    I suppose every 1 who disliked this video is people who tune & are pissed off of people like me wanting to learn how to tune in my area vrs having to struggle to barrow a car hauler & haul my car to get tuned 4 hours away.     14:33 power enrichment. Some Jeeps have a 4 to 6 second delay set in power enrichment dependingon the model. I removed a 4 second delay on my 2008 V8 Jeep Commando and the acceleration is night and day.

    Just ordered my mpvi2 for the lm7 in my Volvo 240. Was previously tuned on HPtuners on a dyno but left a few things unrefined. Cold start, speed limited to 99, and misfire detection with the summit 8707 cam. Its idle was set at 1k and idles great when warm. When cold it will try to stall after u dip the throttle and then recover.
    So altho it made 390whp and 395wtq I don't think it was quite finished. They did a great job on the swap and has the tbss and 92mm tb, has lt headers, msd coils, all new gaskets and head, rod bolts, pac 1219 springs, and Brian tooley pushrods and trunion kit. I'm totally new to the LS world and have done minor tuning in tunerpro on inline 5cyl turbo whiteblocks. Mostly antilag parameters and load points for vvt solenoids. The car also has a ford 8.8 with 3.73 gear and mini spool, along with a z32 tt 5spd trans and mecloud 6 puck.
    I know this is an old video but I'm wondering if your still using hptuners?

    Wow! Its been years since your videos came up. So glad to see videos are still going up. To me HP sure sounds like apple owns it. The way they charge you for any and everything. My truck was tuned with it. But id really like to tone it down a little bit.

    From my perspective, you have a good source, to do videos from with this HP tuners.
    Since it would appear to me that there is plenty to go over. As there are more than enough sections, to do individual videos on.
    Even locating tuner forums, and understanding how to ask a question, in order, to get the information one would need!
    Although, doing donuts in the snow, should not be pushed aside for tuning content.

    Enjoyed the video ( I've been watching for awhile now😉)but there are few things you may want to recant. 2bar and 3bar OS upgrades dont cost credits anymore and havent for awhile now. At least I've never had to use credits to upgrade an OS. Also, the unit comes with 8 credits, not 6. And finally, the transmission drop down menu is useless. You'll have to do a segment swap to actually switch between 4l60, 4l80, etc. just wanted to put that out there so no one gets into it and is like "shit what am I doing wrong" lol. My last bit of advise is learn on a stock engine. Starting out on hp tuner on some cammed out turboed beast of an engine would be not only very frustrating but also very likely to not end well for the engine. 😉

    What are you using the green connector for with the bench harness for ? I made one up but only using blue connector.I would really like to see a video for how you made the bench harness.Another great video.

    To clarify a thing or two, the transmission drop down menu actually does nothing. Like switching it from 4L60 to manual or 4L60e to 4L80e doesn't change anything because the vehicle was never made to run the other selected transmission. You can remove any transmission related code or abuse modes to run a TH350 or TH400 though, very simple to do and I've done it.
    They make a feature called a segment swap now, where if you can find a matching OS with a manual or say a 4L80e you can transfer over those transmission settings into your tune and it would run it like it was built with it. Read up on that if you want further info.
    Also OS upgrades are free now, they became free about a year and a half ago. It does not cost anything to jump up to a 2 bar or 3 bar tune. Though just be aware that once you upgrade you can not switch OS's again unless you flash back to factory with your saved stock file. Never over write your stock files incase you ever need to do that.

    This guy teaches far better than my two professor who have their PHD's. But then again, this teacher is a guy who makes sense! Subscribed, Liked and Commented.
    I think I am going to learn ho to do this. Sort of mandatory unless i ant to pay $900 for a tune in my 2002 Mustang GT that has a 2004 Crown Vic 4.6 engine in it. Is there anything anyone else can do to point me in the right directions?

    Power enrichment is actually like an accelerator pump on a carb (not secondaries on a 4 barrel). This is also known as "pump shot" tuning on a carb.

    I have been looking at the Autel MS919 and was trying to find out if it could do "tuning". The HP Tuner package may be more on what I am looking for. If I understand this package will do in-depth OBD2 diagnostics as well as tune your car!! It seems to have an easy UI. Problem is I have Nissan/Infinitis, Toyotas, Fords and Mercedes ... with a sprinkling of other crap. Thoughts ... my current issue is a replaced a board in my auto tranny in the C230 and now I need to teach it,, can the system do this as well?

    1986 fiero gt was 2.8 5 speed. 1997 riviera 3800 S/C. 1996 buick century 3.1 harness and pcm 16211539 . century was automatic and fiero is manual. does pcm have provisions for manual?

    I’m looking at buying a Saturn sky redline. It was tuned in HP tuners at some local shop. So they can just flash a tune on the car using their hardware device? Is that what I am understanding. The customer would have to pay for credit?

    I'm just getting started trying to work on a 2001 5.3 PCM, on the "General" tab (11:51 in this vid) I don't have any of those options except the one about an AIR Pump, I've licensed this PCM and I'm at a loss, what am I missing?

    Awesome video! Thanks. I had a lifter collapse in my 2013 GMC 1500 and the more I find out about the AFS/ 4 cylinder mode the more I wanna disable it. I was looking at the Range Disabler or this HP programmer you demonstrated here and after your video I have several ideas that I would like to do such as tuning the truck better and making it shift more firm. Thanks for this video, you gave me hope that I can have an actual vehicle turned to my desires, not someone else’s

    I got a question. If you purchase credits, can you write that same ecu as many times as you want? Say you tune your na car, then install a cam and headers and retune, then down the road install force induction, then retune.

    Hey guy Im doing a 5.3L swap for twin turbo in a e36 BMW, but I sent my ECU out to get vats,& emissions removed but I don't know if it was adjusted for boost application. Do you tune for such like base turbo tune up to 20psi. Which all I planned to do. I have 60a/r hybrid turbo kit ebay. How much do you charge for a tune plug and play. I also depinned my own standalone harness. I think it's ready to be applied to the engine

    Will it allow you to disable evaporative system monitor and catalyst system monitor? I have long tubes and two sport cats and cannot get my monitors to set so I feel I need to tune out those parameters so I can get my vehicle inspected. It’s a 2002 Trans Am WS6

    I have HP tuners.. the non Pro setup... yeah if you want tuning for your vehicle or if you plan to use it for multiple vehicles and not have to pay someone every time then it's definitely worth the money..

    What is the best way to find a local tuner? I want to upgrade my GM truck from a fan clutch to electric fans and need two pins enabled in the ECM.

      Most performance shops have tuning tools or a tuner they use. If you knew a GM tech he may be able to hook you up. Always the mail order option as well.

    Can you change the VIN on the ecu? I have a problem with putting a junkyard ECU in my 2007 Suzuki XL7, its all GM based with a Caddy CTS motor and trans. I had to replace the ECU because I shorted it out on the battery post and it ate shit. Now I can't pass smog because the VIN don't match the chassis. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

    Can I change my Temp setting on my 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi from 220f to 190f with the HP tuner, I don't need the AC settings just the temp. I got D3 tuner and it does not to the temp settings it only does AC.

    My 04 gto I swapped the cam and got a tune from a shop. I now bought hp tuners , am I going to have any issues with the current tune being erased, my computer locking, or anything once I go to try to modify the current tune since I did some other upgrades?

    So I have a p59 Flex fuel DBC PCM, I wanna copy a tune from sloppy (downloaded it already).. The "Drey" 5.3 7875 T56 BMW
    I hear that 1 should use a tune from "this or that" but in my case I have every single part as the car featured on the sloppy channel (even same injectors, turbo etc)..
    My Goal was to "license the pcm (clean OE P59 blah blah ) and load the sloppy downloaded file on the pcm", is that possible under the "2 credits specific pcm use"? or I do have to license it "2" credits then write the copied file another "2 credits"..
    Eventually I'll drive it to the tuner to double check my work and tune (sloppy lives and tunes at a higher altitude than I do, he is way north Im way south) and assuming my 2 credit 1 time write theory is correct I should be able to tweak it without the need for other credits (yes I seen the option to license all the specific year of the pcm)

    Is the HP tuner just for GM vehicles or can you tune other makes of cars also?

      The hp tuners pro on summit is this the right for gm it’s only showing credits for dodge or ford only seeing standard for gm anyone know if it matters that it says ford or dodge credits for the pro

    Will this work on my 2001 Buick lesabre which has a gm ecm? I live in dallas. I am trying to find a place where I can adjust the speed limiter which is currently at 80mph.

    Good video for sure. For what I would like to see is a street tune. I have a tune already but as I make mods to the car I will need to re-tune and watching the ST and LT fuel trims can be confusing and then of course is the timing issue.

    Do you know if Lund or palm beach locks their tunes?
    I have a coyote swap mustang and have been to 2 dyno tunes and it keeps getting worse. So I bought a hp tuners interface and would like to learn this myself and want a good tune to mirror learning.

    Doing an LS1 swap to my bmw track car. Thinking of buying hp tuners. Trying to understand the credit system. If i but the cable and whatever credits are needed to begin (2 i think). Will i need to buy more credits with every change i make down the road or does it give me free access to that particular ecm and vin?

      Once you unlock the ecm you can make changes without more credits

    I just got an HP Tuner Pro and I downloaded a car file but there is no VATS Option under the "System" tab. There was however VAT 1 and VAT 2 under OS tab. After saving the file because I got busy I went back to it and opened it up. When I clicked on OS it was blank. Just a "smaller window" that said OS at the top but absolutely nothing in it.
    I can send a screen shot of what I'm seeing.

    I got the ls3 connect and cruise combo. The ecu doesnt have the program in it to use the purge valve. Is it possible to reflash the ecu and add that in?

    got a question is it something on the chip that you can adjust for the idle because some on burn my chip and the idle is up high only when i put it in gear but when i frist start it up its low but when i put it in gear it jumps up to about 1000 rpm.

    Well I'm really glad I didn't go with the stock ECU. I flashed my stand-alone probably not a thousand times over the past decade. So if you add up the cost of HP tuners a laptop and everything you need... you can spend a couple hundred bucks more get the new Dominator system and not even need a laptop.

      Do a few VATS removals on the side and it basically pays for itself
      We have multiple vehicles using the stock ECM too

    Very Cool, I’m old school gear head but I’m liking this hp tuner stuff. I do have a question. I you make changes to your tune and let’s say it’s not where you want it. Do you have to buy credits again to make the changes? Thanks
