  • Today on Buckle Up, Jasper takes the Nissan X-Trail E-Power out for a spin! This is the largest SUV you can buy from Nissan in the UK, and they offer it with both five and seven seats, but, is it any good?
    Other seven seaters available include: the Vauxhall Combo Life, Bentley Bentayga, VW Caddy Life, VW Tiguan Allspace, Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, Citroen e-Space Tourer, Dacia Jogger, Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Grand Tourneo, Kia Sorento, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Lexus LM, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, Mercedes Benz GLB, Peugeot 5008, Range Rover, Seat Tarraco, and the Skoda Kodiaq. Does the X-Trail bring some unique flair to the party with its clever hybrid powertrain?

    Can I ask, are the 360 cameras an added option to this trim? From what I understand, it doesn’t come as standard. Did I also see tinted windows for the rear?

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This does indeed have tinted windows in the rear. According to a quick google, the 360 cameras are standard fit on N-Connecta trim and above. With this Acenta Premium model being the one below that, this has either had them optioned, or Nissan have revised what comes with each trim since launching the car. Probably worth you having a look at the spec sheets on their website!

    I’m so confused with the different trims. Is this the n-connecta model? I ask because the infotainment touchscreen is quite large. The Nissan website says the accenta premium has an 8” touchscreen? I’m probably confused.

      @@BuckleUpShowno it’s not, the accents premium has a non digital dashboard and an 8 inch infotainment as standard. This has the interior spec of the N-CONNECTA

    Anyone else confused why U gotta put fuel in it just for it to be converted to electricity?

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In theory it offers you a more efficient drive as you avoid drivetrain losses and having the battery as a buffer means the engine doesn't have to produce the total power output of the car. It offers the convenience of a petrol car whilst still giving you some of the benefits of an electric drive train.

      Its all about the company being able to class it as an ev so not getting fucked by not offering the option.

      I thought that until I drove it.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's very much not classed as an EV. It's just a hybrid. In case you hadn't noticed, Nissan do offer an EV in the form of the Leaf.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The powertrain does make a lot of sense. Seems complex when you explain it, but it does just drive very well.

  • @snubbii9276

    Can anyone comment whether it struggles uphill and secondly how good is it on an overtake (i.e. is it underpowered), have not seen any reviewer mention this and in the process of shortlisting vehicles to test drive.
    My drive is much like this vid a mix of motorway/urban and rural but does include several steep inclines which my current 2.0 tdi kodiaq has no issues with overcoming. Only wanting to move away from the kodiaq due to rubbish urban mpg.

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The car isn't quick, but it does have a reasonable amount of torque. 330 Nm from the 2WD model driven here, which (depending on your Kodiaq's power output) is pretty similar. The X-Trail doesn't feel sluggish as the torque is delivered pretty quickly with it being driven by an EV. I'd suggest test driving one to see what you make of it! It should certainly get better urban mpg.

    • @snubbii9276
      @snubbii9276 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BuckleUpShow thanks, the reason for asking was to reduce the number of cars shortlisted to test drive, already planning a test route with steep inclines

      I drive the fully loaded 4 wheel drive, no way I'd swap it for a Kodiaq, the power for this type of car certainly ain't lacking and it's pro pilot system is brilliant. The only thing the 2 litre diesel is better for would be towing and for me that's not an issue. Thats the only reason imo that I would choose the diesel over the e power.

    ... But the Nissan X trail e force have 525 nm of torque ‼️

    • @BuckleUpShow
      @BuckleUpShow  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the e-4ORCE AWD model produces 525 Nm of torque. However, as mentioned in the video, this is the FWD, single-motor model, which produces only 330 Nm.

    • @BuckleUpShow

      Well your grammar left rather a lot to be desired. It's entirely possible to interpret your message "The Qashqai isn't good because its boot is much smaller than the Skoda Kodiaq's" rather than "I don't think the X-trail sharing its styling with the Qashqai is a good thing because I think the Qashqai looks bad".
      The confusion is further exacerbated by your loose grasp on what any of these vehicles are actually called.

    It is a good car until e-power failure system apears dashboard. And this is a common problem not only in X-Trail.

      We've not come across many reports of this failure, though it's fair to say that no manufacturer of new cars is without some flaws in their vehicles.
