It frustrates me when they talk about making things more user-friendly and obvious for players. Part of the joy of the original R&C was working things out for yourself. The fact that 15 years later the franchise is strong enough to spawn a movie is surely testament to the fact that enough people coped with not being spoon-fed by the game all those years ago.
This version of the game has so much more soul; - Please don't let the future games be like the PS4 Version in terms of the bland dialogue and ratchet being a goody two shoes. And i know it was re-imagined for the movie and told through Captain Quark in-game but I can't stand the thought of Going Commando being retold in the same way. Going Commando was great because it had character and great sense of humor- instead of being overly commercialized/serious with an orchestral soundtrack like it's some sort of heart melting-space opera. I hope either Going Commando remains untouched or if it is rebooted- It maintains, if not ramps up it's crude sense of humor & character of the original. I sincerely hope Ratchet will clown on and make fun of Ratchet and Clank re-imagined by captain quark.
It’s weird hearing Ted when he says that the humour has become more sophisticated through the years, and then you play the PS4 reboot or FFA, and... well... Recent games’ humour feels stupid and kiddish. The original game’s humour wasn’t the most sophisticated thing, but was great and satirical, and of course, wasn’t as dumb as the new one’s.
@@ahmedf4523 I think the cringe of the original games add to the humour but I feel the cringe in the original games and the ps4 game are very different types of cringe if that makes sense it’s hard to explain but the original games were more towards making fun of like for example Brittney spears with Courtney gears which was funny but you could say it was cringey but not in a #gadgetron kinda way the 2016 rac game was cringey because they were trying to cater towards what the kids like or so what they thought they like

That seems to be a complaint whenever remasters of games are reviewed (Crash, Spyro). They'll say something like "They kept in the should've-died-in-the-90s cliche of progress being locked by collectables" and they just sound like babies. One quote about the Crash remaster was "It's frustrating not being able to progress because you can't come first in a race," referring to a level where to earn that crystal you have to win a motorcycle race. Uh... literally the point of games is to play to win, you don't get rewarded for sucking!

I rate the Original Trilogy on PS2 and the Quadrilogy on PS3. I wouldn't mind some of the spin offs, but I want to take a trip down memory lane with the main stuff. Also, Insomniac is working on a Spiderman game... my inner child is jumping with joy!

No offense Insomniac Games, but the ever since A Crack in Time was over, most of your Ratchet and Clank games were lukewarm as hell. It's really underwhelming, lack of planets, too short. The old Ratchet and Clank games had the same charm as the Spyro franchise. I just missed that type of feeling whenever I play the newer games. I wish to explore more areas, not just a few. I believe the movie is what caused it to be very weak and hinders the franchise from progressing. Actually now that I think about it.. after Tools of Destruction ,it was where the declining starts when Quest for Booty came out. Quest for Booty was TERRIBLE!! It didn't offer anything other than the story progression. Plus it was digital download only, really hurt it's sales. Where are the planets in Crack in Time? There's barely any planets compare to Tools Of Destruction. Too many boring moons and too many great clock segments! Bring back that PS2 era charm.
Insomniac, Ratchet 1 was literally awesome, better than any of the sequels you made, as is evidenced by the fact that game kickstarted the series in the first place, and for it to be my fave game amongst all games I ever played... Just make another Ratchet 1, or at least do a true remake for the game, including the "cringe" and "lack of sophistication". Most agree, the humor and such in Ratchet 1 was really top notch. It's such a perfect game. It deserves a true remake more than any other Ratchet game, or most games in my opinion, despite already having a (butchered) remake/reboot.
They had no idea that 15 years later they would be streaming this game online and providing all sorts of behind the scenes information. To think that they made an entire behind the scenes mini-documentary on the making of this game, and that they included that video on the disc as bonus content. That would have been redundant in 2018.
I did really like the atmosphere from Ratchet and clank Tools of destruction. It is my personal favorite game of the series. It would be so much fun if the future series would continue. A story where Ratchet's mother will be revealed and maybe a message from Orvus. That would be really nice :)

I totally botched typing in my question near the end of stream when I was there... My intention was to ask if a year in the Ratchet & Clank universe would of been longer or shorter than a year here on earth. That's because the months on the magazines in the goodies menu have weird names like Octogus and Mayjune and I was wondering if those are just different names for certain months or if those are additional months to their calendar if they do have the same months we do.
I have read up on that article before, but keep in mind that the wiki says they're unconfirmed in terms of canon and I was just trying to see if I could get a more clear answer from Insomniac Games themselves on a guesstimate total in terms of days a year is for them. But if the wiki is correct, just imagine how short someone like you or I would live up to in their universe and how long they could live to be on our planet in terms of age given the species.
Whoever your video/audio setup guy is, you should fire him. Video quality is overly saturated and dark, Game audio WAS at a good level while Ted Price's audio is low. Then you severely lowered the game audio.
DarkosLight i would prefer an entire new game sequel to the reboot! Going commando and Up your arsenal are so great to play even now that I don't think they need a remake :D
I don't see how they couldn't continue making spyro games yet they can continue to make R&C games. Both would've been really successful in the long run.
At the time when they made Spyro 3 they admitted they ran out of ideas for the series and they wanted to do something new plus they had to sign with Sony because universal was sucking the money outta them because they had the rights to Spyro not insomniac
