No kidding. I’ve been seen dudes get scammed from Amazon and EBay but this is first for Walmart. Personally I get my knives from deals the manufacturers have on their websites or Blade HQ or The Knife Center.
Not really, I just bought a Gerber Dual Force which is usually priced at $109.99. It was on clearance for $43. It was in the store, but they had a lot of Gerber items on clearance. Walmart online has third party sellers just like Amazon. My Dual Force is real, I have watched enough reviews to know.
Not necessarily! Sometimes they do that because they are getting rid of the real deal to usher in the counterfeit ones and sell the new products at a cheaper price making you think that's the new regular price.
Man o man! I got my Strongarm from A’zon about four years ago. Thanks to your accurate description, I could tell I bought a genuine Gerber. Thanks man, you got a new sub!

I had this happen on Amazon like 3 months ago, ordered 2 shirts, one came right away and was as advertised, the second one, same order mind you came 2 months later. And it was a totally different shirt, totally a knock off product. Refunded without questions. They know damn well what they're doing...

Here's the thing if the company also uses 3 party sellers. You have to look for sold an shipped by when you look at the. Information because let's say the company is called Bill's for example. If its from that company or store it will say sold an shipped by Bills. Now if it says something like for example Franks its a 3rd party. The original company Bill's cannot monitor the items that the 3rd party sells. By that I mean they can't look at it to see if its a legitimate item. That is where you the buyer comes in if its a counterfeit or bootleg copy. You have to contact the companies customer service about it. To notify they have someone selling counterfeit or bootleg items. Because they are like for example TH-cam. They have multiple 3rd party sellers there not all of them are crooked. So you have to let them know about the ones that are crooked. Because if you don't let them know they can't take the steps to remove them.

And yes this was before Amazon existed. They were not knockoffs they were real Gerber multi tools. Even broke the can opener opening a can of corn while fishing for carp . Hey Brother. I'm glad I stumbled across this. I have (2) Gerber Strongarm knives. One is black (FAKE) and the other is Coyote Tan (REAL)... Got both in subscription boxes a couple of years ago so I didn't get ripped off too bad. Thanks! Oh, I subbed too!

Very impressed with your knowledge of Gerber’s products. Amazon better get a handle on counterfeit products. This could end Amazon. If I have to muck about, I’ll just find a brick and mortar to do by business. Thank you Lead Farmer. You’re a solid dude. A great fellow American.
Excellent presentation. My strongarm was purchased at full price from Blade Hq whom I trust and have been a customer for years. My strongarm is a 100% genuine Gerber made product.
Good heads up video! I got a fake for $40 on Christmas special. However, I don't regret it. I beat the hell out of it amd its in tact, tough as hell. Good sharpness, I believe it's 440hc. Fixed the grind on it, very uneven, but after fixing it its sharp
I got the $89 green one otw from amazon expected tomorrow. I bought the obvious $20 fake one to check the feel and look and immediately bought the Gerber…I hope it’s ok. Thanks for the tips! I’m also a horticulturist and will subscribe
Got the Gerber today and all good! Very very nice. Hefty thick blade. Maybe the sharpest knife I’ve ever had. Sheath fits crisp and holds fast. Definitely my main fixed blade and regular woods knife. Did not come in insert in box or bubble wrap but just all bagged in a paper tray box in the Gerber box but everything proper Gerber…numbers, instructions and warranties etc… Thanks again for the info
This happened to me with a Benchmade saddle mountain skinner and a Gerber strong-arm way back. You’re correct there are slight differences in them. I have the real knives of both and I keep the fakes to send pictures to others of the differences. I’m sure you’ll get this resolved quickly.
You have to be careful I bought a gerber multi-tool and it's not even as strong as the harbor freight multi-tool the Gerber multi-tool broke when I tried to use the pliers. I would never buy another Gerber product because I don't know which one is real and which one is it. I have five different multi tools including two leatherman's. You just helped me keep my conviction not to buy Gerber.
I bought a gerber knife in the 80s and they had a side lock and the lock didn't hold. My brother in law tried to chip ice with it and the knife folded and cut the last knuckle off his pinkie finger and gerber wouldn't send a lawyer they wanted my sister to send the knife (evidence) to them!luckily my brother in law was able to have it reattached!
I play guitar and there's that kind of crap going on with guitars too. Where you are told that the guitar is a classic and is worth a certain amount of money only to find out it's fake. It's really prevalent in like the Gibson or Fender guitars. Like you said, buyer beware.
I know it's not the same but I bought a schrade sch2 the spear point version not the cool bowie but still a good knife The only difference between the original is the packaging slightly different because of the handover The new owners were gracious enough to sell off the remaining stock. But to keep their costs down they changed to cheaper packaging
I totally understand why you're so upset, we live in a crappy time. The internet isn't all good... You're talking about third party sellers, that's right, that's a big problem. If the GERBER Strongarm was as cheap here in Germany as you say, I would have most likely been scammed too. I would have done the same and ordered a few. Man, thanks for sharing your experience and warning people! Greetings from Germany! Torsten
Thank you for the breakdown. Seemed like multiple issues in the number two slot there but all good to know. between knives and tennis shoes, the fakers are getting pretty good.
god bless u. i truly collect knives. and i got screwed on the amazon Kbar too... i can't stand spending real money for something, and just cus they wanna LIE on the packaging, they get our money! it pisses me OFF. thats why my painted pony Bucks are so special to me. no one fakes those as far afaik.. and when i buy i knife, unless i'm purposely buying a wall hanger.. i expect to DEPEND on these knives... that's why idc if ppl say their rat tail tangs or whatever. they've NEVER failed me if i dont abuse the tip, so i respect and LOVE legit Buck knives... plus they lifetime warantee. i knew a guy who got a KO, and they STILL honored the warantee... i LOVE Buck...
I know a guy who will rename nameless, but he told me he bought a fake bugout off of Wish, knowing it’s a fake of course, and he eventually got it after like a month, and he actually took it to cabellas, and exchanged it for a real one. I would hate to think that they then resold that fake, cuz I bought a bugout from the exact location like a year after this. I can tell the difference, especially the packaging and branding. But still, you gotta be careful out there. Thanks for sharing
2:30 You just explained the problem - Walmart. They are shady AF and do not care about their customers, which is why we haven't shopped Walmart since the '90s.
My wife once bought all of us Gerber paraframe folders, though allegedly new what we received were second hand, having been (badly) sharpened. I buy from specialty retailers now
You're not stupid man! You trusted that you were getting the product you wanted and found out that it wasn't. It is so hard anymore to ensure that you are getting what you paid for. I would contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) because they are the ones that are trying to crack down on name brand knock-offs. It happens in the fashion industry all the time. They can't do anything about it if they don't know about it. So sorry dude. I'd be pissed too!
I stopped buying commercial knives. Gerber, buck , oldtimer and case. They all use the steel that stays shiny. Won't hold a edge like the old ones that the blade turns dark. The new ones are hard to sharpen. I started getting the hand forged. They hold and edge and will last a lifetime. They are a little more pricey butt worth the money.
The number of scammers selling counterfeit knives is pretty depressing but worse is the lack of interest by FB, YT, IG et. al. in policing the scammers.
Should be a class action lawsuit against Amazon, Walmart and EBay for promoting fake knockoffs.

I’m glad u made this video. I grabbed my Gerber Strong arm as soon as u showed the knife. My knife is original and wow. Yours is cheap cheap made.
Thanks, brother, God bless you for exposing these frauds.
Such a disappointment but people across the ocean will dupe handbags, guns, clothes and anything else they can dupe. I feel bad for Gerber.
many counterfeits are being shipped to the USA, including counterfeit Gold and Silver !
Thanks for the heads up. Great video sir.
HEY kislux I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
This is a great PSA (public service announcement).. Got me to sub.. Thx.
This is why they make it small when they brought that in you didn't know it and you was ordering things and you thought you was ordering it from them but you was ordering it from a third party you got me like that one time that's why I watch everything I order now I have to know where it came from
Very impressed with your knowledge of Gerber’s products.
Amazon better get a handle on counterfeit products. This could end Amazon. If I have to muck about, I’ll just find a brick and mortar to do by business. Thank you Lead Farmer. You’re a solid dude. A great fellow American.
Hey thanks buddy for your help and knowledge this is so out of hand hate scammers god bless you sir
Lead, always looking out for us! Thank you! 💕🎉
you are so very welcome
I got the $89 green one otw from amazon expected tomorrow. I bought the obvious $20 fake one to check the feel and look and immediately bought the Gerber…I hope it’s ok.
Thanks for the tips!
I’m also a horticulturist and will subscribe
Got the Gerber today and all good! Very very nice. Hefty thick blade. Maybe the sharpest knife I’ve ever had. Sheath fits crisp and holds fast. Definitely my main fixed blade and regular woods knife. Did not come in insert in box or bubble wrap but just all bagged in a paper tray box in the Gerber box but everything proper Gerber…numbers, instructions and warranties etc…
Thanks again for the info
This happened to me with a Benchmade saddle mountain skinner and a Gerber strong-arm way back.
You’re correct there are slight differences in them. I have the real knives of both and I keep the fakes to send pictures to others of the differences.
I’m sure you’ll get this resolved quickly.
Great information!👍
I saw a buck 110 folding hunter that was made as an auto. $29.
I got a miniature example that was not an auto. All i can say it was extremely sharp.
It happens more than you think. I still didn't get the product I bought in June. So I went to the store, got MY money at Walmart. Be aware
So many online stores have become open marketplaces. Anyone can sell on most marketplaces. Amazon, Walmart, Target, Home Depot…
Brother, thank you for pointing out all the scam from the third party. 👍👍👍👍👍🔥
I know it's not the same but I bought a schrade sch2 the spear point version not the cool bowie but still a good knife The only difference between the original is the packaging slightly different because of the handover The new owners were gracious enough to sell off the remaining stock. But to keep their costs down they changed to cheaper packaging
Good info bro. You should do one for the Gerber Machete too. The serial number on those have 9 numbers and ends with E1.
Thanks for the heads up.
god bless u. i truly collect knives. and i got screwed on the amazon Kbar too... i can't stand spending real money for something, and just cus they wanna LIE on the packaging, they get our money! it pisses me OFF. thats why my painted pony Bucks are so special to me. no one fakes those as far afaik.. and when i buy i knife, unless i'm purposely buying a wall hanger.. i expect to DEPEND on these knives... that's why idc if ppl say their rat tail tangs or whatever. they've NEVER failed me if i dont abuse the tip, so i respect and LOVE legit Buck knives... plus they lifetime warantee. i knew a guy who got a KO, and they STILL honored the warantee... i LOVE Buck...
Sorry you were scammed, however, if you weren't scammed, I would have never seen this vid and found you to be so damn entertaining. A new sub.
DAMNIT!!! I have like 5 strongarms…. I bought two others and found one was fake and now I see both were fake…thanks for the heads up my friend.
Im boycotting Amazon now, I need to see the product first...
Thanks for the warning, and sorry it happened to you.
All the best.

You just explained the problem - Walmart.
They are shady AF and do not care about their customers, which is why we haven't shopped Walmart since the '90s.
My wife once bought all of us Gerber paraframe folders, though allegedly new what we received were second hand, having been (badly) sharpened. I buy from specialty retailers now
I briefly worked at a us based archery equipment company and know amazon doesn't care at all about counterfeits being sold on their site.
Thank you for sharing! This will help many potential Buyers make a good decision and purchase. Well done! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
clearance says it all, walmart, amazon ebay...
This is becoming a huge problem! I've seen so many knock-off Benchmade, Gerber, Zero-Tolerance, Kershaw, CRKT, etc, etc. . . for sale online.
Third party dealers are ripping consumers off. Happened to me with the Riptstick. Not buying anything online ever again.
I have a fondness for knives ( ever since I got my first pocket knife at about 7) thank you for the warning!
What do you recommend as an alternative to the strongarm?
I stopped buying commercial knives. Gerber, buck , oldtimer and case. They all use the steel that stays shiny. Won't hold a edge like the old ones that the blade turns dark. The new ones are hard to sharpen. I started getting the hand forged. They hold and edge and will last a lifetime. They are a little more pricey butt worth the money.
The number of scammers selling counterfeit knives is pretty depressing but worse is the lack of interest by FB, YT, IG et. al. in policing the scammers.
Thanks for the heads up and the video.
Fine vid Sir. Just subbed. Great info.
