Most items actually add the same durability. Each different weapon just has a maximum durability increase it can get from fusing in total. Whenever you remove a fused item, the remaining fuse durability will stay the same, but it just won’t be used. If a fused item doesn’t fill up the maximum extra durability, the remaining bonus durability can still be used later by attaching something else. For most weapons this bonus goes up to 25 extra durability, but for any kind of stick, it’ll be 10. Gerudo weapons can get a maximum of 5, and bone weapons can only get 3. Usually, the only time you won’t be getting the full bonus is when fusing another weapon to something
Thank you for the data! I truly appreciate it! Now I have to wonder how that works for durability up modifiers...I could probably ask around in some discords...
@@MiahTRTdurability up varies from 3-6 additional durability - this doesn't affect the fusion durability. Durability up plus is 6-10 durability. Fusing weapons works differently
@@MARIOFANMAN So does the unit used for durability go 1 for 1 with amount of hits it takes to break? Like a bonus of 25 durability, does that mean precisely 25 more regular strikes with the weapon is added? Or is there some arcane videogame durability formula in place that complicates this
Make sure you try fusing the frozen versions of stuff to the shield for surf testing as well. I’m curious which is best for a skateboard shield: carts, sleds, frozen meat, or something else. Might be interesting to do a video focused on just shield surfing fusions.
Nice, I also went with the yellow Yiga outfit just because I thought it looked the best. Then as I was picking ingredients, I saw you could use bananas and knew it was meant to be
Isn't the added durability of fusing based on the base item you're fusing to? If I'm not mistaken Branchy will always have a fused durability of 14 hits unless you're fusing something that specifically says it doesn't increase durability like a Gibdo Bone.
You should probably know when it comes to durability generally items give +25 durability with a few exceptions like sticks royal guard weapons gerudo etc except other weapons and a few other things with the former being +there durability as long as it’s below 25
added durability is based on the weapon/shield. the item fused does not matter for durability. all weapons and shields get either +10 or +25 durability added.
You don't need to check fusion durability. It's already datamined and the fuse durability is base on the weapon alone. Material does not matter. Meaning, apple on a branch and diamond on a branch have the same durability.
Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate it! I wonder how many have any unique durability properties...probably not many. I guess Branchy won't be tortured as much as I thought!
You only test, if things can be frozen by using an ice-weapon on them. How about placing them down on extremely cold places like the peak of a really high mountain in the hebla area or aiming a zonai frost emitter for a while at them (just to expose them a bit longer to the frost)?
would it not be funny if they made it so a red splatter covered the ground where the tomato shield surf landed? If they added that I might be convinced to update to 1.1.3 when it comes out XD
It does this in Breath of the Wild as well! I'm not sure why it's a thing, perhaps the spicy from the spicy pepper is intensifying the flame or something. It's neat nonetheless
to make things faster you should just put a message at the start of the next video that says "unless i say otherwise, the shown items break in 14 hits and you can't shield surf with them"
when you said "my blue rock on the end of a stick," I thought you meant an actual blue rock and not a sapphire and got excited that they had some special property 😢

In my personal testing Zonai Cart > Minecart > Frozen Steak > Sled > Base I haven't tested ice blocks or other frozen food yet.
i think butter is pretty good
@@adminbob_ butter was busted to not work. Icy meat in general did work
Ice blocks work yes, but the problem is they slowly melt unless your in a cold region, even faster in the desert and death mount caves
I’ve been curious about what a cart wheel would do. Supposedly (info from a friend) it has 0 friction, so would this also apply while on a shield?

great idea for a series! keep up the work!
I subbed!
Please make sure you don't overwork and burnout.

I think so, yes. This error shall be corrected for future episodes!
@@MiahTRT it wasn’t really an error, just thought I’d try to save you some testing time! Looking forward to further installments :)
Bone weapons add 3 durability (never fuse anything to a bone weapon) but it adds 25 durability to most weapons
Revali’s gale from Wish
Then Fairies are Mipha’s Grace from Wish
This is already over a year old

II could legit watch this for like 3 hours lol.
Nice! Hope you complete testing all materials. LOT of work to do there😂
Me too! It's gonna be a long journey of testing.
This is an interesting series! I will be following with great interest!
So THATS what makes golden apples worth it! Thanks!
Branchy should make a comeback
This video is not long enough. I could watch this all day
Now I have to like, subscribe or something

Great video, keep them coming.
banana + wheat + sugar = fried bananas
I wonder if anything happens to any produce dropped into unbearably cold water
0:28 music?
That would be the Animal Crossing 5PM Theme

I like your voice. Subbed
You forgot to mention shock fruit make ELECTRIC ARROWS, you should test the bow fusion even if you don't include them in the video
I'll do that when I get to shock fruit! Still need to do the other stuff before it, I'm going in the order they're shown on the compendium :)
watched video at 3am
I'm surprised you didn't mention the noble pursuit recipe
good job
this is cool
That's a sus first line for a description, if you know what i'm talking about 😏😏
Perhaps a video on amiibo?
you can make fried bananas with banana, oil, wheat, sugar. iirc
Mmm, tasty!
Glorious to Master Koga
why do chilis make gale force winds? it looks like a glitch

F for branchy

can fruits be burst for any use? like hydromelons could potentially get you wet?
nope, they cannot be destroyed, only roasted to make their cooked variants
F (for branchy, duh)

I was thinking of doing that for the next video, yeah. Thanks for the input!
