This is my favorite shooter of all-time!! As much as I love Doom, Duke, Quake, Half-Life, Wolfenstein, Unreal, Perfect Dark, etc. this will always be my ABSOLUTE favorite FPS of all-time.
This game and Crash Bandicoot were my first PS1 games at around 8 or 9 years old. The nostalgia is huge, and seeing the devs talk about it and play is so cool.
This game was actually hard to find and I never would have if not by chance. It's super cool to just start this game up and play it now because it holds up impressively and it's fun af. I was surprised that they shot live action cut scenes, that adds to it and somehow the way it's so cheap fits with the game in a weird way.
I just ordered this from eBay. Been wanting to play it since I saw the brief little preview on GamePro TV version 2 back in '97 or something, but never had a Playstation. And of course, it never came out as a PSOne Classic on the PS3 :( But I finally bit the bullet and paid for a copy now, thanks to playing far too many EXCELLENT retro and faux-retro shooters these days, like _Ion Maiden, Amid Evil, Project Warlock, Powerslave EX, Doom 64 EX_ and of course _Brutal Doom._ The last couple of years have really, really reminded us all - if we're looking at indie and sub-AAA FPS' - how dang good these types of FPS with sprites and chunky 3D that rely on great texture work can be. They're so fun and fast and have such creative weapons and enemies... at least when they're done well. I can't wait to give this a shot nowadays, in 2019 :D There's not enough love for this game on TH-cam, but I'm glad to find an hour-plus video about you guys actually talking about the production of this! That's so cool (And also, it's real neat to see young Ted Price in GamePro TV and then to see him in the modern day - that's just freakin' awesome to see talent from back then still at the studio). Thanks for doing this, Insomniac - it's super fascinating! Btw, if anyone sees this comment and is interested about GamePro TV's little segment for 'Disruptor' (it's a great contrast to the comments here; they's so impressed that it's got Universal TV production backing back then in 1997, while now they're laughing at props that are clearly whisks and cheesy acting and stuff, lol), you can find the episode here courtesy of TheMADEOak's TH-cam Channel: th-cam.com/video/gCIeHUcOjs0/w-d-xo.html
This is one of my childhood video games. An amazing work of art. I actually did a playthrough of this game on my channel, you can find my Disruptor playlist on my channel. I have had a copy of this game for forever! I recently, this year bought another copy of the game on Amazon for about $45. It is nuts how much more expensive this game is getting, because of it being such a classic.
Wow, guys this video is an amazing part of video game history! This is awesome, seeing you guys sit down, and look at a piece of work you created years ago! This is one of my first ever video games I ever played, right next to Driver 2, and NFS III Hot Pursuit. I know this video game very well. I still own the game, and have been playing it ever since. Definitely nothing like it out there, even today. I Never attempted any speedruns, but other than that, I know this game so well. I have actually done a playthrough on my channel. I know most people don't like cameras in front of the TV, but I had to work with what I got. It sucks I wasn't around when this video was live, I had some questions myself. I am glad I at least got to see this though. I have always loved you guys work, Disruptor, Spyro, and Ratchet and Clank, I never had a chance to play Resistance yet, but I am sure I would like that game as well. Disruptor will always have a special place in my heart. I'm so I got to play such an amazing video game. Thank you guys for creating what you did!
This is the best FPS on Ps1. Very atmospheric and cinematic. Great Levels and dynamic music. Playing it thru every Year. Its the Bioshock before Bioshock with all the abilitys.
Such a good game! One of my favorites on PS1 along with King's Field and Tomb Raider. The graphics, the atmosphere, the sountrack, the gameplay were all great. The level design perhaps a bit less, but whatever. Very nice secret places as well. Too little known, sadly. My last playthrough was only a few years ago and I still enjoyed it very much. I plan on doing an individual-levels speedrun -in hard mode, preferably- and publish it on SDA, but need to figure out a few things first. Thank you for the upload.
Why the Hell do we still not have a Remake for this Game?? Not only is it such a great Game, that was fun as hell to play, but it's also you're very first game, so c'mon, give you're first Baby some Love, we need this! 😱
Finally completed and covered Disruptor after owning it for like 20 years! I'd be down for backing a remaster or remake! Only if you keep the IGN teleporters though!
1:07:18 It's crazy that there is only one boss in the entire game. Samsara Reincarnaition even reused Cyclone mutant as Cyberdemon. They are called "disruptors" to justify games title.
:) One of my old time favorites, and my first game, that I owned on PS1. I uploaded a full run on my channel on hard mode, feel free to check it out. I think I found all the secret places too ;)
Please, if possible remaster/remake this game!! Absolutely LOVE THIS GAME!!!
If Powerslave got a remaster this game needs one too. They were both the best underrated FPS games of the time.
Maaan I miss this game so much. Used to play the shit outta this game growing up.

They are called "disruptors" to justify games title.
I can't believe this doesn't have more views!
Hmm wonder if there was a lil bit of a nod and a wink when the doubts were expressed about spyro being remastered?
I think Medal of Honor did the gun to the side thing before Call of Duty did
Me gustaria que hicieran una remasterisacion
Interesting! That teleporter though ^^ Reminds me of the one in Ratchet & Clank
If you get the drain balls its a net positive
Man if insomniac remade this.
heh, the best way to take out those pirates is to charge the AM blaster run in close and fire, insta kill
The finger is slippery. Can't hold the button.
Por que não fizeram outro Jogo Disruptor "espero o segundo até hoje.."
