If you had speak with animals potion active, the squirrels near Alfira have one of the funniest cutscene in the area. You can guess they don't like the singing as much as you did, begs you to make her stop, and dialogue gives you the option to sing along to Alfira, just to annoy the squirrels. I can understand you were probably traumatised by 'the squirrel incident' though (you know, the one last epispde involving an athletics check but where you actually failed a wisdom save). Anyway, thanks for becoming my favourite BG3 playthrough player. @wendyyi7715 I found that fight rather boring... especially for a bard Tav. He is simply not playing to his class strengths. He could literally incapacitate Anders, then kill the other two at his own leisure, then go back and massacre him 4 vs 1, without giving him the chance to have a single turn.
As a certified Galemancer, I love the little dance you did when you got the Gale weave scene. He is quite easy to get high approval in Act 1 if you have him in your party and generally do good things. But, yes, the poor guy have low strength so he doesn't always jump as far as other party members. 😆
One important piece of advice. You don't need to necessarily succeed on a survival check to find the hidden dirt mounds. If a character fails a survival check, just use your shovel to dig in the area of the check until you find it.
@quakerdevil08 That's a weird tip that I had never heard before. Normally, I would have Lae'zel in my party at that point in the game, with Astral Knowledge set to Wisdom, so she would roll all related checks with advantage, guaranteeing that she would spot anything that my Tav misses. All things considered, that seems to be a more sensible strategy, since digging blindly with the shovel on failed survival checks carries the risk of triggering traps and mines, not to mention the time you lose finding the mound.
@ There aren't any places in the game that I can think of off the top of my head where a trap is buried like a chest. Perception and Survival checks may both relate to wisdom but are different checks.
@@quakerdevil08 The cave across the tree below the blighted village, the path to the chest east from the goblin camp, the entry to the Zentharim storage/lift in the underdark and the rear path in the last inn, just to name a few.
47:48 You requested information on how to gauge what some things are weak to. You are looking in the right place when you examined the character. On their resistances chart, it will often show a characters weaknesses, if there *are* any. That said, since you are playing on a higher difficulty, many things will not inherently have weaknesses, so you have to get creative to give them some yourself. For example you can create weaknesses for your opponent with some actions you make. Something like wetting an opponent with water, will make them vulnerable to cold and electric damage! I believe If the opponent is inherently *resistant* to those types of magic (as long as its not full immunity) the vulnerability will then cancel out that resistance, allowing normal neutral damage. Hopefully someone can fact check me on that last part. As always, loving the playthrough! 💙
I’m so happy you found Alfira and got her song cutscene! Loved your reactions to Gale’s scene and Karlach too. And yes, save scumming to befriend Scratch was the right move. The abandoned village, Waukeen’s Rest, and the swamp all have encounters that will give you a chance to gain experience and approval with various companions, and not all have to involve combat. Likewise, when you finally go to the goblin camp, you don’t have to fight the whole camp at once. When they say “infiltrate” the camp they really mean it-you can take your time to explore it, learn the layout and what to expect, and plan how to proceed.
To be fair, there is evidence in the games code that she was intended to be a companion at some point. There are remnants of an unused approval score for her, something that only the 10 companions have besides her
9:58 “I wonder why only she has a thing to ask how we’re holding up” I think this is because every character story has a different writer and they wrote them in slightly different styles. I’ve seen several options that should be there for everyone only on a few of them. On player I’m watching wants to break up with someone they learned they didn’t have romantic feelings for, and I know there are break up buttons because of my own playthrough always had that as a part of their “let’s talk about us” section. But this character the other was playing didn’t have that and I was shocked. I don’t wanna tell you names because spoilers but yeah, the characters are all written a bit different.
Certain spells, like Blind (and sleep, and a few others) require the target to be at a Hit Point threshold. For example, you selected blind level 1, which will blind creatures with a combined total of 33 or less HP. Meaning 1 enemy at 33 HP, two enemies at 16hp, or one enemy at 20 HP next to two enemies at 6HP. Whatever combination equals 33 or less, inside that red cone area of effect. The guy you targeted with Blind had 57 HP. If you took him to 33 or less, you could Blind him.
on my current run (lore bard tactician) I've become best friends with *glyph of warding: sleep*.... it doesn't care how much health or how many enemies there are :) I've just started to make my way deeper into the Steel Watch foundry and all four mobs fell asleep on my glyph, making it super easy for Karlach to wipe them out by throwing Nyrulna at them
Since you asked, enemies’ weaknesses are listed under resistances. It’s weird I know, but if they are resistant to something there will be a symbol with arrows pointing up, and if they are weak they will have a symbol with arrows pointing down. Resistant = half damage taken Immune = no damage taken Weakness = double damage taken In the early game very few things have resistances or weaknesses. It’s common for your typical humanoid enemy to have none listed under resistances
Hehe 😅 Yea, just because Joey manages a jump doesn't mean the rest of the gang do. Gale and Wyl both have not much strength and / or athletics. Both things determine how far a character can jump. Just keep an eye on them to make sure they did follow you 😅 Also, they don't have any self-preservation and often just walk straight into fire or traps. They're little dumbasses and I love them all 😊
I won’t spoil anything but I’ve just recorded part 7 and there’s a part where my whole party jumped over a ledge automatically but only Lae’zel could jump back and we were genuinely stuck 😭
A tip against stronger group of enemies is preparing the area before the fight starts (droping some oil barrels, putting your casters out of reach, and of course focus all your attacks in one single enemie, Paladins of Tyr are really dangerous but the girl with the blonde hair needs to be defeated first, that paralysis spell is reeeally annoying, to kill her fast you can pull her to make her fall outside near the ladder (with a strong party member like karlach or lae'zel, I recommend closing the door behind you so you don't trigger the others into the fight) and leave another party member where she falls to give her the finisher, the leader is the strongest but if he's alone against all your party he will be defeated eventually)
"I'm not going to loot the corpse" - see, you're still making good choices. I think the choices sometimes pique your curiosity and may take you out of your actual persona sometimes. I mean... that's what I'm convincing myself happened with the squirrel last episode!
Just a small but very important tipp: If an npc tells you something is urgent long resting multiple times can be a bad idea because you throw a day away each time. Long resting can get people killed if not careful:D
@@KelstoneKat Afaik there are only three instances of long rests actually mattering in the whole game. Usually plot progression is tied to completing quests or entering new areas and for those the game often gives you a pop up warning. SPOILERS BELOW Waukeens rest can time out as you mentioned, but that happens only if you get close to the burning building and then take a rest. In Act 3 Florrick gets executed a few days after you learn that she was imprisoned. Lastly there is the 'Stop the Presses' quest which resolves on the next day once you start the quest.
@@Peckles1231 you forgot Grymforge. If you long rest after arriving, then Nere and the deep gnomes stuck behind the rubble will die, and the other slaves will have rebelled. That's the only other example I can think of
Why is this fifteen year old more entertaining at making a gameplay video than any mainstream gamer youtuber. I absolutely adore that he is actually immersing himself and reading the books and paying attention it is so refreshing.
Lol i am guessing you're older then, im sorry, hope i didnt offend mate😅 You just have a young looking face and i assumed :D i love these videos, keep it up, great content!
Jump distance is a function of strength. Companions with low strength often get stuck when the party tries to automatically follow your jump. This is not even close to the last time you'll have to micromanage Gale's jumping.
Yes, Gale's magic scene! One of my favorites! I also always get him stuck in that river for some reason, sometimes along with someone else. I think the jumping is just a little iffy there.
One thing you'll want to know is that if you have one character in combat, and the rest of your party elsewhere, you can switch to the rest of your party and find another way to get to where the fight is. You might be able to flank the enemies, especially if you use stealth. Remember your ability to switch characters in dialogues, too. So you can split your party into groups with different objectives. Characters will be added to the initiative order when they are spotted by the enemy. If you can stealth your way around the fight while your allies are in combat with someone, you can sometimes make some stealth attacks or lob bombs at the enemies before they see your other party members coming. Also, taking that shortcut across the river skipped a bunch of encounters that were more on your level. You bypassed the cave with the owl bear tracks, and some stuff to the south of where you met Scratch.
The Paladin's of Tyr: Anders the PALADIN has a mighty greatsword. YOU WANT THAT (second best sword in act one). Cyrel the Mage is key to winning this fight. Tech Tip: The spell COMMAND has the "Drop weapon". Anders will drop his sword, heat metal will work too (druid spell) (So will the devil on the Nautiloid to get his greatsword, the best sword in act one.)
@@luangu Well, if we are talking strategy, bards have the best crowd control spells at low levels. Tasha hideous laughther can get him incapacitated and prone for 10 turns, thats enough time to kill the other two then massacre him in a 4 vs 1 without giving him the chance to have a single turn.
@@Imman1s That's if you know what that spell does. Most novices don't. Let's see what he does. I'm pretty sure Shadowheart already has it. He could make one laugh and the other drop their bow, while Karlach and Lae'Zel just f*king smash everything to itsy bisty pieces.
How do you rate the Sussur-infused greatsword compared to the Sword of Tyr? I generally switch to the Sussur Greatsword after forging that, over the Sword of Tyr. (Also, somehow I never think of using "Command - Drop weapon")
@@TimvanderLeeuw Sussur weapons are primarily mage killers... so their utility is situational. Greatswords should focus primarily on damage. Personally, when it comes to Sussur weapons, I prefer to craft a dagger since it can be used offhand by most characters and is extremely useful for Astarion whenever you need to initiate combat by muting mages. The sword of justice is fine.. but I would not lose sleep over it. You can get the Jorgoral sword from the Grymforge or Soulbreaker from the creche quickly afterwards and both are significantly better IMHO.
@@TimvanderLeeuw Well, my approach may be different than others. I build a synergistic team, so it depends on whom I have chosen as my "melee missile". Lae'Zel usually, or Karlach and their build. If you're building a mage killer, that sword is very good. My question is does "silence" work on Monks? The Tyr sword has the mage shield spell, which is good for Karlach. The Sussur sword effects though are immediate & permanent and affect the target until battle is over and they can't "run" out of a "silence bubble". Sussur sword is good all the way through, even in act 3, that sword is useful and good. (If you equip Lae'Zel with all of that extra momentum movement gear and she'll be in a mages face on turn one from across the map.)
I play on the Steam Deck, and I can push in one of the sticks to highlight interactable stuff. Thankfully, otherwise I'd be just as blind. You might the right choice with Scratch. It's good to accept the consequences of your actions, but it's just as fair to re-do sections if your actions don't match your intent or wouldn't match the character you envisioned. And Karlach, my beloved. She is the greatest party member in this game, and I love everything about her. Her design, her abilities, her story - good gods, her story -, her voice, the way she interacts with the party and the world... I adore her.
Well you had your share of bugs this episode. That cave is notoriously bugged with the camera, but i never saw will not reacting to Karlach when meeting her. Anyway, enjoyed your reactions as always. The Gale scene was so lovely.
@@greenmanjoe1 Don't worry... you'll have it later during a long rest, probably. It's because Wyll was too far away at that moment, probably stuck with Gale in the water XD
@@greenmanjoe1 So yeah, basically, the talk they probably had in your part 7 is similar to what they would have had earlier when meeting Karlach. There might be a few small differences in some lines, but the general idea is the same.
Tip: if you ever discover that a party member is missing from combat, like Gale was, you can bring them using stealth mode to get a more advantageous position. If they are hidden, they will not join initiative until seen or you attack with them.
If your main character goes somewhere that is difficult for a character with other stats to go (jumping places that lower strength score characters can’t reach), it will cause them to get “stuck” until you take active control of them. That’s why Gale was stuck
The console highlight function pulses out a radius around the character and puts everything intractable into a scroll down menu. It’s either press and hold a certain button, or press down on one of the sticks, can’t remember. One of those also shows the highlights on the screen like on pc. It actually catches more stuff than the pop ups show on pc . Things like a skeleton with loot in it won’t show up on pc highlight but will be in the selection menu on console.
18:50 Speaking of perfect equipment, there is a hidden item you can get from Volo, but you have to press the Trade button on the bottom left corner of the screen to trade with him. And he got an amazing ring for healers that is good for the entire game. Why this is hidden on a character that doesn't give you the option to trade with them in dialogue, I have no idea.
@@kalythai Volo is supposed to be your camp food merchant at the beginning of the game.. or until you get the other special item :p I though that was common knowledge; specialky for tactician and honor modes where food is somewhat scarce for the first few levels.
Not sure you need this or not but here is a little tip for combat: you can separate your team for example while Joey and Karlach talking to the paladin down stairs, Sheart and Gale can sneak in (in hiding mode) upstairs. then when the fight begin gale and Sheart will have high ground advantage and opportunity for ambush
Not every enemy has weaknesses and resistances to different damage types. If you look at them and see they have a low will save you could say they're weak to mind effecting spells, if they've got a low fortitude save then they're more likely to fail to resist poison, if they've got a low dex save they're more likely to fail against area of effects like grease and fireball that target a dex save. If they've got a low AC they're weak to violence.
Love that on the reload after the "Paladin" fight, you still left Gale behind. 😆 PS: If you get into a fight with only you, you can click on one of your other character's portraits and start moving the party into the fight. That being said, best not to approach an unknown situation without the whole party together. 😉
Was curious to see where you were going to go with that Gale conversation at the beginning. I remembered you saying you were thinking about romancing either him or Lae'zel. I was not disappointed lol
Enjoying the series so far. It's admirable, if puzzling, to attempt the gnoll fight solo. If you ever find yourself in this situation, remember you can move your other party members, those who are not in the initiative order, freely. If it's your turn in the fight time won't advance so you can sneak the rest of your crew into an advantageous position. Merry Xmas.
Enemy's weakneses and resistances are shown at the same place. It is rare to encounter someone in a fight with weakness to anything, moreover because youre playing on tactician, there are almost none such foes... good luck out there hehe
I never realised you could reach Karlach that way via the river. I know I'm running behind your playthrough so perhaps you have already found out but to see what someone is weak to etc, right-click on them and select "Examine". You will see all their stats. When the camera goes wacky, try pressing the "Home" key to centre it on your party again. The Paladins of Tyr -- I never attacked them at this level but there are some ways to deal with foes when overmatched. Use height to your advantage, and hiding / sneaking so your whole party doesn't get drawn into combat immediately. Then from hiding bring in your party members into the fight one by one, all ganging up on the first foe you want to take down before they are part of the initiative-order and with a bit of luck and skill, their strongest is (nearly) down before they fight back. I hope these tips aren't too much of a spoiler!
Starting off the video right. Gale romance activated!!! Got him all flustered. Nice!!! Alfira shows up later. She was supposed to be a companion but they ran out of time I think.
Watching you do fights out of order like this is so nice. The gnoll fight should be begun from outside the cave, so you can pick off the gnolls in mini-fights and maybe level up between.
I suspect Wyll was down, down, down by the river with Gale when you approached Karlach. If he had been within range, her introduction would have been very different, and they would have had a little chat. It's not unusual for someone to get stuck when jumping. The shorter jumping distance a party member has, the more likely it is that they'll get stuck.
Yeah, Gale/Wyll/Astarion all have terrible Strength scores and thus can’t jump at all! Poor dude’s just standing in the river just vibing while his party gets slaughtered
If you get stuck in a battle dealing with a spell effect that is causing a lot of trouble, focus your attacks on the mage holding concentration on it. Arcane interference arrows can help with this
thanks for a very comfort video again! cool fact that larian actually wanted to make Alfira a companion! i know there are some mods that add her as a companion as well, cool
The reason the blind didn't work on the paladin was because his hit points we're above 33. Color spray will only blind weaker enemies or ones who you take their hit points down beforehand
The only suggestion I have is when you do companion specific quests make sure you have that companion in your party. It was Wyll's quest to get Karlach so you missed his dilemma and the cutscene.
As you took Gale to join the fight against those alledged Paladins...such action has to be done while crouching then you are in charge where and when he got dragged into the fight because you will see the opponent´s view cone...in that case you would have been able to close the door and then going with Gale up the ladder and surprise the opponents by sneaking in from the top floor above. . Besides when you encounter them without Karlach (either let her behind in an a wider distance or she isn´t in your party at all) you can talk with them and trade with one of them..the female in the side room is a vendor and has very useful potions. After every long rest and after a level up vendors have refilled their goods. Therefore I let them live for a while in order to trade with that female vendor several times (actually I steal everything I need from vendors because I can ;-D) before I go in with Karlach to fight them. By the way direct near that house is a fast travel point.
Alfira is actually only recruitable on a Dark Urge playthrough. There was a planned Bard NPC who wasn't Alfira who was cut early in development for some reason. So I guess it's kind of lucky that you decided to play as a bard.
I'd like to recommend checking the settings to possibly turn off the karmic dice setting if it is on, it makes your dice rolls biased based on if you are succeeding or failing, getting rid of a lot of RNG and outright making some rolls near impossible. So if you roll too good it'll force more bad rolls and vice versa.
The Paladins and Gnolls are quite tough, but on Tactician a well-build group can deal with them. Though your party is not exactly optimal. Buying some potions and arrows in the Emerald Grove may make it easier too. But glad to see you have the best girl now. Karlabae is a total bae!
If you do a subsequent playthrough (or if you have a save from before you helped Alfira finish her song), make sure you have a character with Speak With Animals cast, and talk to the squirrels before you start dialogue with Alfira. It's pretty hilarious! You can still help Alfira after, just as you did. Also, the reason Gale wasn't following you is that you had him in a split party configuration. Look at your party portraits on the left side of your screen. If one or more have a space between, they are split and have to be controlled separately. You'll need to guide them back to where they are reasonably close to the rest of the party, then click to rejoin the party members. You also had Wyll split before you encountered Karlach, otherwise you would have had a whole different dialogue with her. One other thing I would highly suggest is to go back to where you encountered Edowyn, the dying True Soul and his siblings, make sure you grab the "shaft of a broken spear" off his body, then go to the owlbear cave and kill the mama owlbear (but spare the cub for a nice surprise later in the game), and take the "head of a broken spear" off its body. When you have both in your inventory, click on one of them, and it will pull up a combine menu where you can put it back together for one of the best weapons in the early game! This also introduces you to the "combine" mechanic, which you'll use in a few other instances throughout the game. As long as you haven't left Act 1, you should be able to return for those items at any time, but I'm not sure if their bodies will still be there is you start Act 2, as I've never tried to go back for them at that point.
Don't worry, going low level against the Paladins or Gnolls would have been impossible for many^^. You can inspect enemies via right click to see their Restances and abilities, those might be slight spoilers, but hey the attentive adventurer should plan ahead. Staying on quests South/East of the river might be a good start to find those levels, anyway, love you already found easily :D.
Oh, Wyll was meant to have an interaction with Karlach when you first found her. I think Wyll was too far away, trapped with Gale on that rock in the stream. But no big deal!
1:11 Funny, I have never managed to steal the idol. But in this very second I have an idea, that could work. 42:29 The next fight is pretty tough even on normal difficulty. They are level 5 aren't they? 57:49 Oh boy, this area I made much later. But it is funny, how different this game is played by all the people. Next morning: I managed to steal the Idol. The outcome was... unexpected!
You can take that phoney Paladins but you need to employ some smart tactics. The main thing though is dogpile the dude with the giant smite sword right out of the gate. He's 90% of the threat in that encounter. Take him out and the rest are fairly easy to mop up.
Now thats some chaotic gameplay haha entertaining to be sure. Alfira is no ordinary companion, especially when you play dark urge 😉 And yeah just like i said, it's getting harder, so you better need to start understanding your skills faster and thinking out of the box more often

WRT gale staying behind - if it helps, sometimes companions have issues following when jumping over gaps. ungrouping & then regrouping (G button) sometimes fixes this bc it makes them pathfind again. sometimes gotta try more than once. usually works for me! if not, you can ungroup & move the straggler individually over the gap then continue on

@ I still don't think it matters. There's so few instances of it throughout the whole game that the benefit far outweighs the rewards.
48:35 nice heal lol
You should absolutely save scum if you want to. It's your playthrough and you have an audience. Do whatever you want :-)
We all want Alfira as our party member! Fun fact! She's exclusive to the Dark Urge playthrough! She's an integral part of the party.

Y'all are just being mean at this point. >
To be fair, there is evidence in the games code that she was intended to be a companion at some point. There are remnants of an unused approval score for her, something that only the 10 companions have besides her
9:58 “I wonder why only she has a thing to ask how we’re holding up”
I think this is because every character story has a different writer and they wrote them in slightly different styles.
If you took him to 33 or less, you could Blind him.
on my current run (lore bard tactician) I've become best friends with *glyph of warding: sleep*.... it doesn't care how much health or how many enemies there are :) I've just started to make my way deeper into the Steel Watch foundry and all four mobs fell asleep on my glyph, making it super easy for Karlach to wipe them out by throwing Nyrulna at them
This is my favorite playthrough I've watched of BG3 so far. I can't wait for more :-D
That’s the biggest compliment thank you!!
HAHAHAHA.....i wasn't ready. You yelled at Scratch's person's dead body. I. Wasn't. Ready. HAHAHA
Since you asked, enemies’ weaknesses are listed under resistances. It’s weird I know, but if they are resistant to something there will be a symbol with arrows pointing up, and if they are weak they will have a symbol with arrows pointing down.
Resistant = half damage taken
Immune = no damage taken
Weakness = double damage taken
In the early game very few things have resistances or weaknesses. It’s common for your typical humanoid enemy to have none listed under resistances
Me watching Joe walk closer and closer to the Gnolls area while he is only level 3: oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no
I'm absolutely hooked on your playthrough! I just finished this video and I'm already excited to watch the next!
I smiled so wide when i saw you save scum on a a couple scenarios. Quite relatable LOL.
and also - a pilgrimage every BG3 player must take
Hehe 😅 Yea, just because Joey manages a jump doesn't mean the rest of the gang do.
Kicking the squirrel, pissing off Scratch... Joey is a menace to animals everywhere 😂
The only time I've come across this is Waukeen's Rest. Where else does it happen?
@@KelstoneKat Afaik there are only three instances of long rests actually mattering in the whole game. Usually plot progression is tied to completing quests or entering new areas and for those the game often gives you a pop up warning.
SPOILERS BELOW
Waukeens rest can time out as you mentioned, but that happens only if you get close to the burning building and then take a rest. In Act 3 Florrick gets executed a few days after you learn that she was imprisoned. Lastly there is the 'Stop the Presses' quest which resolves on the next day once you start the quest.

Jump distance is a function of strength. Companions with low strength often get stuck when the party tries to automatically follow your jump. This is not even close to the last time you'll have to micromanage Gale's jumping.
@@TheDngrjoe Just have him or one of the other party members have Jump spell prepared. I think it's a ritual spell but either way it's a lvl 1 spell
Yes, Gale's magic scene! One of my favorites!
I also always get him stuck in that river for some reason, sometimes along with someone else. I think the jumping is just a little iffy there.
Shadowheart getting sliced and diced while Gale's just like 😮 down by the river.
Haha, Gail is just left behind every turn.. 😅 Poor Gale.
The Paladin's of Tyr:
Anders the PALADIN has a mighty greatsword. YOU WANT THAT (second best sword in act one).
Cyrel the Mage is key to winning this fight.
Tech Tip: The spell COMMAND has the "Drop weapon". Anders will drop his sword, heat metal will work too (druid spell)
(So will the devil on the Nautiloid to get his greatsword, the best sword in act one.)

Tip: if you ever discover that a party member is missing from combat, like Gale was, you can bring them using stealth mode to get a more advantageous position. If they are hidden, they will not join initiative until seen or you attack with them.
OMG taking on Anders at level 3. Oh no.
Wait what? I had no idea you could get something from Volo, I gotta go check this out
Somewhat spoiler...
.
Its because he can become an actual vendor for your character later on in the game.
@@kalythai Volo is supposed to be your camp food merchant at the beginning of the game.. or until you get the other special item :p
I though that was common knowledge; specialky for tactician and honor modes where food is somewhat scarce for the first few levels.
Not sure you need this or not but here is a little tip for combat: you can separate your team
for example while Joey and Karlach talking to the paladin down stairs, Sheart and Gale can sneak in (in hiding mode) upstairs. then when the fight begin gale and Sheart will have high ground advantage and opportunity for ambush
When i met alfira .. that's when i fell in love with this game. It's now my favorite game of all time .
Not everyone gets the Alfira cutscene where she sings the whole song. I guess it's way easier to get as a Bard.
That insight check was brutal :D
I'm gobsmacked at the spoilers that people are posting in the comments. 😢 Let Joe enjoy his first playthrough and discover the game at his own pace.
Are people actually posting spoilers?? I haven’t seen anything like that. I should probably stop reading most of them going forward lol
So glad I came upon your channel. I am thoroughly enjoying your BG3 run and look forward to each episode 😀
Be warned. Everyone in camp knows everyone else's business. They will talk about your romantic relationships
Starting off the video right. Gale romance activated!!! Got him all flustered. Nice!!! Alfira shows up later. She was supposed to be a companion but they ran out of time I think.
Look at Karlach's camp area. She has a teddy bear!
Watching you do fights out of order like this is so nice. The gnoll fight should be begun from outside the cave, so you can pick off the gnolls in mini-fights and maybe level up between.
@@FallstarFL His approach wasn't bad either and it almost worked.. which is pretty impressive taking in account that he left his party behind.
Also, if your camera gets out of whack for any reason, press the HOME key to reset to whatever party character is currently selected.

I usually leave that to after the Druids back down from the ritual. It can get- messy otherwise, which is fine if you like messy. 👍
The reason the blind didn't work on the paladin was because his hit points we're above 33. Color spray will only blind weaker enemies or ones who you take their hit points down beforehand
You should have spoken to the squirrels, it a brill, funny interaction after the song
You're getting all kinds of weird bugs, Wyll should have had something to say when you met Karlach.
YOU GO BACK AND YOU GET THAT OWL BEAR RIGHT NOW!
Ahhh Karlach. Our favorite Leading Lady. Besides Gale, of course.
The only suggestion I have is when you do companion specific quests make sure you have that companion in your party. It was Wyll's quest to get Karlach so you missed his dilemma and the cutscene.
@@thecounselingcouch68 I had him in my party he was just off doing his own thing
35:21 there is a highlight items button for console! It’s either left stick 3 or right stick 3 I can’t remember off the top of my head
Wyll would have said more about Karlach, if he were not down by the river as well, but the story will catch up.
On the plus side you almost solo'd the gnolls.
Alfira is part of the Dark Urge quest line, if you are playing Tav (Custom character) she's just a super nice npc.
Oh, Wyll was meant to have an interaction with Karlach when you first found her. I think Wyll was too far away, trapped with Gale on that rock in the stream. But no big deal!
@RogueJelly An alternate scene will trigger on his next long rest, so he wont miss anything meaningful.
The outcome was... unexpected!
Hint, you can hover the mouse over the [Option] Line to see if you got advantage or not on a dialogue roll.
Alfira is no ordinary companion, especially when you play dark urge 😉
And yeah just like i said, it's getting harder, so you better need to start understanding your skills faster and thinking out of the box more often

Alfira is probably the NPC that most wanted to be a companion. I would also say that Zevlor should be a companion too. (So much other npc)
