Regarding the dipstick measurement, the two dots that are on it, the lower dot and the higher “full” dot is how many quarts ? 1? I ask because if I driven 3000 miles and notice my oil level on the lower dot I know that my car is burning 1 quart of oil in 3k miles driven. I guess that’s not terrible but still… it gives me an indication of many quarts of oil is being burned at 3k miles. I always change my oil 3k miles or every 5 mounts, whichever may come first.
I have kia forte GDI 2 litre. It burns almost 2 litre in 6000 kilometers. Is it excessive consumption. Kia manufacturer says its normal for kia to burn 1 litre for 1000 miles.
Bs dealers... I bought a 2015 mitsu outlander gt 3.0 with 7 thousand on the clock. Before it got wrecked. The clock read 156,000 I would change the oil every 5000 and it never ran low on the dipstick. FF. I now own a 2017 d4s tacoma. 3000 miles into oil change, it is 1 quart low. Truck had 64 thousand when I bought it. Doesn't seem normal but what do I know?
I thought all engines burn oil?, some more than others!! Like take Ford for an example, it burns more engine oil because they use more nickel in their Engine block. That's what I heard.
Car company started putting cheap piston rings in cars and then telling people to change your oil 10,000 miles and there you go that's the problem.
My engine doesn’t burn oil. Never has. Honda Accord 2.4 2006.
Some cars are bad for oil consumption.
Sounds like Toyota is in cahoots with the oil companies 😅
