Remember when we were all laughing and calling out the leaked script for being fake because there's no way they could ever greenlight a Predator movie so stupid? That was a more innocent time. Can we go back there?
Here's my biggest problem with the film; why would the yautja feel they need to "upgrade" themselves? They live and die for the thrill of the hunt. They *Purposefully* hunt larger, meaner, deadlier prey then themselves to bring honor to themselves and their clan. Them using other species DNA is basically cheating, it doesn't make any sense what so ever. As a young unblooded, a yautja has to usually kill a Xenomorph or another highly dangerous species of prey to gain the honor to be called a warrior. Them upgrading is basically saying "we're too much of pushovers so we have to rely on DNA to get the job done." It's like if a 5 time world champion boxer beat the crap out of an frail old man, and then started bragging about it. That's shameful and dishonorable.
If I remember correctly, the intent was to expand the lore to include different types of tribes that have different honor codes. In this case it's a tribe that genetically modifies themselves. This is why there's a scene with scientist Yautja, to explain where their tech comes from.

Sadly , they kind of are pushovers they allways die and get bested by shitty crappy humans. Even the super duper predator gets killed. It was o.k in the first one since it was Arnold freaking Schwarzenegger and he barely won. I want to see the predator (the real one, not the giant turd in this movie ) win sometime, ¡ANYTIME!

In fact, a lot of the comics I have about them they take on insanely deadly prey, or are outnumbered and still manage to at least fend them off. The only reason all of the films make them look like pushovers is because it's Hollywood doing it. I completely agree though with the I wanna see them win, they could rather easily kick all the human ass in their path.
He wanted to give it to the strongest human on that planet not just anyone. Danny Glover was the strongest human they knew because he won in combat against a Predator. People need to watch all the movies & *THINK* before they comment.
Jabu Tsolo This... actually makes sense. We also know that there are multiple predator tribes. That guy could have been from a tribe that made that suit for Danny Glover's character before being conquered. The new tribe, seeing its potential chose not to give it to the humans. So he stole it. Still stupid that he kept killing all of them. I mean it wouldn't have been that hard for him to be like, "Yo, chill, Dog. I got you some new threads! Ever seen Iron Man?"
He was looking for a suitable "hunter" to give the suit too. It's what predators do, they find the strongest among the locals and usually hunts them, in this case it was looking for the most suitable person to give the weapon too.
Because this movie already felt exactly like it was written by a comic writer. Just think about it. It’s as crazy as some of the Predator and AvP comics I’ve read. (And there are even crazier ones out there)
The whole movie sounds stupid.. In regards to the Predator "XTENDEDEDED UNIVVERSSEEEEE". But that's basically how it's been going for Predator movies since Predator 2...just a complete disregard for existing material.
I don't know why Hollywood doesn't do research group sessions with fans, and ask them about what they would do or like to see in Predator or other movies etc. before making them. They f**k up so many movies.
Well they do focus groups on movies and TV , I've been to a lot. I went to one that introduced that Todd McFarland star trek show. A lot of people in the group didn't like the pilot. Not sure if they listened to the ideas because we had alot
I believe the movie was written for Arnold to be in the pod at the end, but he declined the cameo because it was so short. This movie was a total mess, but I was atleast entertained by its stupidity

My main complaint with the movie was the death of the Fugitive Predator, I wouldn’t have minded if the battle was longer or was nearing the end of the movie. But I just expected a lot more from that pred, I wanted more of that ‘civil war’ kind of plot line.
Yeah man! What the hell was the whole point of the fugitive? No backstory, nothing, why promote him with the red carpet and stuff if he dies withing the first half hour. The cgi predator was shit and ruined the whole movie.

This all hybridization idea could have been played way better and the movie would have been better. Just switch the roles - the Upgrade is a Bad Blood from a clan that's just obsessed with the hunt and wanting to become the perfect hunters, no matter what. They are hybridizing themselves to be better and that is seen by the rest of the clans as heresy. They hunt them down across the galaxy and we start the movie with the normal Predator being send to kill the Upgrade. He's an old, skilled hunter that thinks he can take out the Bad Blood. The Upgrade ship is damaged in a space combat, he warps and hides on Earth to repair his ship. He kills some local military force and that grabs attention of the government task force that know about Predator visits. They send the team and meanwhile the other (normal) Predator arrives on Earth to hunt down the Upgrade. There's a big fight, most humans are killed by the Upgrade, some by the regular Predator (they are in the way to his prey), Predators fight, it's inconclusive but the regular hunter knows he won't be able to take the Upgrade alone so he teams up with the last remaining human, gives him some Predator tech to give him some chance and they both fight the hybridized beast. At the end, they managed to kill it but at a price - the honorable hunter sacrifices his life to finally take down the abomination. THE END. Easy.

You want a genuinely great Predator movie sequel idea?? How about make the story from the Predator POV instead, like predator is literally the main character. We don't need boring humans. Literally the games & comics has so many kind of stories that featured Predator races as main characters. Just take a look & play AVP 2010, Predator's story campaign is the best one both gameplay/combat system & overall story. tbh, it's all come down to the very people that just incompetent & lacking knowledge about the franchise.
I don't think so. What made the first movie work was how menacing it was. By having it be completely from the Predator POV, you lose that. I really don't think there's much they can do with the IP now. Maybe a movie during the medieval warming period, but that's stretching it too.
CosmoDeus Actually if you think about it, the first one was a lot in the predator's POV. It watching the soldiers, taunting them, killing one by one. When the climax comes up, we can totally see what is the Predator's story from the beginning, and the best, it is heavily implied by "show, don't tell"

Predator 1 wasn't good because of the predator. It was cool because it was a good adversary for a bunch of roided out mercenaries, all who were played by actors who turned them into memorable roles. It is a tightly paced action movie full of memorable quotes and moments. "I ain't got time to bleed." Billy turning and facing it with only a knife. Arnie's "come on, do it, do it now" begging the alien to kill him. I don't think the film was even called predator because that was the name of the alien hunting them. That was just the name of the movie. Predator was retroactively assigned to it. Some times expanding on things is a bad idea because the mystique is the appeal. And because explaining means exposing how dumb the whole concept really is.
So the predator was gonna harvest a child? The predator was going to break the biggest rule of their culture and your telling me someone in the first movie was involved with this...dafuq.

SO MUCH stuff that made absolutely zero sense in this movie: Why were they fighting the government who were trying to kill the alien? What did the government want to shoot the science lady for, for seeing too much? But they BROUGHT her to the lab, and she hadn't left it . Who even was she? If that alien wanted to give us a suit to protect us, why did it kill all those people? What was the main guy in trouble for, Why didn't he just tell the feds about the alien? Instead of a single suit, why not just gift humanity basic blueprints on how to manufacture basic plasma weaponry or develop space technology? So aliens want to wait until climate change increases to invade as the climate is more comfy.....but then humanity will just nuke the planet into utter oblivion so no climate at ALL? What ever happened to the original plan of exposing the alien conspiracy to the open world? Oh yeah and the kid who understands all alien tech and the language after putting the aliens helmet on for 10 seconds... Why did that aliens helmet play a recording of said aliens traumatic surgery? Does that play everytime it puts it on in order to harm him or...?

So its not a „Predator“ movie. Unrealistic movies are fine, but when they are against there own logic, i am not interested. A lady-teacher became the crazy killer-soldier, meh.
Crazy idea that will never be made into a movie. An all Predator movie. Set the story around a single Predator being put to the test to become blooded on some bizarre alien planet. Have it hunt a specific prey for most of the movie and then at the end an even bigger creature shows up as the true test.
Well, In the game Predator Concrete Jungle, the hunter goes on a hunt on earth but made a mistake so years later this blooded hunter was forced to come back to earth and kill a new target that had became more difficult to hunt because they experiented on their tech and fallen hunters, from its failure. To think they made that game around when the xbox and ps2 was around makes you wonder why nobody felt it would be a good movie, instead we got Predators and The Predator.

If they kept with the lore out of the comics/novels. I'd be on board with that. Which the basics are, Female Yautja are pretty rare (and a lot fucking scarier than the males). So Males go out and hunt for prized Trophies to gain glory and prestige in order to attract one of the rare mates. They also live for fucking ever, I want to see an ancient ass Predator that was out hunting Vikings, Stalking Roman Legionnaires through Spain, Prowling through Africa taking on Zulu warriors. Or shit give me that movie. I want to see a Predator movie set in the past. Some gunslinging Cowboy trying to fight one off in Arizona during the Apache Wars, teaming up with a Native Warrior. Or off India about the time Alexander the Great got there. Macedonian Phalanx vs Plasma Caster? sign me up for that shit.
I saw that right away and cringed inside. Poor dude almost looked defeated at one point - then remembered what he signed up for! Though I feel it would be a little more rewarding and tactful to at least try to subtly segue yourself back in. They seem like good friends, but everyone has a limit.
I've seen other movie reviews with him in it, and Angry Joe ALWAYS interrupts, disrespects, and shoots down that guy. Notice when the guy on the left mentions people having guns, Joe JUMPS on irritatedly yelling "NO ONE HAD GUNS." And only a half second later, Other Joe says something about it and Angry Joe goes "Oh, oh yeah you're right, they did." Fuck this cockroach. He should let his buddies do the movie reviews, he sucks ass at it.
I just see it as AJ being passionate and excited about talking about the movie. I don't think his goal is to silence the person he's interrupting. I do think he has a tendency to surround himself with people who won't challenge him, probably because he feels the need to be the biggest personality in the room. However, as someone else already pointed out, it IS called "The Angry Joe Show". These traits are actually what make him good at his job. As the show's host it's his responsibility to lead the conversation, keep things moving, and set the energy level for the whole video.
This one was actually a huge improvement from what he’s usually like. Especially in the non spoilers discussion. He actually lets them finish their thoughts
Olivia Mun hunting a predator when her profession was something else was random. The pred-iron man suit was random. The predator killing people when it was there to help people was random.
This movie was so atrocious. An absolute travesty and insult to the franchise. I think this may be the last predator film we get for a loooong time. It’s so depressing to me. I’m so fuckin pissed.

This movie was complete garbage and went against the simple Predator formula. Predator 1 and 2 got the formula right its not rocket science. Team of ultra macho heros are in a war with other humans (serious action movie) ... drop a Predator in halfway through that hunts down the heros one by one until one is left (serious sci-fi thriller). How hard would it be to take the formula ,set it in Africa in some kind of conflict, and get the Rock or Sly to play the main character? The tone of this movie was the opposite of what made 1 and 2 great. Predator is not meant to be a silly science fiction comedy like this was. You can go on all day about how bad this movie was, but its worst offense is messing with the lure. They hunt for sport and the danger of the hunt, period. They're trophy hunters looking for glory and honor. How would it make sense for them to want to upgrade their DNA to make their interactions with prey more unfair and less challenging. Where's the honor in that? It was made pretty clear what their motives were after the first film. If it isn't broke don't fix it. When you're lucky enough that a studio will still agree to make another Predator movie after all the failed sequels it really disappoints me as a fan to see the opportunity go to waste.
Actualy the plasma cannon targets heat. Even shoot 180 degrees. Even in Predator 1 it did that. It alerts the predator in case someone tries to sneak up on him.
So the version we got was all messed up because of the re-shoots. Not saying the original would be amazing, but the original explained 95% of everything. Would have been cool to see the 2 Predators that have came to help (reason they are here is they are pissed about another clan splicing DNA and making hybrids, some of which are on the ship, hence the Predator not wanting the big guy to get his hands on it) The bit Arnold turned down was "Dutch was due to show on a chopper and airlift survivors away, few lines, set up for next film" I really hope they bring a directors cut out, see a whole new 3rd act, James Olmos part and the Area 52 stuff, again not saying it would save the film, but sounds like what was filmed was better than what we got.
Dude the Predator comes to earth to save us. BUT in the process he kills 50 people. Why don't he just said something ?!?!? Or try to communicate with us ? Just share the tech with us, not just 1 weapon (pretty coold tho). I knew it when I heard 2/3 of the movie gets a reshoot because it was "too funny", I knew it its gonna be bad.
I absolutely love angryJoe and all the work he does. Seems like they would be awesome to hang out and game with. My only issue is that Alex always looks completely bored or like he doesn't want to be there. Cheer up man. You're doing something awesome.
My question is, if the humans had the technology to translate their language, why didnt they attempt to use it with the Predator they caught? Maybe there was some miscommunication on why he attacked everyone when waking up? BTW he came to get the remaining part of his gear. He was fighting everyone until the sniper guy gave him the gear he was looking for, that piece that came off his arm armor piece.

It's funny, I had heard a vague rumor about a female Predator being in the film, so at the end where the boy says the Predator killer and how it was salvaged by an ejection pod, I was super hyped until it turned into a Predator Iron Man suit... DISAPPOINTED!!!

The ending was changed by the way, originally, it was meant for Arnold to arrive at the end and say "let's kill some predators", but Arnold turn the role down because he doesn't do small cameos. Also Joe, originally there where meant to be two allied predators (desertors of a clan) but they where cut out in the reshoot.

after watching the movie and referring back to the on set photos, I think if they added the domesticated predators that was working with the troops (loonies), would have made it better. maybe 4 good predators vs the big hybrid and them being taken down one by one until only the best yautja was left standing. the loonies could be the backdrop.

this film draws from the lore, so if you read the books a lot more of it makes sense than if you don't. The old pred is part of the traditional cast, the kid understanding the tech is pretty easy considering the tech actually uses Neurol interfaces which is why when he is attacked the helmet attacks back.

Here's my biggest problem with the film; why would the yautja feel they need to "upgrade" themselves? They live and die for the thrill of the hunt. They *Purposefully* hunt larger, meaner, deadlier prey then themselves to bring honor to themselves and their clan. Them using other species DNA is basically cheating, it doesn't make any sense what so ever. As a young unblooded, a yautja has to usually kill a Xenomorph or another highly dangerous species of prey to gain the honor to be called a warrior. Them upgrading is basically saying "we're too much of pushovers so we have to rely on DNA to get the job done." It's like if a 5 time world champion boxer beat the crap out of an frail old man, and then started bragging about it. That's shameful and dishonorable.

If I remember correctly, the intent was to expand the lore to include different types of tribes that have different honor codes. In this case it's a tribe that genetically modifies themselves. This is why there's a scene with scientist Yautja, to explain where their tech comes from.

In fact, a lot of the comics I have about them they take on insanely deadly prey, or are outnumbered and still manage to at least fend them off. The only reason all of the films make them look like pushovers is because it's Hollywood doing it. He was looking for a suitable "hunter" to give the suit too. It's what predators do, they find the strongest among the locals and usually hunts them, in this case it was looking for the most suitable person to give the weapon too.

My main complaint with the movie was the death of the Fugitive Predator, I wouldn’t have minded if the battle was longer or was nearing the end of the movie. But I just expected a lot more from that pred, I wanted more of that ‘civil war’ kind of plot line.

This all hybridization idea could have been played way better and the movie would have been better. Just switch the roles - the Upgrade is a Bad Blood from a clan that's just obsessed with the hunt and wanting to become the perfect hunters, no matter what. They are hybridizing themselves to be better and that is seen by the rest of the clans as heresy. They hunt them down across the galaxy and we start the movie with the normal Predator being send to kill the Upgrade. He's an old, skilled hunter that thinks he can take out the Bad Blood. The Upgrade ship is damaged in a space combat, he warps and hides on Earth to repair his ship. He kills some local military force and that grabs attention of the government task force that know about Predator visits. They send the team and meanwhile the other (normal) Predator arrives on Earth to hunt down the Upgrade. There's a big fight, most humans are killed by the Upgrade, some by the regular Predator (they are in the way to his prey), Predators fight, it's inconclusive but the regular hunter knows he won't be able to take the Upgrade alone so he teams up with the last remaining human, gives him some Predator tech to give him some chance and they both fight the hybridized beast. At the end, they managed to kill it but at a price - the honorable hunter sacrifices his life to finally take down the abomination. THE END. Easy.

Then the little Predator founds out that the Super Predator doesn't go by code. It kills children, unarmed civilians, and Olivia Munn. So the little Predator battles the big one and it teams up with the humans to take him out.

I don't think so. What made the first movie work was how menacing it was. By having it be completely from the Predator POV, you lose that. I really don't think there's much they can do with the IP now. Maybe a movie during the medieval warming period, but that's stretching it too.

Actually if you think about it, the first one was a lot in the predator's POV. It watching the soldiers, taunting them, killing one by one. When the climax comes up, we can totally see what is the Predator's story from the beginning, and the best, it is heavily implied by "show, don't tell"

Predator 1 wasn't good because of the predator. It was cool because it was a good adversary for a bunch of roided out mercenaries, all who were played by actors who turned them into memorable roles. It is a tightly paced action movie full of memorable quotes and moments. "I ain't got time to bleed." Billy turning and facing it with only a knife. Arnie's "come on, do it, do it now" begging the alien to kill him. I don't think the film was even called predator because that was the name of the alien hunting them. That was just the name of the movie. Predator was retroactively assigned to it.
Some times expanding on things is a bad idea because the mystique is the appeal. And because explaining means exposing how dumb the whole concept really is.

Instead of a single suit, why not just gift humanity basic blueprints on how to manufacture basic plasma weaponry or develop space technology?
So aliens want to wait until climate change increases to invade as the climate is more comfy.....but then humanity will just nuke the planet into utter oblivion so no climate at ALL?

This is what could have made this movie a great movie. The Predator race is pissed that the humans managed to kill two of their own from the previous movies.(So this movie a sequel to Predator 2). So they send an original Predator to kill the humans and battle them out and they send the Super Predator to help aid him in battle.
Then the little Predator founds out that the Super Predator doesn't go by code. It kills children, unarmed civilians, and Olivia Munn. So the little Predator battles the big one and it teams up with the humans to take him out.

An all Predator movie. Set the story around a single Predator being put to the test to become blooded on some bizarre alien planet. Have it hunt a specific prey for most of the movie and then at the end an even bigger creature shows up as the true test.
An idea I had was basically Highlander with predators.

Well, In the game Predator Concrete Jungle, the hunter goes on a hunt on earth but made a mistake so years later this blooded hunter was forced to come back to earth and kill a new target that had became more difficult to hunt because they experiented on their tech and fallen hunters, from its failure. To think they made that game around when the xbox and ps2 was around makes you wonder why nobody felt it would be a good movie, instead we got Predators and The Predator.

If they kept with the lore out of the comics/novels. I'd be on board with that. Which the basics are, Female Yautja are pretty rare (and a lot fucking scarier than the males). So Males go out and hunt for prized Trophies to gain glory and prestige in order to attract one of the rare mates. They also live for fucking ever, I want to see an ancient ass Predator that was out hunting Vikings, Stalking Roman Legionnaires through Spain, Prowling through Africa taking on Zulu warriors.
Or shit give me that movie. I want to see a Predator movie set in the past. Some gunslinging Cowboy trying to fight one off in Arizona during the Apache Wars, teaming up with a Native Warrior. Or off India about the time Alexander the Great got there. Macedonian Phalanx vs Plasma Caster? sign me up for that shit.

I saw that right away and cringed inside. Poor dude almost looked defeated at one point - then remembered what he signed up for! Though I feel it would be a little more rewarding and tactful to at least try to subtly segue yourself back in. They seem like good friends, but everyone has a limit.

I've seen other movie reviews with him in it, and Angry Joe ALWAYS interrupts, disrespects, and shoots down that guy. Notice when the guy on the left mentions people having guns, Joe JUMPS on irritatedly yelling "NO ONE HAD GUNS." And only a half second later, Other Joe says something about it and Angry Joe goes "Oh, oh yeah you're right, they did." Fuck this cockroach. He should let his buddies do the movie reviews, he sucks ass at it.
I just see it as AJ being passionate and excited about talking about the movie. I don't think his goal is to silence the person he's interrupting. I do think he has a tendency to surround himself with people who won't challenge him, probably because he feels the need to be the biggest personality in the room. However, as someone else already pointed out, it IS called "The Angry Joe Show". These traits are actually what make him good at his job. As the show's host it's his responsibility to lead the conversation, keep things moving, and set the energy level for the whole video.
This one was actually a huge improvement from what he’s usually like. Especially in the non spoilers discussion. He actually lets them finish their thoughts
Olivia Mun hunting a predator when her profession was something else was random.
The pred-iron man suit was random.
The predator killing people when it was there to help people was random.
This movie was so atrocious. An absolute travesty and insult to the franchise. I think this may be the last predator film we get for a loooong time. It’s so depressing to me. I’m so fuckin pissed.

This movie was complete garbage and went against the simple Predator formula. Predator 1 and 2 got the formula right its not rocket science. Team of ultra macho heros are in a war with other humans (serious action movie) ... drop a Predator in halfway through that hunts down the heros one by one until one is left (serious sci-fi thriller). How hard would it be to take the formula ,set it in Africa in some kind of conflict, and get the Rock or Sly to play the main character? The tone of this movie was the opposite of what made 1 and 2 great. Predator is not meant to be a silly science fiction comedy like this was.
You can go on all day about how bad this movie was, but its worst offense is messing with the lure. They hunt for sport and the danger of the hunt, period. They're trophy hunters looking for glory and honor. How would it make sense for them to want to upgrade their DNA to make their interactions with prey more unfair and less challenging. Where's the honor in that? It was made pretty clear what their motives were after the first film. If it isn't broke don't fix it.
When you're lucky enough that a studio will still agree to make another Predator movie after all the failed sequels it really disappoints me as a fan to see the opportunity go to waste.
Actualy the plasma cannon targets heat. Even shoot 180 degrees. Even in Predator 1 it did that.
It alerts the predator in case someone tries to sneak up on him.
So the version we got was all messed up because of the re-shoots.
Not saying the original would be amazing, but the original explained 95% of everything.
Would have been cool to see the 2 Predators that have came to help (reason they are here is they are pissed about another clan splicing DNA and making hybrids, some of which are on the ship, hence the Predator not wanting the big guy to get his hands on it)
The bit Arnold turned down was "Dutch was due to show on a chopper and airlift survivors away, few lines, set up for next film"
I really hope they bring a directors cut out, see a whole new 3rd act, James Olmos part and the Area 52 stuff, again not saying it would save the film, but sounds like what was filmed was better than what we got.

Dude the Predator comes to earth to save us. BUT in the process he kills 50 people. Why don't he just said something ?!?!? Or try to communicate with us ? Just share the tech with us, not just 1 weapon (pretty coold tho). I knew it when I heard 2/3 of the movie gets a reshoot because it was "too funny", I knew it its gonna be bad.
Possibly just to make the fight more interesting, because 'alien honor rules' I guess...

My question is, if the humans had the technology to translate their language, why didnt they attempt to use it with the Predator they caught? Maybe there was some miscommunication on why he attacked everyone when waking up? BTW he came to get the remaining part of his gear. He was fighting everyone until the sniper guy gave him the gear he was looking for, that piece that came off his arm armor piece.
For the moment when the POD opened, I thought its a Alien... It would have been an awesome twist to end the movie..

It's funny, I had heard a vague rumor about a female Predator being in the film, so at the end where the boy says the Predator killer and how it was salvaged by an ejection pod, I was super hyped until it turned into a Predator Iron Man suit... DISAPPOINTED!!!

The ending was changed by the way, originally, it was meant for Arnold to arrive at the end and say "let's kill some predators", but Arnold turn the role down because he doesn't do small cameos.
Also Joe, originally there where meant to be two allied predators (desertors of a clan) but they where cut out in the reshoot.
did any one notice when the doctor chick looks at the ipad you see a pic of the predator,1987 she then looks at a pic of the predator from pred 2,,,, but it says 1990,,,,pred 2 was made in 1990 but took place in 97 random i know as they even say the dates of contact with the preds near the begining of the film,,but was ok film but that ending what the fuck,,mckenna will pop up in avengers loool

after watching the movie and referring back to the on set photos, I think if they added the domesticated predators that was working with the troops (loonies), would have made it better. maybe 4 good predators vs the big hybrid and them being taken down one by one until only the best yautja was left standing. the loonies could be the backdrop.

this film draws from the lore, so if you read the books a lot more of it makes sense than if you don't. The old pred is part of the traditional cast, the kid understanding the tech is pretty easy considering the tech actually uses Neurol interfaces which is why when he is attacked the helmet attacks back.
Joe why aren't you a writer? You always pitch a idea of what would have been cooler and make more sense. and it always sounds like a movie i would have rather seen. You have done this a few times now. Yeah loonies was okay. But we should had a cheese action star. I mean Anorld was part of the joy. They should got Vin diesel or Dwayne Johnson for this shit.
