I’ll keep saying it every chance I get: if you’re a fan of the original Alien and/or a fan of horror games, you should absolutely play this game. It’s such a fantastic love letter to that original movie. In fact I’d say it feels more like a sequel to it than Aliens does (although a I do love that movie too). Sorry but this game was announced and I heard about it I didn't search for it and I knew about it. You're just not searching for gaming news daily like I am.
Great job on the port. I wish all Switch owners an amazing time with it. However, since they have managed to implement (much needed) temporal AA into the engine, there is absolutely no excuse for the pc, ps4 and xone versions not to be patched with it as well.
Feral Interactive is becoming one of my favorite developers. I was playing the Switch port of Grid just before I watched this video and loving it. They do fantastic work and I'm looking forward to Alien Isolation. Definite cool points for supporting gyro aiming. Maybe they could talk to the Doom 3 guys and explain to them why gyro aiming should have been in the Switch port when it debuted.
Also enjoying GRID Autosport on Android. Smoother 30FPS on mobile. Even on The S8 it's very stable however 60FPS is off the cards on the S8 though the graphics mode is still offering the same settings as on Switch and better mobile hardware. The Galaxy S8 is also officially supported according to the game's developer. Basically as I said before Switch launched and after the S8 hit shelves one month after Nintendo Switch did; mobile phones are just as powerful as Switch. It must also be said that even older cheaper phones like the LG V30 will run GRID Autosport as well but performance may be lacking there... Oddly even with the 70% limit on CPU performance GRID played at a stable 30hz on a Samsung Galaxy S8. Battery life is worse on the S8 than on the new Switch but that's to be expected on a 3,000mAh battery. Asphalt 9 runs for 3:40 on the S10+ fully maxed out 60FPS competitive with the new more efficient Switch models.
Yup! Seems like a this point, the only real issue with switch games are capacity storage on the game cards. I hope nintendo made the 64gb the minimun storage capacity, so devs can use it at will.
This is a fascinating comparison. Modern temporal AA techniques have introduced their own, new artifacts to rendering, but it can't be overstated how nice it is that they've essentially eliminated aliasing and shimmering in many games. And I have no doubt that as they improve and the processing gets faster, those temporal artifacts will diminish over time (har har).
Between GRID and this it is clear Feral Interactive is a force to be reckoned with, and that they truly care about their ports. Support the devs and show the market that we are in fact impressed by fantastic ports like this!
Two things: 1) Thank you Feral. If only others took this much care when porting titles to Switch (looking at you, Capcom). 2) Physical edition PLEASE! Would totally double dip on Switch but the lack of physical is just ugh. A title (and port) like this deserves better treatment.
Limited Run Games has now announced a physical release for the sci-fi survival horror game Alien: Isolation. This hard copy will include all of the DLC and will be available to pre-order between 26th May and 9th June.
If I may make a suggestion; play with headphones on. The sound design goes a long way with the game’s atmosphere, adding to how tense it is, and is arguably the highlight of the game itself.
RandomShinigami7 Does the Switch support headphones or inears with surround sound? I only have normal stereo inears and that official PS4 Gold Surround Headphone but I guess the latter can’t be made to work on Switch. You think the sound would be enough with stereo headphones?
I love that they keep releasing great games like this for the Switch. Haven't played Isolation since it launched, and can't wait to get back onto the Nostromo.
I have so much to say about how beautifully executed this game was and how it just worked out so well in every way they planned it to. This game will speak for it self and it’s worth the $35 on switch which includes all DLC. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with this one
A few months ago when the Switch port was announced, I just brushed it off. I honestly didn't think that they could pull this off. But Feral put serious work in and the results speak for themselves. I'm just so excited in playing this game again - and in style.
The editing in this video is so good. I particularly loved the strings when you were zoomed in on switching between AO on PS4 and Switch. And also the "ring the bell" at the end. Good job!
I played and loved this on PS3. I had no complaints at the time about image quality or performance, I was completely blown away. I’ve been holding off replaying it until VR is totally nailed down (there’s no other game I’ve ever so wanted to play in VR), but this port is very tempting.
The sound design for alien isolation is so good, especially the little chunking and punching of devices and mechanisms Amanda interacts with. They sound so satisfyingly functional
Amazing! nice AA solution. DF, do Saint's Row the third after the new patch, they added dynamic resolution etc. Also- the new AC Rebel Collection that's gonna come out on switch!
It really depends on the implementation, motion blur's image suffers from its poor implementation back when it was first introduced, just like bloom. This was addressed in another DF video, not sure whether it had "Motion Blur" in its title or not.
Well tickle my butthole with a feather. I'm definitely gonna buy it on my Switch despite having it on PS4 Pro and PC. Thanks DF for the amazing breakdown. 'Murica.
Excellent work as usual John. Glad to hear you love A:I. I've been gaming for 30 years and this is my favourite game (and movie in regards to Alien) of all time. I would love to see you do a deep dive on the game in the future. The switch port looks excellent. The anti-aliasing always ruined the excellent visuals even at 4K on PC but thankfully that was fixed with the amazing ALIAS ISOLATION mod a few years back.
Honestly, this makes me wish that Nintendo's first party games started implementing proper AA technology. if the switch 2 could only output 1080p and 1440p when docked, the games could probably still stand up against next-gen if the processor could handle these AA solutions.
I think having 720p in handheld is perfectly acceptable to save on battery life. I agree that docked should output 1440p and that Nintendo should make a switch 2 a few years later rather than a switch pro.
didnt scare me at first tbh... then i replayed on nightmare mode YIKES! having a jankier motion sensor and way more aggressive alien definitely changes the entire game and makes it what it should be imo. much tenser and much scarier
I compared loading time in Breath of the Wild on regular Switch, and the Switch Lite. My Switch light loads about 10 seconds faster......which stacks up into hours of saved time if you play enough. Also the game looks better on the Switch Lite.
I recently purchased a Switch Oled and, being a fan of the Alien saga, I could not miss this game. I've been playing videogames since the 90s and I think I've never played a game that makes me anxious like Alien Isolation does.
I look forward to every new video on the channel--you guys' content is just simply amazing. I have a couple suggestions: a "music used" list like John does for DF Retro and a simple pop-up displaying the name of a game that appears on screen, like Astral Chain in this video. (The TH-cam channel "Game Maker's Toolkit" does the latter excellently.) Keep up the awesome work!
Man this makes me want to replay the game. Everyone with a Switch needs to get this game! Im glad the port looks so great, too. I am also glad this port proves the point that pixel count is simply not the most important thing moving forward. Hyper focusing on native 4k next generation is going to hold games back from achieving next-level realism and simulation. With advanced reconstruction techniques we can have incredible IQ and save all that raw pixel power for more important things.
@Brandon Landry Playing Alien Isolation amongst other games on the go is what impresses most people. This in itself demonstrates how good the hardware is to people.
Here’s hoping they can find the time to backport some of the Switch enhancements to PS4. TAA alone would be enough, but the chromatic aberration option and dynamic resolution would be nice to have as well.
Very impressive! It may sound superficial, but on PS4, this was a rare example where image quality (horrible shimmering and very washed out image) actually distracted me too much to go on playing. It also released rather early in this generation, so it really didn't do my expectations to a modern game justice in that regard. It rather felt like a Vita game (because they were usually sub-native) than a high-end blockbuster. Now that I think of it, DriveClub had similar issues back then. TAA imo is the best and most important graphical feature of this generation, and its lack five years ago was a real shame. As to this port: Feral Interactive absolutely nailed their priorities.
It still blows my mind how these amazing looking games from just a few years ago are now running on a frickin' hand-held! Technology is a frickin' miracle!
It's not that the PS4 version is bad, it's just that it was made before techniques like TAA were commonplace, resulting in the team using a lower-quality AA method and thus more visible aliasing. The PS4 version still has superior visuals overall, it's only the AA method that's better on Switch.
Alien Colonel Marines made me feel a certain way, Alien Isolation redeems my emotions, its the best Alien game out there.. so immersive, moody n all the good stuff.
When Switch delivered last-gen console graphics to mobile, it was impressive. When it delivered current-gen graphics, it was awesome. When it got DOOM, it was mind blowing. When it got Witcher 3, it was unbelievable. I'm heading out for therapy now.
I don't consider Doom and Witcher mind blowing. They were what everyone expected. Waterd down ports with notably reduced quality and bad frame rate. With Witcher looking worse than a last gen game. Hell Witcher 2 on 360 literally looks better than 3 on switch. Glad switch is an option, but they need to make a stronger one
Oh, yes. Before Alias: Isolation the quality was rough even with 4xSSAA enabled. (Which made performance pretty much unplayable.) For the lighting and set design of Alien, TAA was really needed.
Damn, I played it on PC and it bothered me a lot but I couldn't find a solution for it at the time. Guess I'll replay it with mods someday, it was a great game. Thanks for the info!
I turned off any AA and just ran the game at 4k scaled down to 1080, then ghier was no shimmering or stepping. I forgot what Nvidia calls the setting but it's one of the things you have to set up in the specific games profile. I believe it is enable Super Resolution, then pick a res to render the game at.
Yup, that can work too. AMD has the same thing. However, it doesn't really work for me, as input lag increases and the game feels like slow motion sadly.
Good to hear they didn't re-encode the music/sound design at lower bitrates for this port. That tends to be rather commonplace in these 'impossible' Switch ports, so I'm glad they didn't downgrade there. Bravo, Feral!
At 9.50 in the video DF said it's not accurate to say its superior than its other console counterparts, its missing a few details and takes longer to load, maybe you did hear that part.
dock gamer Yes, concessions were inevitable, but I’m talking about Image Quality, which is 90% of the time than more minute details like Ambient Occlusion
I am so tempted to get this on the switch, I watch people play the game ever since it first came out but am too chicken to play it myself but after finally watching all the Alien films I feel like I could play it, inside a locker lol, I'm just worried it would look bad, I got a game not long before Xmas and I paid £45 for it and it's bad, It's like watching a video on youtube a 144p, Now I just really 2nd Guess myself when getting a game on the switch, that was original on PC and ps4
2010 aliens vs predator game for ps3/Xbox 360 will still always hold a special place in my heart 😅 I played that after watching the movie and the pyramid level blew me away at the time lol This game is my second favorite because graphics look amazing and the setting was top notch but I do believe both games are due for a remaster
@@nighttimestalker isn't TAA only for effects? Again that comes down to rendering, and those don't apply to textures specifically, it has to do with processing power. Slower processing and your renderer shows edges in scaling, but with a fast enough GPU/CPU, and with a screen that accommodates 60+ (100+ is more ideal in digital applications), you wouldn't notice happening with a high quality texture map. At least this is how I interpret it.
The technology behind this game is fascinating. I applaud the developers behind this game because even today it stands out greatly over many different rendering engines.
Looks great on Switch but the input lag makes it close to unplayable. Just a warning for anyone thinking of buying the game based on the strength of this review (as I unfortunately did).
It really is impressive how great this looks, it’s very blurry and smooth but not in a bad way, usually I hate that look but with this game’s art style it looks amazing and it completely removes the shimmer, it looks much more immersive snd nice than PS4.
I would strongly disagree... Despite the lack of shimmering, you see more text and more detail overall on PS4 while the switch version looks a bit too blurry and flat. Saying switch is more asthetically pleasing because of this is nonsensical or at the very least, ignorant. On PS4 I can make out the better lighting and detail on the board and the Giant lock on the door whereas on switch it's very flat and doesn't stick out. Basically, having a blurry image can make a game stand out less when it comes to detail and objects like those. Sure you don't see the shimmering but you also sacrifice the lighting and detail that comes along with it. It'd be nice if we could have that antialiesing mode on PS4 because in my opinion, blurriness doesn't equate to a better image or presentation whatsoever. Same applies to doom, you can't just set any PC game to 540p and add strong antialiesing and expect it to look Amazing. A lot of detail is lost from that aggressive softening and antialiesing. Of course that's a more drastic example but you know what I mean. I really don't like how digital foundry inserts these random obscure hottakes and using their profession as a means of taking ahold of public perception on graphics in video games. I really don't think you guys are in position or at the very least, shouldn't be abusing your status this way. You shouldn't tell people a game looks bad and pretend you're being all objective because you don't agree or like it's visuals. Pretty much everyone agrees KH3 looks gorgeous and you guys bafflingly treated it like it was this middling and controversial visual experience which was not at all the case and shows your naivity when it comes to more fantasy oriented art styles and your strange standards that aren't really relevant to a games presentation. I would prefer it if you remain objective and not assert anything when doing a tech analysis on a game. It'd be best if you just state the games resolution, performance and other relevant aspects that are noteworthy about the game. No one watches you for your hottakes DF, we watch you for the facts. Your opinions get in the way of the videos and sometimes makes them downright unwatchable.
But let's not forget the pc version actually hits over 200 fps on ultra settings for even older pcs. They did such a good job with this games optimization
I don’t think there’s ever been an Aliens game that’s captured the movie elements so well as this game has.

How did this port fly under the radar? This video is literally the first time I'm hearing about it.
It was announced at Nintendo's E3, if you didn't watch Nintendo's E3 you probably wouldn't have heard about it.
It’s also only digital no physical copy
It’s actually being published in the U.S. by Sega of Europe, signifying Sega of America wants little to do with it, so minimal/no marketing from them.
Sorry but this game was announced and I heard about it I didn't search for it and I knew about it. You're just not searching for gaming news daily like I am.
@@RicardoRiSkAmaro17 Silly me. Playing games too much instead of refreshing news feeds all day.
5:10 Legit jaw drop. That's impressive.
Great job on the port. I wish all Switch owners an amazing time with it. However, since they have managed to implement (much needed) temporal AA into the engine, there is absolutely no excuse for the pc, ps4 and xone versions not to be patched with it as well.
I played the pc version with the TAA patch from pcgamingwiki site. The image was fantastic. The original SMAA was crap :(
PC has TAA with a mod.
A Pro/X patch would be wonderful.
The port wasnt done by the original developers.
So the chances of an improvement patch is none
Sure there is lol money
A suprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
not really...a 5 year old game...using modern techniques. Imagine if the PS4 or Xbox One went back to this title today and updated it.
@AbsoluteMMA101 And it's crazy how much of a difference that makes!
I feel like John says that in every one of his videos
Okay Palpi.
Ah yes...............a jedi's weapon!!!!!
I hope they will have a lucrative future like Bluepoint's.
VariantAEC GRID runs at 60fps on iOS, not sure of graphics settings compared to Switch though!
@@VariantAEC ....and?
Logain UBiv Tnomal Ablar also assassin’s creed black flag has fantastic performance. You try it out, it’s so amazing game.
This is telling me devs are already getting a hang of the switches hardware. And we’re hardly 3 years in. This is suuuuper promising
Yup! Seems like a this point, the only real issue with switch games are capacity storage on the game cards. I hope nintendo made the 64gb the minimun storage capacity, so devs can use it at will.
@@jonathanherrera4900 you got your wish of 64GB.
Making great switch ports:
Panic Button 🤝 Feral Interactive
*Both look at drooling Virtuos*
Don't forget Saber interactive. The fact that witcher 3 runs at all on switch is impressive
Pretty sure Panic Button are going through HELL right now trying to port Doom Eternal. It's good to have another team of competent port experts.
@@Locknuts84 i think panic button is just working on too many projects at once xP
Feral is better. Grid Autosport is the best port on the Switch
It's on sale now my friends 😊
This is a fascinating comparison. Modern temporal AA techniques have introduced their own, new artifacts to rendering, but it can't be overstated how nice it is that they've essentially eliminated aliasing and shimmering in many games. And I have no doubt that as they improve and the processing gets faster, those temporal artifacts will diminish over time (har har).
This is actually pretty impressive.
I might double dip on this game.
I know I am. I'd triple-dip this shit.
BulletN3ctar I have.
Between GRID and this it is clear Feral Interactive is a force to be reckoned with, and that they truly care about their ports. Support the devs and show the market that we are in fact impressed by fantastic ports like this!
It's currently on sale. Really feels like you are straight up playing a PS4 game. God-like port of a fantastic game
This may be THE most impressive flex by the switch yet
Yessir
What a wonderful underrated masterpiece.
Two things:
1) Thank you Feral. If only others took this much care when porting titles to Switch (looking at you, Capcom).
2) Physical edition PLEASE! Would totally double dip on Switch but the lack of physical is just ugh. A title (and port) like this deserves better treatment.
Sheng W. There isn’t a physical?? Wow that’s too bad
Limited Run Games has now announced a physical release for the sci-fi survival horror game Alien: Isolation. This hard copy will include all of the DLC and will be available to pre-order between 26th May and 9th June.
I'm absolutely amazed at what Feral Interactive have pulled off, both with GRID and Alien Isolation. Sweet baby Jeezus!
Really impressive version! Definitely going to pick this up on Switch. (I've not played this game before, so it'll be my first time experiencing it!)
I wish I was in your shoes again, what a game! Enjoy
If I may make a suggestion; play with headphones on. The sound design goes a long way with the game’s atmosphere, adding to how tense it is, and is arguably the highlight of the game itself.
Either headphones or a surround sound set is essential!
RandomShinigami7
Does the Switch support headphones or inears with surround sound?
I only have normal stereo inears and that official PS4 Gold Surround Headphone but I guess the latter can’t be made to work on Switch.
You think the sound would be enough with stereo headphones?
And wear a nappy.
It's my top 1 favourite game in terms of imersion, just loved it, and i'd love to see a sequel or a Jurassic Park game made by the same team =P
Played this whole game crouched
same lol, got anxiety just by standing upright
I love that they keep releasing great games like this for the Switch. Haven't played Isolation since it launched, and can't wait to get back onto the Nostromo.
This game was intense from start to finish, it was torture but yet so captivating , loved it
I have so much to say about how beautifully executed this game was and how it just worked out so well in every way they planned it to.
One of the few games out there that were genuinely scary. Amazing game, amazing port.
I played the game 4 times on PC, I absolutely loved it. Cmon SEGA and Creative Assembly, do Alien Isolation 2 and not this Marvel shit :(
they did its called alien blackout its a mobile game
Creative Assembly isn't working on any Marvel shit as far as I'm concerned?
Sega are making a marvel game?
Waseem Akram I think he confused them with capcom
@@mohamedmahadi3607 And you confused capcom with square enix, more specifically crystal dynamix.
Impressive port but really disappointed that there is no physical release on Switch!
Limited Runs will end up making one very soon.
Who cares, digital copy is way better!
@@Heavyinthegame A lot of people care
That's life no, digital isn’t better lol.
@@Heavyinthegame I strongly disagree. Especially on the switch.
The shimmering and ailising was the worst thing about one of the best games of the generation. So glad its been dealt with!
BUY THIS GAME!
The editing in this video is so good. I particularly loved the strings when you were zoomed in on switching between AO on PS4 and Switch. And also the "ring the bell" at the end. Good job!
Wizards are real and they work at Feral Interactive.
I played and loved this on PS3. I had no complaints at the time about image quality or performance, I was completely blown away. I’ve been holding off replaying it until VR is totally nailed down (there’s no other game I’ve ever so wanted to play in VR), but this port is very tempting.
It's great in VR. One of my favorite experiences on my Quest.
Panic Button: we are the best at porting games to the switch
Feral: hold my Tegra X1
How did you manage to type that cringe, and still decide to post it
@@iforgothowtotype totally agree. Comment like this probably make world leaders want to press the big red button.
I'd say motion blur off is a positive, not a negative :)
Definetly. I want to see what surrounds me and not have it blurred.
I disagree. 30 fps without motion blur does not look good.
@MrWereverforever Don't move the camera too fast, then. :D
@MrWereverforever Well, yes. Sorry about that.
It really depends on the implementation, motion blur's image suffers from its poor implementation back when it was first introduced, just like bloom. This was addressed in another DF video, not sure whether it had "Motion Blur" in its title or not.
This video convinced me to finally get Alien Isolation. Great breakdown, DF, and props to Feral Interactive for the awesome port!
Enjoy the great thrill. No game will make you feel like Isolation.
Same
Feral also made GRID Autosport, they're so good in porting.
Well tickle my butthole with a feather. I'm definitely gonna buy it on my Switch despite having it on PS4 Pro and PC. Thanks DF for the amazing breakdown.
'Murica.
Incredible game, incredible port! I'm definitely triple dipping to get this on Switch, just to support such great work.
I couldn’t play this game, it was too scary honestly.
Have you tried amnesia, outlast or silent hill?😬
Stay far away from RE 7 and Dead Space.
didnt scare me at first tbh... then i replayed on nightmare mode YIKES! having a jankier motion sensor and way more aggressive alien definitely changes the entire game and makes it what it should be imo. much tenser and much scarier
@@WH250398 Dead space is way too easy to be truly scary. It's tense but not really that scary.
Wasn't scary at all actually
I compared loading time in Breath of the Wild on regular Switch, and the Switch Lite. My Switch light loads about 10 seconds faster......which stacks up into hours of saved time if you play enough. Also the game looks better on the Switch Lite.
Wow! I thought that title was a misprint, but I'm amazed at the image quality! Thanks for another awesome video 👍
Almost 800k subscribers. On your way to a million soon!
Yeah, I really wonder where all the tech nerds are coming from all of a sudden...
I recently purchased a Switch Oled and, being a fan of the Alien saga, I could not miss this game. I've been playing videogames since the 90s and I think I've never played a game that makes me anxious like Alien Isolation does.
So how do you like it handheld on switch oled?
Can't wait for it tomorrow!!! Loved it on PS4 back in 2014 so yeah I am already preordered Switch version. :D glad awesome port made. :)
Great job guys! Mark
Even though I don't own one, the Switch continues to impress me.
@Brandon Landry it is impressive that people show what the switch hardware really can do
@Brandon Landry Playing Alien Isolation amongst other games on the go is what impresses most people. This in itself demonstrates how good the hardware is to people.
@Brandon Landry still impressive that it manages to look BETTER than a PS4, a console that is more than half the size of the Switch.
Here’s hoping they can find the time to backport some of the Switch enhancements to PS4. TAA alone would be enough, but the chromatic aberration option and dynamic resolution would be nice to have as well.
This game is a masterpiece, I played on pc might buy again.
DO IT!!!
Switch finally getting the respect it deserves.
SuperJumpReviews review it !
Never played this before. Gonna get this on the switch since my Library is a bit small
Always enjoy your work. Keep it up!
Pc version had an unofficial TAA patch on pcgamingwiki site. The image was movie like superb :D
Detroit become human did that for me. It looked like my screen was smeared with Vaseline
Don't forget this game also came out on the Xbox 360. It's old
It still blows my mind how these amazing looking games from just a few years ago are now running on a frickin' hand-held! Technology is a frickin' miracle!
This just highlights how bad the Ps4 version was optimized by pointing out the Switch is the superior version.
Facts
Last gen console version was bad toot
It's not that the PS4 version is bad, it's just that it was made before techniques like TAA were commonplace, resulting in the team using a lower-quality AA method and thus more visible aliasing. The PS4 version still has superior visuals overall, it's only the AA method that's better on Switch.
@@SeanBarkerNegaScott128 facts
Because there is no new patch for ps4 version, if the developer release a new patch for ps4, it will be better than switch version
this game could definitely have a Quest 3 VR port now, enough power.
One of my favourite games, can’t recommend it highly enough.
This is the only game I've ever beat on 4 different consoles. Ps3, ps4, xbox one and switch. Its soooo good
Panic Button, Saber Interactive, meet Feral Interactive.
Feral should port Dark Souls 3 to Switch. That game also uses a weak AA solution, even at 4K on PC.
The shimmering effect was SO BAD, even on PC.
Thankfully this seems to fix it, as well as the AliasIsolation mod on PC!
Oh, yes.
Before Alias: Isolation the quality was rough even with 4xSSAA enabled. (Which made performance pretty much unplayable.)
For the lighting and set design of Alien, TAA was really needed.
Actually there was a mod that fixed the aliasing,, but yeah...
I am about to receive my physical edition of Alien Isolation from Limited Run Games. Can't wait to dive in again on the Switch OLED!
Buy this game on PC, download Alien Isolation Injector mod (called Alias Isolation) with proper TAA and chromatic aberration. Enjoy.
lol!!! "Alias Isolation"
I never used any AA on PC, I ran the game at 4k scaled down to 1080. That's the best AA and removed any shimmering.
Good to hear they didn't re-encode the music/sound design at lower bitrates for this port. That tends to be rather commonplace in these 'impossible' Switch ports, so I'm glad they didn't downgrade there. Bravo, Feral!
And DF is finally analyzing a port that’s in a sense... superior to its’ console counterparts
Nintendo Switch Haters where you at?!
I want a little physical switch version. Limited run, make it happen.
On a handheld.. Thats amazing!
Tomorrow this game will be 6 yrs old and can't stop playing it...it's pure gold.
I played this on X360 at the time and I thought it was the best looking game on that console.
Halo 4 would like to have a word with you..
I am so tempted to get this on the switch, I watch people play the game ever since it first came out but am too chicken to play it myself but after finally watching all the Alien films I feel like I could play it, inside a locker lol,
I'm just worried it would look bad, I got a game not long before Xmas and I paid £45 for it and it's bad, It's like watching a video on youtube a 144p, Now I just really 2nd Guess myself when getting a game on the switch, that was original on PC and ps4
I played this on PS4 at launch and it was one of the best looking games at the time.
Highly recommend it if you’ve never played it!
2010 aliens vs predator game for ps3/Xbox 360 will still always hold a special place in my heart 😅
I played that after watching the movie and the pyramid level blew me away at the time lol
This game is my second favorite because graphics look amazing and the setting was top notch but I do believe both games are due for a remaster
So lower resolution with better AA trumps over higher resolution? That seems about right.
not always. when you push up to 4K and up AA basically becomes irrelevant.
forgot to mention that you still have to have textures complimentary of that higher resolution as well.
I'm so glad I'm gaming in 4k this shits irrelevant to me
@@francischambless5919
AA is not irrelevant at 4k. It's still needed.
But you don't need it to be as heavy though.
TAA is fine for 4k.
This needs a 4K60 update for PS5 💟

Looks better on SWITCH, deal with it
But let's not forget the pc version actually hits over 200 fps on ultra settings for even older pcs. They did such a good job with this games optimization
