Regarding "revolutionizes the relationship between strategic and tactical layers", theres a military term for that- "Operational". Soviet deep battle doctrine really focused on that, and IMO its very important for certain kinds of game design.

I saw the official video a while ago and i must say i loved it from the get go. Sci-fi tactical game with implementations of battle brothers system sounds fun.
Waiting to see where this goes as Battle Brothers was was one of my favorite games.

Adding the operational layer to a game, that could be interesting I wonder how that will be implemented. Will it be something more than pick a different node this run? Additionally, since we got the operational layer will it be possible to have multiple prong offenses? How will strategic fires, operation level fires, airpower, or even artillery be implemented let alone balanced in the game.

If all the systems make into final product and work as intended, this will be a really fun game by the looks of it.

Did I miss something or did the let's plays suddenly end? I need that BG3 playthrough in my life, Mr. Elite.
I got stuck in Cologne because of an airline issue so I didn't get home until much later than expected. Hence the gap! But don't worry, it's coming back next week for sure!

I hope they got rid of the static skill tree. Having to spec each brother according to a 'build' is the worst aspect of BB in my opinion.
What do you suggest?
@@monarch8491 Do what the Legend mod did. Partial static skill nods and partial RNG one. That makes your troops unique instead of just a pile of walking stats.

For me it looks like any modern 3d RTS. While BB has its own graphic style, Menace looks pretty generic. And if it will be real-time strategy then it is a big dissappointement.
It looks 'ok' from the trailer, but the quote from you like "revolutionises the relationship between the strategic and tactical layers"....
absolute tosh... it's a point to point to point progress mission tree exactly like darkest dungeon, phoenix point and loads of other simple tactical games.... nothing at all revolutionary and makes me feel you're simply hype-ing for some reason (to get a free key?) Edit: just saw the "Hooded Horse" bit... lol ok.. makes sense now.

Day 3 of asking for planet zoo
For me it is a big disappointment. I a big fan of BB with about 700 hours play time. I was hoping for BB2, but changing to Sci fi means I'm out. Fantasy tactic games are always better than sci fi settings

Interesting game with potential. What is even more interesting (disappointing?) that there's no sign of the technologies that are now coming to the fore in today's combat: drones and remote control attack vehicles. What I see is mostly "traditional" 20th century weaponry and tactics. If the game designers stick to this formula, the game's promise will drop off accordingly IMHO.
I mean, it's clearly based on Aliens so I imagine it's appropriately low-tech.
