Just about to tackle this but the sizing is baffling me! I measure into a medium but looking at the finished measurements it would be huge on me - 8 inches at the bust, 15 inches at the waist, not too bad at the hip with only 6 inches. Certainly doesn't look that oversized on the examples. Might just size down to a small.

I have just turned 60 and I have to say Kirsten the Friday Pattern Co is my favourite company I just love their patterns and their ethos too. I'm with you on the thongs and skinny straps too, loathe them!

I'm retired and returning to sewing; I made all my own clothes till I was about 30, but quit due to career demands. The internet has completely changed sewing, and I'm eager to dip my toes in. I've bought the Montana pattern with extension for sleeves and bodices. I like how you described the boxy shape - after retirement the last thing I want is tight clothes. Thank you for your comments about Style Arc; I'll be checking back on your channel for other tips, as well. Cheers from Oklahoma!!!

I like seeing your weather. I have family in Melbourne and it is funny your idea of cold weather…..from Canada.

The best wrap dresses I made were the Helena Wrap Dress (JP), Adeline Wrap Dress (FMN) and the Giselle Dress (Style Arc). I was disappointed with the Roseclair as one of the side ties undid itself whilst i was in the street😅, but at least I was still decent to a point. With regards to the necklines, if they are too low , I just raise them on the front bodice at a height I want the cross over to be at the centre front (using a tutorial I got from a blog) and redraw the front neck facings. If the neckline raw egdes are finished with bias binding like the roseclair, then that is a straightforward process. I wasn't aware of the Wildwood, Darjeeling and Romy wrap dresses, so I will check those put.

The straps on the swimsuits look too thin for those with a D cup

You stock the most amazing patterns and fabrics. I have never seen the patterns here that you stock not to mention the beautiful fabrics. We used to get the most amazingly lovely fabrics here. Unfortunately our Rand is doing badly, the result is imports are not as good as before. I'm not pleading poverty lol but to buy things from another companies is virtually over the top. I have found beautiful free patterns on the internet. The fit for me seems to be better for me. More realistic for me. You don't want to see my weird shape. Well that's my story today. I join you on the bra situation, I find strapless bras are torture devices holding up my “chesticles”, as Cara calls them😂. I used to live in them though while in my 20’s and around the 14B cup range. Great inspo once again, and I did buy the Itch to Stitch dress❤.

Great pattern selection I really like the last swimsuit. But I am unsure of where to find swimsuit material.

I use Dawn dish soap rubbed into the fibres. If it can get oils and fat off pans and ducks it can get it off the fabrics 😂

Put baby powder on oil spill leave it to absorb oil for at least one day then wash out in lukewarm water. I leave powder on for a few days if it’s bad.

Bagmaking? Sounds interesting

Put some dishwashing liquid on your grease stain. Usually works a treat without scrubbing.

A good dish washing liquid is great for getting grease stains out of clothes in all types of fabrics.

Spray your oil stain with Sards Degreaser spray from the laundry aisle in Woolies or Coles, it works a treat 😊

So many beautiful fabrics, patterns and inspiration. I'm very excited about the bag making supplies - would love some nice striped/patterned webbing and the canvas sounds great! I find Sard stick from supermarket works well - you need to rub it in and leave it for a few hours - has worked on every stain I've had including oil stains.

Lovely new patterns Kristen. I love the look of the Clayton Shirt it looks very versatile.
