  • My Cu-Mai Nakiri for the TH-cam Chopper Challenge! It's 90 layer random pattern damascus, with a 1084 core and copper shims. It has an antler handle with 7000 year old bog oak, blue G10 and blue pearl resign spacers with mokume gane for a bolster and antler cap. The cap is held in with a dragon pin from the fantasy blade challenge. I hope you like it!

That is a very attractive knife with great attention to detail. Thank you for sharing the build.

Captivating blade. The copper really sets it off. Good luck.

Thanks for posting this, it's a very pretty blade, and a nice recovery from the pesky delam.

Thank you! I remember the words of an old time knife maker. "We don't make mistakes, we just make smaller knives!" SO true! Lol

Thanks and yeah she's a little on the thick side. It's a chopper though, not a slicer so I kept it like that.

Pretty darn cool. Not sure where Ku-mi came from exactly but Ku / kyuu is 9 in Japanese.

It's more slang than literal. San mai- three layer, go mai- five layer, cu mai- copper (Cu) layer.
