    This gave me a good guideline for my conversion from manual clutch to hydraulics for a nv4500. My first try used the old spring pin hole with no stop and the rod bent. Used the same location as you home and a stop and I’m golden now. Thx a lot.

    I'm putting an sm465 and a NP205 in my 01 k3500. I am beyond fed up with the 4L80 E. I've never had an auto in a truck before so I'm a bit biased. I tried the TCI, manual shift bs. A truck has a standard transmission, there are only two genders. I'm searching for a Dana 60 with passenger side diff as we speak. Maybe an NV4500 in the future, but I've had the 4 speed before and I never wanted anything else now that I can look back. Great build, thanks for your entertaining and informative content.

    Nice...... I've done a few automatic trans to manual swaps and went from a 3 speed to a 4 speed in one.

    Believe the longer crank was only on 99-01 lq4's but they could have had a few 5.3l long cranks in the 2500's as well. They used the old 4l80 I think is the only difference but I'm assuming based on the motors I've pulled.

      Hubs, rotors, caliper plate, most of that is hard to find unless you pick up an 8lug 10bolt.

    I have a 1970 C10 250 inline 6 with a 4 speed on the floor. I want to pull out and install LS 6.0 LQ4 to the SM465 transmission. Will the bell I currently use on my 250 work with the LS?

    Im 1999 6.0 ls swaping my 84 c3 dually and if im correct the 99 to 00 6.0 block and crank were ticker or smaller than the 01 to 06 6.0 ls right so what flywheel would i need to mate my 99 6.0 ls with my 84 c30 manual transmission

    Thanks for posting this video im about to mount my sm465 to my lm7 just waiting on the clutch. I was test fitting the pilot bearing and itll fit great in the crank, but on the input shaft it seems like it will be tight. Did you run into this issue?

    Hey Dave did you have to move the crossmember forward at all for the trans I have about a 3/4” gap between bellhousing n 5.3

    Dave, quick question. I noticed you have the old school OEM oil pressure on the back of the valley of your LSx in the K20. Did you just run it from there for the dash and remove the LS sending unit? Did you have them disable that in the ECU or just let it ride with no reported oil pressure? I broke the LS OEM one off while screwing around with dropping it on the hoist and had read you can just mount it there and skip the OEM LS sending unit. I'd like to do that because I was planning on running the GM oil cooler adapter on the lower port but since I noticed this on yours I figured you could smarten me up. Thanks sir!

      If it's a 1 wire the pcm don't read it anyways, it only reads the 3 wire sensor. I'm not sure it cares if you have pressure or not. I just keep it old school!

    Is there any reason why you switched to a hydro slave cylinder? Is there a need to get rid of the factory rod to throw out bearing?

      I went with it for simplicity and so the linkage wouldn't bind while wheelin and flexing the truck out.

      Mark Ashley swap your t case to a 27 splint input, get the trans adapter and sleeve for it. Driveshafts stay the same. When I made the switch to a 465 from a t350 the total length of the two combos was not even 1/2” difference.

    I used this same hydraulic clutch set up and the clutch pedal is Really hard to press down. Was it easy to press the pedal in yours or is the hard pedal just a side effect of the swap?

      I think it hard because of the 7/8 master cylinder. I believe a 3/4 would be easier to press down.

      You will need a different flywheel.

    Dude, why? you had the best transmission for off road work you can't beat a SM465 for pulling and crawling it has the deepest low gear of all the granny 4 speeds. I will buy all those 4 speed parts from you, i need a bell housing anyway.

      I like the auto better for crawling, not a big fan of clutching all day on the trail. I have a manual bell housing.

      It's an aftermarket Howe part number 82870 and remote bleeder kit 8782

    Does it work with the lq4 6.0 with the longer crank .400 .

      No, If you have the longer crank, you wouldn't need the LS7 bearing, you could use a standard pilot bearing. You also wouldn't need the thicker flywheel. I would check pirate4x4 forums, there is good info over there.

      Joey Knutson I used the stock 12 inch from my 85 k20. You can also use the clutch from the 2000s truck the flywheel comes from

      I would like to use the clutch for a 2000's after doing more research. Then you just use the pilot bearing for the 2000's truck, correct?
