You really look so sweet in that pinafordress! I noticed that the colourful one you showed pictures of actually was made with an old IKEA-fabric. I’m thinking of making the one from Helen’s closet (can’t remember the name now) and hope it will suit med, I have mixed feeling about pinafores still. 😊
You inspired me Kristen. 😃I've cut out my Cleo pinafore today but it is a very stretchy cord. Not sure if that is going to be a problem but we'll see! My goodness though cord is messy to work with, bits of fluff everywhere.😖 I'm thinking of going with buckles as I haven't tried out buttonholes yet.
@@thedahliasewciety I absolutely love it 😍 and I wear it all the time. Thanks so much for recommending it Kristen. 🤗 To others who classify themselves as beginners: don't use chunky cord. I had to get to grips with installing the walking foot, broke 2 needles and bent 1. Use needlecord or medium cotton/medium denim for your first try. My stretch cord moved a bit during sewing and although I made the facings out of cotton, the thickness of layered cord was too much for my Janome 780. So use something thinner. After sewing I had to unscrew the bobbin loader and clean it out as cord leaves lint everywhere. As for sizing, I went with my measurements. It is roomy and the bib is a bit wide for me, so next time I'll go down a size, especially as I used a soft, stretchy fabric and made the skirt A-line, it did not need to be this big. Honestly I do not size down and wear skin tight clothes but here I will go down a size. Love, love, love it though. Go ahead and make it. I'm 50ish and I feel great in it. 😀Very flattering and comfy but you're more put together than in jeans and tshirt.
Did you make the tee you have on? The pinafores look like great wardrobe staples, lovely. Have you tried any Love Notions Patterns? I think you would love the Melody Dolman going into spring and summer. They go together so easy , excellent drafted pattern . They would look super cute under your pinafores too ; )
Oh I will definitley have to try Love Notions! The top's I'm wearing are not me made but the one on the mannequin the The Freya top. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks so much for watching :)

Sandra O'Brien I don’t think the stretch will matter! Just extra comfy! Let me know how it goes 😂❤️
