Eorlingas in G2, would've been exactly lethals without the Shark Typhoon.
In round 2 game 1, I think I plus jace on pestermite and hope they don’t know how it works as a final swing. if it works it’s really funny, if it doesn’t it also looks really funny
Honest thought - as someone whos been watching an absurd amount if vintage cube gameplay from LSV recently, I really think one of the biggest things you could benefit from thinking about a bit more is readings your draft. I just say this because one of LSVs strengths, IMO, is he so often is able to slip into a deck with no other players in his draft trying to do something similar. Just a suggestion. Im loving my favorite MTG youtuber getting into my favorite format.
Love that you could show how busted library is. As someone who has never seen it played, the 7 card requirement seemed steep at first but that card is nuts...
P1p2 I think I would have taken palace jailer, that card is probably on par with library but the tiebreaker for me is that white is almost always open.
I definitely would've picked forth and figured out the mana, card is cracked and recruiter if you're planning on twinning seems dece over firebolt/saheeli, didn't even hear it mentioned
love the saturday cube vids! damn, Library of Alexandria is a messed-up card. edit: MAN, R2G1 was BRUTAL lmao. I know you acted like you fucked it up, but I think going for lethal is a reasonable play; force of negation is the *only* card they could have that beats you in that spot, since they would have already used any other free counterspell. I guess you're supposed to Firebolt the Pestermite, with the plan to flash it back with Jace for lethal, and then Treachery the Pestermite after they FoN the Firebolt? but man, I wouldn't have seen that but hey - won the match anyways! never punished
It was a better pick than fireblast I think. And later he even said he wished he had a shatter effect. Edit: that said the fireblast ended up being great
I think you're really overvaluing library from its constructed pedigree. In cube post FIRE design it's honestly too slow. In the dream on the draw sure you might get cards out of it, but even then if you aren't affecting the board and playing cards from hand you'll quickly fall behind.

I died laughing. That was great.
Fun line I noticed in the last game. Use conscripts to take a mountain to sac to fireblast
"Wish I had a shatter"- passed an Embereth Shieldbreaker twice.
1:30:38 You conscript a mountain and fireblast them with it
55:18

Kind of sad, that this was the end of this cube adventure. Very very enjoyable and made saturdays even more fun!
I consider myself as part of your regular audience, and I love watching vintage cube too. So very happy to see you play and get better at it over these drafts, and would be happy to see more of it in future as well.
36:28 you passed an Embereth Shieldbreaker to take that fireblast. It looks innocent, but shatter plus a creature later is pretty strong in cube
That said, the fireblast definitely outperformed my expectations in the sideboard. Congrats on the trophy!!
Saturday Cube Content, what a time to be alive
Drink every time Brian calls Grim Lavamancer "Grim Monolith"
Just FYI, that Zirdaa going that late was pretty crazy. It's infinite colorless mana with the monoliths. EDIT: And then first match the opp has it ha.
I absolutely loved cube on Saturdays, thank you for the extra content!!
Congrats on the trophy Brian. Really hope the Saturday content continues, only thing better than Bosh is more Bosh.
Really fun draft! Lots of interesting interactions and play patterns coming up and some really close moments. This whole cube series has been great, but this one has been my favourite by far!
"glorybringer versus can i read this dinosaur fast enough"
laff out loud
Good stuff Brian. Thanks for the series. So interesting to see building disruption and mana early and wait to use pack 3 for win cons. May test that out this weekend.
"Can they win out of no where?"
It's vintage cube. They can ALWAYS win out of no where.
Miscalulation countering Karn feels very flavorful
Marsh flats over fable is a wild take. I understand fetchlands are powerful but you already had some ur fixing in the Talisman.
Hard Agree, fetches are good but also the colors of fetches definitely matter, If that was a scalding tarn of a polluted delta, both to follow up with the talisman pick and just because blue is generally a better color in vintage cube, I would understand more. A pretty exciting league and a fitting finale. So many close calls! And that Force of Negation was incredible.
Oh god, I used to play Modern Jund for several years (Pre-Wrenn and Six) and I miss Raging Ravine so much. This makes my heart happy even if it doesn't end up doing much.
Bitter reunion would be worded similarly to dress down where it sacrificed itself at end step if it was supposed to be a bubble that lasted

Bonus Saturday content much appreciated.
Have been watching
I'm going to miss these cube videos, but congrats on the trophy!
In round 2 game 1, I think I plus jace on pestermite and hope they don’t know how it works as a final swing. if it works it’s really funny, if it doesn’t it also looks really funny

Definitely a high variance card. When it's good, it's often incredibly good. Typically a disappointing topdeck.
@@christopherlundgren1700 yeah but the opportunity cost is also incredibly low for an effect like this
I really love the vintage cube videos
Congrats! I'm always open for powered Vintage cube. Other draft formats...eh
Trophy with no Power!! Library for the win!!!
I'm going to miss Cube Saturdays :c
Gotta love the Saturday cube content ❤
P1p2 I think I would have taken palace jailer, that card is probably on par with library but the tiebreaker for me is that white is almost always open.
More vintage cube in the future! Maybe with a different cube and different combos/metas
You missed lethal by playing Zealous Conscripts taking Mountain, sac 2 mountains for Fireblast.
55:02 - If you Jace their Pestermite down to a 0/1, isn't it the case that they then have an option to make infinite 0/1's on their turn?
When you copy something, you don't copy the effects applied to it.
I definitely would've picked forth and figured out the mana, card is cracked and recruiter if you're planning on twinning seems dece over firebolt/saheeli, didn't even hear it mentioned
Yeah I saw recruiter and was going "If Kiki shows up that's a shoein"
I think without having kiki jiki first, it's pretty hard to take recruiter in that spot, especially with other real options in the pack
That's fair, I was just a little surprised it wasn't mentioned
loving the cube content
gotta say, I woulda picked Shieldbreaker over Fireblast, but the 'blast really outperformed my expectations!
Kaldra near the end of pack 2 would've been a viable reanimation target for Daretti/welder.
Still in the draft portion but how many of these going 2-1 before BnR forces the greatest deck of all burn?
love the saturday cube vids! damn, Library of Alexandria is a messed-up card.

Please don't end the bonus content.
at1:30:09 you couldve stolen a mountain with zealous conscripts and sacrificed it to fireblast
I'm happy AND sad about the trophy.😊😢
Saturday Bosh time
Obligatory algorithmic contribution
I kinda wanted you to take the shield breaker. Does that make me bad or just inexperienced?
Yeah shieldbreaker would've been a really solid pickup. Great sideboard card, and good enough to maindeck in a pinch
It was a better pick than fireblast I think. And later he even said he wished he had a shatter effect. Edit: that said the fireblast ended up being great
Mom, can i play vintage cube with time vault and key? "No, we have time vault and key at home..."
Let’sssssss goooooooo
cube n roll
no more cubes :(
Hello!
Hello!
woa

I mean ... it definitely shoed how good it is in this video
