Using a 3080ti I am using DX12 (required) with TAA. Getting 130+ FPS. Frame gen still works and no blurry displays. Thanks for posting all this great information.
You don't have Nvidia DLSS 3.0 frame generation, you have an early version of FSR 3.0 frame generation, which has been unlocked by replacing the in game dlss frame generation option.
AMD are definitely working on something cool here, and for sure it's a great boost for people, and soon it will be supported by asobo officially. Just don't want anyone to think that NVIDIA could provide their frame generation to other RTX cards, because they intentionally chose a technology that couldn't be supported by anything other than 40 series cards to boost their sales. @@IslandSimPilot
Got the frame gen mod just there now. I'm on a 3070Ti and 7800X3D and I think it's making it worse or not making a difference at all. Could I be doing something wrong?
Working well so far with my RTX 3070. This is pretty clever workaround 😄. It doesn't actually enable NVIDIA DLSS, what it does is tricks the game that your card supports NVIDIA frame generation, this way the in-game setting shows up so you have a way to toggle it, and then once you turn "NVIDIA Frame Generation" on, it then uses AMD's FSR3 tech which is open source anyway but not widely supported. A very clever workaround, thanks for sharing this tweak. on my 3070, medium-high settings, I can get around 100fps with this tweak. Sometimes there are artifacts happening but I think that's more to do with AMD's FS3 not this tweak. I do hope, AMD FS3 becomes officially supported by MSFS by default in the future.
You Sir are the man. Gave it a try and boom and splash. Consistent 60/70 fps . I'm on a 5900X with a Rtx 3090 , 2K monitor @ 165Mhz and was getting 40/50 fps in DX11. TLD 100, OLD 150, FSTL on and the rest of the settings on HIGH. NOW everything maxed out just like yours and DX12. Tested in JFK, EGLL, KMIA, LPPT. You really found the Holy Grail to us who don't have RTX40. Thank you for sharing. Happy Christmas.
You should add in the description, that DX12 needs to be enabled as well as hardware acceleration, since frame generation can not be enabled while using DX11. I am using a 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5-6000 MHz and a RTX 3080 and the FSR-mod (v 0.7) is working good in Cyberpunk2077 as well as MSFS2020. Absolutely awesome stuff that the RTX20 and RTX30 cards receive this huge buff!

I also have the same problem. I've been able to gain access to the heavily protected Windowsapps folder but there's no possible way to copy files into the Flightsim subfolder. Looks like quite a few people have had this same issue but nobody has found a workaround. I'm a programmer by background and haven't worked it out yet :(
It worked for me and I have a 2080 Super. My FPS is higher with everything set to ultra even at JFK , LGA, and flying around Manhattan. It takes a minute or two to get the game running smoothly if you are in a high density area and there is the occasional aberration or ghosting, so this may not be the mod for everyone, but after the game smooths out, WOW! The world looks almost real flying around NYC in a helicopter with Trackir on. And no matter the FPS, it looks buttery smooth. If you need to eek out a little extra performance on MSFS from your video card, I highly recommend this. Thank you for posting this video!
That's good to hear, really. I have a 2080ti and if this can breathe new life into....my family and wallet will be happier. Though, I will still be CPU limited (8086K) but at least it can sustain me a little longer. I have the MS Store version and the sim itself is installed in a different drive from everything. Hopefully I can find the folder and get access to it.
:) nice video!! Mine did not get this traction but you explained very well. Hope more people will start using this mod so that they may develop even faster :)
Doing this helped the FPS a lot, but I found out that things that are spinning fast (the tires/engine blades) slowing become almost transparent and makes it look like the plane is on paper wheels. Anyone know a fix?
This is amazing. Having the same panning issue which for me was partly improved by leaving anisotropic filtering on in both the sim and the nVidia control panel (set in the control panel) but it isn't that bad given I'm flying through NYC in a Bonanza with everything maxed with silky smooth performance.
i have the holly grail with dlss fg ( i have a 4070), but I'm glad you shared this for people who couldn't use this feature. You're the guy! Cheers, mate
Ive come back on to say thank you @IslandSimPilot because I have been doing random tests this evening and the performance uplift has been steller. London City Airport across the city to Heathrow with 50% AIG traffic and sitting at a locked 50 frames per second. Just think over the past week I was close to splashing out £1300 for a new cpu/ram/motherboard upgrade to help performance. The gpu was going to be after that. Now I feel I do not need to upgrade haha
Between this one and the other recent tweak with the DLSS I "SUBSCRIBED" with the quickness. I'm very appreciative of your time and efforts... ~Capt. "Mo"
IF YOU HAVE SCREEN JITTERING OR SCREEN TEARING, THIS IS THE SOLUTION: you do not have to use Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution to fix that jittering. You can still use TAA. The reason why it jitters is beacuse your GPU is stressed and do not have enough ram for that. So the solution is to reduce your TOD and it will stop tearing.
What a fantastic catch! Thank you so much for sharing. My 3090 is showing real full performance for the first time now. Btw - there is a new version of the file available now.
Just thought I would say thanks for making this video, it's truly appreciated. It's incredible, for the first time since I've owned MSFS my EVGA 3090 Ti is actually being run at it's full potential, about 89 to 96 percent utilization as opposed to around 60 to 65 percent before. I'm running an Intel 13900K 5.3Ghz, EVGA 3090Ti FTW3, 64GB G-Skill DDR5 8000Mhz RAM on Windows 10 and it's like an invisible bottleneck has been removed after using this mod. I run the sim with maximum settings in native 4K on my Samsung QLED 64 inch TV/monitor and Everything is much smoother, the frame-rates are up 25 percent, the stutters are almost completely gone and I can sit parked at a gate in the PMDG 738 at the default KLAX with FSLTL traffic during peak hours and maintain 55 to 65 FPS, it's awesome. I find it very troubling that Nvidia would very obviously *deliberately* cripple the RTX 30 series cards which people paid thousands of dollars for just to sell more RTX 40's at a time when almost everyone in the world is feeling it in the pocket book because of inflation. Again, thanks for the great video!
It just shows that what a greedy and anti consumer company Nvidia really is, they care nothing about long-term support of their products. They will dump 40 series when the 50s come out. And plebs will defend this action.
Wow I just got a whole new computer! I mean I really just did frame gen, and it was astonishing as if my computer which is a 5800x with a 3070 video card 32GB RAM just went on steroids. It makes flight simming more enjoyable. Thank you for all your great videos, on frame generations, DLSS SWAP, and DYNAMIC Level Of Detail. I haven’t seen anyone dedicate so much videos to improve MSFS. Island Sim is the best.
Great video, you are rapidly becoming my "go to guy" for these "tweaks". Unfortunately frame generator is not showing up with my RTX 2070. I'm on DX12 and have the updated DLSS dll files.
That’s really weird, you’re the second person, both on 20 cards. Keep checking the comments for a solution, the group comes up with solutions for a lot of things! If you figure it out let me know!
I have a "solution" but cannot guarantee stability as I haven't tested it enough. On the AVSIm MS forum there is a post by Mr Fuzzy directing to another site which contains a mod. This mod consists of a registry change (stops Nvidia doing a signature check) and two files to be placed in your game directory). Initial testing (Cessna 172 sitting on EGLC runway) with my normall TAA setting has gone from 54 fps to 90 fps. There is a registry restore file included in the mod but I would recommend a registry export before doing this. Having said that, I am loath to recommend anything that changes the registry - use at own risk and if in any doubt save up and buy a better graphics card (I'm thinking of the 4070 next year if prices come down).
My mistake, I didn't click on your github link as I thought you were referencing the dll files you linked to in previous videos. Nevertheless, my comments still stand; registry changes are not really advisable no matter how attractive the free lunch might appear. As this hack "tricks" the Nvidia signature check it might well turn out that Nvidia changes their installation process so that every time you update your drivers you have to rerun the signature "hack". No great issue I suppose unless Nvidia changes the installation protocol and you are reliant on a new/updated signature hack being produced. I cannot see, in the long term, Nvidia letting us have this free lunch as it would impact sales of the 40 series (especially the upcoming "super" range). As for stability, on my rig TAA is stable with this hack whilst I have had crashes on both starting and closing MSFS with DLSS selected. Apologies once more for providing a "solution" that you had already addressed.
I tried this mod but it didn't work for me. My fps has now dropped to 8fps! I set a system restore point but it obviously hasn't restored it properly. I'm really not sure what else to try now. @@stephenedwards9693
Make sure in the GitHub file you download you merged or clicked on the disable nvidia file and not the restore one. That fixed it for me. I'm also on 20 series card.
Thank you so much man ! Tested it and my FPS doubled and everything is so fluid now, even with FSTL traffics. I'm not afraid anymore in landing in LAX XD
Thanks for your previous answer. I was able to sownload and install. With th e Holy Grail and Frame Gen my GeForce RTX 2080 has jumped from about 28-30 fps to 50-65 fps with all settings maxed! Ultra on all and no issues. I am so glad your channel is gorwing and deservidable so. Again thanks.
Three months later, I’ve just discovered this, and being on my 2080ti, it’s a game changer. Of course, there are some flaws, but they’re so minor during flights that they don’t affect me. I fly with instruments in the cockpit, and when sightseeing, I use minimal indicators. However, there is some ghosting on the altitude and speed, but only when I’m panning quickly with the camera to look at sights! This has been a game changer for my old little GPU, and I’m curious about other games that might benefit from this technology. The tech behind it is incredible-to me, at least! I would have never guessed, but I’m glad I went down the rabbit hole of mods and enhancements for Flight Sim. Thanks for your video, and happy flying!🛫🎮✈
I really think the stutters are related to SU14. These are happening to me regardless of Monitor or VR any settings since SU14... Thank you for all your work!
SU14 seemed to work fine in PCVR once I cleared my dx shaders (windows cleanup) and my rolling cache. Too bad that frame generation doesn't seem to do anything for PCVR right now.
@@tomc1380 I must try doing the same, thanks. I'm wary doing this mod as soon as this video released, its been moved to Nexus Mods and you have to pass credit card details to subscribe in order to down load it. The Github files when extracted do not contain the dll files
I have the store version and the folder that the flightsimulator.exe is located in is the "WindowsApp". This is a protected folder and it does not open. Any suggestions?
60fps on the counter looks cool but you're not reeeally having 60fps when your system stutters with every camera movement. I'd have 30-35fps in the same scenario (without this tweak) but i barely have stutters. Do you get less stutters when you lower your settings in the sim with this tweak?
Thanks for the video on enabling this improvement. I was excited to use it, having a 3090 card and wanting the 40 series improvements for frame generation. Initially I had issues getting access to my Windows\Program Files\Windowsapps folder. Eventually, I was able to assign permissions via the Command Shell. I confirmed that my Userid had been assigned full rights on all folders under the Windowsapps folder but I couldn't write to any folders under the Windowsapps folder. I received messages like insufficient space or write protected. After several attempts and researching online I gave up and rolled back to my Restore point. I also ran the uninstall script for the registery which was useful as my Restore Point rollback failed, with no action taken. Fortunately, the sim functioned correctly. If you have any suggestions, I would still like to use this performance boost. My benchmark test at Renton in the Cirrus was around 30fps and I was looking forward to that 60fps you got. Look forward to anything you can suggest. Regards, Paul
I seldom leave comments, but this add-on and your advice from the two previous videos helped me double my quality settings and FPS in VR. I run an i9-10850K, 32GB RAM, RTX 3080 (10GB), and an HP Reverb G2 VR headset. And while I couldn't set everything to "Ultra" for VR, I set less critical visual items on "High." Now everything is much clearer and more detailed, and my VR FPS went from 30 to 60. Your advice on letting it sort out in the first few minutes is exactly what I experienced in VR. Some studdering around 2 minutes in, and then everything smoothed out! I'm assuming this has something to do with caching. One note to anyone using Open XR with Windows Mixed Reality. I wasn't getting the results "others" have been reporting, and after several hours of tweaking to no avail, it occurred to me that Open XR might be the cause. I deactivated it, and then all was good. Thank you for your excellent advice and the time you took to sort this out!
Are you referring to the OpenXR Toolkit or OpenXR for Windows Mixed Reality (the Microsoft Product) ? and can you please explain how you deactivated it?
@@moeeldishnawy2932 The Open XR Toolkit. I used it to tune performance in WMR. There is a checkbox option to "Disable the OpenXR Toolkit" in the companion app window. Also I forgot to mention in my original post that my MSFS is an Xbox Game Pass install. I hope this helps. :)

I got it to work but is really choppy. In main menu while going through the map there are a lot of frames overlapping , looks glitchy, can you show all your nvidia control panel settings for MSFS please? Thank you
@@animatedchristmascollector3754 I didn't even make it past main menu as I knew it would be the same in game. I tried it now, the game seems smooth until I pan the camera or I make any moves in the plane. Banking causes massive frame overlaps.
Yes. Turn it off in FS before enabling frame generator, and then enable Vsync for FS in the Nvidia Control panel. That's what the instruction from the dlssg-to-fs3 says: Frame generation requires a few steps to set things up correctly: Own a game with Nvidia Frame Generation support. Own an Nvidia RTX graphics card with updated drivers. Ensure Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled in Windows Settings. Install this mod in your game directory. Launch your game and disable vertical sync (V-Sync) in the settings menu. Then toggle frame generation. This will result in screen tearing. To restore vertical sync and keep frame generation working properly, open Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to "Manage 3D settings", and enable "Vertical sync" for your specific game.
@IslandSimPilot thanks for your great tutorials. Appreciate your amazing effort. I've tried it and it didn't work for my system. Yes, in NYC for instance my FPS went over 100 BUT no matter where I've tried the mod, the stutters are massive. I followed all your instructions in the videos and in the descriptions. Now I'm back to my previous settings, which are already very smooth due to your previous recommendations. Merry Christmas 😊
I just got the same question.... :-) I would love to get any helpful information if this "hack" will also improve VR-Performance. I mainly fly in VR (Pico4 with OpenXR via virtual Dessktop, without SteamVR)
I can confirm this works on a 2060. I haven't tried it in flight yet, just sitting at a busy airport with everything on Ultra. Just TLOD and OLOD turned down to 100. FPS up from 19 to 35. GPU seems to run cooler too.
Out of interest, desktop or laptop 2060, and how much VRAM and system RAM? I have a laptop 2060 with 6GB and 16GB RAM and I've not been able to push everything to Ultra. Yet... 🙂. Frames are definitely up, but the shimmering from the framegen on moving components (wheels etc.) and HUD are pretty bad when panning/banking.
@jrecable Desktop. The 2060 has 6GB VRAM. 16GB system RAM, i7 9700. Graphics seems good with just a few minor glitches but not while you're actually in a flight, it's just in the menu and HUD, stuff like that. Also, it doesn't like the ATC windows etc if you've got them popped out, stick with the ingame windows. Also, the stutters have all gone completely. I'm not sure if I'll stick with it yet, I'm still testing different settings.
After further tests this "Holy Grail" might be "fool's gold". You are using afterburner to reference fps (as I do) but, if you enable developers mode in the sim and enable the in-game fps (through the debug menu) you will find that the in game fps counter is half the afterburner one - in my case 90 fps (afterburner) vs 44/45 fps (in game counter). This is the same whether vsync is on or off. Thus I have to ask, are we getting these frame rates or is it a placebo effect? For example, prior to this hack I could get mid to high 40s on the ground (high end settings) so capped my frame rates at 35 to compensate for real weather/large airports/high quality planes and 35 frames is super smooth and stutter free. A lot of simmers think 30 fps is perfectly ok and taking into account your high end graphics card (I think you said 3080ti) you might be getting a smooth 30 fps at Ultra not the 60 fps afterburner is reporting.
This is exactly how Frame Generation works. It has been reported since day 1 of the 4xxx gpus that frame generation is a post hardware process performed after the sim has rendered each frame. External apps are needed to show exactly what you are seeing on your display. I am honestly seeing twice the frame rate, its so much more smoother with TrackIR
@@DOGOID That's what i heard, but i'm not seeing it. I asked cptcanada on stream about same thing and he isn't reporting any lag. This is a hack though so I'm sure it depends on each individual system to an extreme level
This works for me. I am amazed at the improved FPS and the crystal clear picture which results in a significantly enhanced experience in the sim. Thanks very much for your work on this.
There are a lot of problems reported with DX12, and definitely it requires more VRAM than DX11. So this probably can cause more issues with cards like 3080 10-12GB.
I don't know how it works and how it should work but MSFS FPS monitoring shows me that I get 45 FPS, they feel like 80. I'm not joking right now. TAA + Framegen and I get super smooth experience. I personally recommend to try it to people who haven't tried it yet. Game Changer and no blurry screens like with DLSS. I get CTDs after 25-30 minutes with DX11 and I was a bit mad that I can't fly in the sim with decent FPS and smoothness with DX12. Now I'm on DX12 and the sim is fantastic now.
Yeah, the MSFS FPS monitor will not count the extra frames from frame gen, so you're actually seeing twice what it is showing you. And yeah, DX12 is awesome now!
@@IslandSimPilot Hated DX12 until today. No CTDs with it, while many problems with DX11 and now I can switch to full Ultra settings and see 100 FPS while flying on Fenix Sim a320.
3060 12Gb. I thought it was being shit too because the menus and stuff were ghosting or clipping idk. It was glitching if you move the camera with say atc menu. But I’m getting 60 fps at 4k with traffic so I can’t really complain besides the menus and an occasional freeze. But I think it’s better than what it was.
@@crab1510 iv been having that happen to me a lot since update. Before I did this frame gen thing to so I know it’s not that. But yea I have to keep force close through task manager. got it work, I missed a getting (turn on AMD Frame gen in the General settings) - AMAZING! THANK YOU!!!! UPDATE - after some extensive testing I uninstalled this and did a full system restore. It works amazing with most planes under good conditions. 2 problems: when the system memory is bottle necked (like inibuild Heathrow with FSLSTL and photogrammetry on), fps tanks and there are terrible stutters, especially for head tracking. I crashed the A2A three times on final when fps dropped to single digits and the plane lost control. The other issue is Fenix. I haven't seen any substantial performance increase and in payware airports (Orbx Leeds and Pyraugee Edenborough) frame rates just tank to single digits, screens start flashing yellow, touchscreens in the plane become very unresponsive and head tracking becomes unusable. I think this is an amazing technology and thank you for making it public, just don't think it's ready for prime time yet. Really makes me want to get a 4000 series card... (I'm on Win 10 PRO, Intel i7-11700k, RTX 3070 with 8GB, 32 GB RAM DDR4, DLSS 3.5.10 installed, experimented with DLSS+Frame generation on, TAA+Frame generation)
This is rather impressive! FSLTL, ultra settings, live weather in Vienna (lots of clouds), sitting in a powered up Fenix A320, DLAA on, DX12, vsync on a 3080 12GB and 5800X3D cpu and am seeing 80-90fps according to Nvidia performance overlay (was around 40 before on lesser settings). Super crisp too but in-game menu flickering when panning view but not crazy. Excellent!!
I did all other updates you showed....55 + at Miami...Installed frame gen...FPS down to 20 in Miami...GOOD FOR RESTORE POINT !!!! Back to 55 in Miami !!!! GREAT !!!!
I am getting horendous screen tearing and blur. FPS is great but ill keep it off until some bugs are worked out. I followed all the solutions for screen tearing nothing seems to work.
Amazing video! Awesome to see mods bring performance around for the sim. I will say though that before this, when I was using the DLDSR+DLSS trick from your other video, using the 1.78x upscaled resolution (whatever number it was, I think for me it was 2650x1440) I got a generous frame rate increase while getting a sharper image and overall less stutters. However, with frame gen enabled, I can’t get above 23fps at 1.78 times resolution scaling. It is however, minus some hiccups, nearly flawless a 1080p. It still drops on occasion and I’m still fine tuning my settings. I suppose frame gen is hit or miss for some 20 series cards.
Unfortunately, I seem to be the exception to rule in so far as achieving better overall performance is concerned. I have a RTX3070, I did the installation as described and while I did get a modest increase in FPS at the higher settings, the 'stutters' were unacceptable. So I uninstalled the mod and reverted back to the standard set-up.
Never mind. I was able to move the location of the installation in the Xbox app to the xboxgames folder. It was quite easy too! Leaving my original comment in case others have the same issue as me.
I used your settings and man i am so thankful. The game runs better than ever. I find that capping frames at 50 makes it perfect. Im on a 4070ti and a 7800x3d. The game is smooth as butter and no cpu throttling.
@@peterrowney5180 i was more talking about the previous videos he had done about the upscaling in the nvidia co trol panel to remove the blur from dlss. You are right i didnt do the things in this video. It was more his past two videos. They helped basically remove the blur for me that comes from turning on dlss by upscalcong with dldsr and then picking a higher resolution than my native monitor in the game.
Why did you set vertical sync ON in the Global section? And not to ON in the program section, which is used specifically for the game named microsoft flight simulator? ON limits the GPU render rate to maximum refresh rate of your display and avoiding tearing (which your card does not do). However can have a longer latency and lower performance to render rate limits. ALSO CAN STUTTER IF GPU RATE FALLS BELOW THE REFRESH RATE.
Hi This is really good also have 3080ti . Everything maxed out and frame generation working and getting a steady 60 FPS with vsync on. HAGS enabled. What I don’t get is this warning that you mention on the video. But the graphics is outstanding. Thankyou again edit also the git up has changed somewhat
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I've followed you instructions exactly, but the result is 10-30% lower FPS compared to not using Frame Generation. I've tried both TAA as well as DLSS, both don't work. Yes, I've turned on HAGS. Has anyone experienced something similar? My System: Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32GB DDR4, RTX3080
I did everything and i get 90+ GPU usage in the menu, I don't understand what's wrong. Tried uninstalling and re-installing. When I try to load in my game just crashes because my GPU overclocks. I got a 3060ti. Didn't higher my settings, they're the same as usual.
Hey! So i've been using DLSS Swapper since you posted about it, and now i wanna try this but you say in the video you dont suggest using DLSS Swapper with this, how do i remove or go back to my old version of DLSS and how do i know which version that would be? thanks!
Dude, you are the man for sharing this with us! I got my 2060 MOBILE to run 1080p on ULTRA settings with frames varying between 30 fps (low to the ground) and 60 high above. Before applying the MOD I used to get about 24-27 fps or less on MEDIUM to LOW settings while low to the ground. Amazing MOD and amazing improvement with no major drawbacks. I'm so happy I going to donate a few bucks to the MOD developer. 😀😀😀
I followed your video but cannot get this to work. I have a 3060ti card but should still work, right? Are there other files in the folder that might conflict with this new way of doing things?
Dear friend, I am running a rig which I believe it is similar to yours: i9-11900KF @ 3.50GHz, MSI RTX 3080ti 12GB, 64 GB RAM (3600 MHz) and 4 SSD disks (256 GB = System, 480 GB = Users, 1TB M2 = MSFS2020, 1TB M2 = MSFS2024 - Future). As I had to install the system from scratch for other reasons, I decided it was the right moment to tweak as much as possible and used some of your excellent videos. Yesterday, after doing the enabling of Frame Generation, I got ... (please seat down now) between 65 and 75 FPS!!! All settings as you described, on the ground at LPPT stand 115 with Fenix A320 (yes, that "frames killer") up and running. I must tell you that, being a FS / P3D user since 1988 that went through pretty much all versions, I've never been nowhere near 60 FPS, despite investing lots of money (my wife is not watching now) in hardware. So, writing these words to tell you that I will never thank enough for your videos! Way to go! 😎
Tested and working on a 3080FE. Doubled the frame rate but also increased power draw considerably, so the trade off is higher running costs. Also noticed some artifacts being introduced when looking around using head tracking, but haven't tried further tweaking yet. Anyway it's a useful option so thanks for sharing.
This is great. I use a RTX3080 10gb and it has improved the graphics hugely, one question how do you get that framerate indicator in the top left corner, is it something to do with the SDK?
Aye, I went from an RTX 3070 Ti to an RTX 4080. Turned FG on and instantly doubled my FPS. But it's nice to know the 3xxx series cards can use F.G. now.
Good video. I too am happy the progress is being made to advance hardware that we have as the consumer to better our gaming and simulation experience... unfortunatly I am un able to experience this... Did not get the popup showing that the software is recognized.
I wanted to thank you for you excellent tutorial. Very informative and you explained it in an easy to understand language fir us mortals. I managed to install it on my system similar to yours R7 5800x 3070ti 32gb ram. Pre install i was getting about 45-50 fps with your holy grail, with the Frame Gen mod i got 60 FPS, which maxed out my 4k monitor 60 hz. But i also got a lot of archiving i tbink its called and screen tearing so i have reverted back. As i was happy enough with what i had. I am GA only in little aerodromes. Thanks anyway. Subscribed ❤
Hey! Sorry to hear about the tearing. Have you tried v-sync on in both NVCP and the sim? Some people have had success with that. Or you can also try limiting the frame rates in NVCP to your monitor refresh rate. One of the two should work!
Ive done everything in the tweak and the game runs great. I have a 3080 TI but I am not seeing NVIDIA DLSS FRAME GENERATION in the General options screen. Am I meant to be seeing this now after the tweak?
I was able to fix mine by deleting all the .dll files and forcing steam to reinstall all them. I noticed he had a .dll I did not have so i forced steam to reinstall them and got the mod working! Hope this helps you
Installed as recommended, but really made no difference to the frame rate, just removed all text from POI markers etc.. no warning received despite the "Frame generation" option appearing in the options screen.
when i try to copy the files in the msf location folder, it says that i have no disk space .. i already have the admin rights with my microsoft e-mail adress in the security tab of the msf folder...any solutions?

@IslandSimPilot Works great. I suffered significantly with screen tearing and when using GSX, Vpilot it would often induce them. Changed to windowed mode, everything gone and maintaining the significant performance boost. Awesome! THANKS
There are posts on Avsim or Asobo forums explaining how you can move the sim to a non protected folder. I never did it despite having the MS Store version also but chose during the installation to have it installed onto a custom 2nd drive. It created duplicate program folders on my D: drive and I can copy dll's etc into it, it is where my flightsimulator.exe is. Have a search apparently its easy to move
There's plenty of options posted online. If you have a custom location installation you should have a mirrored Content or cache folder which contains copies of the flightsimulator.exe and gamelauncher files. Dlls can easily be copied into this mirrored folder. If not then developer Parallel 42 published an article on how to move the core base files to an unprotected location. I'd advise not messing with permissions on the WindowsApp folder. I once did this and completely broke the sim. Tried everything to fix and ended up having to format my system
Omg i can't believe it, it actually works now! I have a 2080 super and my frames went up from 30 to 60 holy shit!! The only thing that is flickering is the menu and the ingame windows like the map, but other then that it's awesome!
Applied this yesterday and did a flight. It worked perfectly, nearly doubled my fps even with FSLTL on, using a 3080ti. This morning, its a stuttery mess with screen tearing. Nothing changed overnight lol. Will keep trying.
What important settings in the NCP 3D do you have...? Is does not work with my RTX 3070. With DX12 and VSYNC on and high LOD over 130, i get always extremely low fps and stuttering. I can not fly with this... 😢
Just choppy for me. RTX 3070 on a Ryzen 9 7900X. HAGS enabled. After a system restore i had to download quite a few programs again. Kind of messed things up. System restore was created just before applying everything in this video.
I get a lot of UI flickering when I do this, 2070 super and 537.58 drivers here. I have HAGS and DX12 (Beta) enabled, NVCP V-sync enabled, and in-game V-sync disabled. I use V0.90 of the frame gen mod, DLSS V3.7.00 (Using the DLSS swapper tool), and the updated 3.7.0 nvgnx_dlssg.dll from TechPowerUp. Any ideas?
Hi, can you tell how much diff would it make from DX11 with TAA and DLSS super resoln - off, to DX12 with DLSS and frame gen on? (2060 super 8gb and i5 9th on 1080p), I tried previously once when this option first came out, and I was having blurry text textures so reverted back. Couldn't find a proper setting. Also, how is the gpu & cpu temps? Thanks.
I followed everything exactly in this video, but unfortunately it seems to be way too stuttery and choppy and im only getting 11-30 FPS. Somethings definitely wrong not sure what it is
IMPORTANT NOTE!!! I forgot to mention in the video, you have to have Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) ENABLED for this to work! Windows Settings -> Display -> Graphics -> -Default Graphics Settings -> Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling ON!!!! And if you had HAGS off and you enable it, you have to restart your PC.
Also, for STEAM users, the files go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\
For MS Store: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_VERSION NUMBER_8wekyb3d8bbwe (e.g. ...Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.34.21_8wekyb3d8bbwe)

@@IslandSimPilot no joy. I tried, but with no sucess. What version of NVIDIA drivers do you have?
You don't have Nvidia DLSS 3.0 frame generation, you have an early version of FSR 3.0 frame generation, which has been unlocked by replacing the in game dlss frame generation option.
Either way, thumbs up!
Anyone know a fix?
great video but the voice "NVIDEA DLSS FRAME GENERATION" does not appear in the menu of MSFS any advice?
This is amazing. Having the same panning issue which for me was partly improved by leaving anisotropic filtering on in both the sim and the nVidia control panel (set in the control panel) but it isn't that bad given I'm flying through NYC in a Bonanza with everything maxed with silky smooth performance.

IF YOU HAVE SCREEN JITTERING OR SCREEN TEARING, THIS IS THE SOLUTION:
you do not have to use Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution to fix that jittering.

You’re so welcome, Peter!!

Thanks for the video on enabling this improvement. I was excited to use it, having a 3090 card and wanting the 40 series improvements for frame generation. I have the same issue. I've tried quite a few hacks to get this to work but it doesn't seem possible.

Yes. Turn it off in FS before enabling frame generator, and then enable Vsync for FS in the Nvidia Control panel. That's what the instruction from the dlssg-to-fs3 says:
Frame generation requires a few steps to set things up correctly:
Own a game with Nvidia Frame Generation support.

@@offgrid1461 ahh, alright! Thanks a lot for the information.

@@idkhowtoexplain That's fantastic!
I wish it worked, but for me, it made my game unplayable
Same it stops loading the flight at about 80% for me no success yet
@@crab1510 iv been having that happen to me a lot since update. Before I did this frame gen thing to so I know it’s not that. But yea I have to keep force close through task manager. Usually second try or third works. Mine actually takes so long I smoke a cig outside while I wait. Sometimes still loading, so I use a peice of paper to mark the last load spot I left at lol.
Ive followed all the steps but don't seem to have the NIVIDIA DLSS FRAME GENERATION setting in my options
got it work, I missed a getting (turn on AMD Frame gen in the General settings) - AMAZING!
Happy to see it isn't just me with the Fenix and some airports.
Yes the fps are high, and you can crank the settings up, but for me atleast it's just a stuttery mess.
A couple people have had success letting it sit for a while, believe it or not. Let the system just run for a bit and see if it smooths out.
Excellent!!
Oh so it’s the menu at the top of the screen that flickers? I wasn’t sure what people were referring to. Glad you’ve had success with this!
@@IslandSimPilot Yes, if you open camera menu (for example) and pan the view, it flickers, blurs a bit. But not when still.
@@GumbosFlyingCircus have you found a fix to that?

@IslandSimPilot how do you get ADMINISTRATIVE PRIVILAGES to move these two files...?
My Windowsapp is greyed out, please help me...
Works like a gem, rose my fps from 30 to 65-75 with a decently low end system, thanks SO much!

Yeah I’ve found that they work seamlessly together, the holy grail and frame gen, but it is hit and miss on 20 series cards.
@@IslandSimPilot I appreciate your dedication and involvement though, this is a game changer. Wonder how FS2024 will go performance wise.
I am unable to copy the dll files into flight simulator because it is located in WindowsApps which is write protected. I have found no fix for this.
Never mind. I was able to move the location of the installation in the Xbox app to the xboxgames folder. It was quite easy too! Leaving my original comment in case others have the same issue as me.
Just found your channel and just subscribed. Great content. Notice 3-0.81 is latest version
I used your settings and man i am so thankful. The game runs better than ever. I find that capping frames at 50 makes it perfect. Im on a 4070ti and a 7800x3d. The game is smooth as butter and no cpu throttling.
the mod is not for a 4070. Why would you even do that?
Thank you mate for this awesome xmas gift
Hey! So i've been using DLSS Swapper since you posted about it, and now i wanna try this but you say in the video you dont suggest using DLSS Swapper with this, how do i remove or go back to my old version of DLSS and how do i know which version that would be? thanks!
Current DLSS versions for MSFS are: nvngx_dlss.dll = 2.4.12.0
nvngx_dlssg.dll = 3.5.10.0
Too good to be true tbh
@@mammid9622 well, I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. Nevertheless, you believing it or not doesn't change my experience. ;-)
Holy hell my man. This is game changing, thanks for publicising it!
I’m so glad, happy simming!
I followed your video but cannot get this to work. I have a 3060ti card but should still work, right? Are there other files in the folder that might conflict with this new way of doing things?
why is my hud flickering ?
You can't imagine how you've made my day @ IslandSimPilot ! 13700K, RTX 3080 ti, 64GB. Been struggling to get this look.
Dear friend,
I am running a rig which I believe it is similar to yours: i9-11900KF @ 3.50GHz, MSI RTX 3080ti 12GB, 64 GB RAM (3600 MHz) and 4 SSD disks (256 GB = System, 480 GB = Users, 1TB M2 = MSFS2020, 1TB M2 = MSFS2024 - Future). Way to go! 😎
These stories never get old, my friend, I'm so very glad to hear that!!! Happy simming!
Just working like a charms apart from little jitters! Thanx mate! 🎉
Great to hear!
Exactly my experience. Not a fan of this and all the upscalings
But it's nice to know the 3xxx series cards can use F.G. now.
Wow man, thanks very much for your revelation in the abilities of my 3080ti. All of this magic is much appreciated.
im getting like wierd stutters from moving around in the cockpit should i just go back to where it was before?
sadly, it didn't work for me. The external views got really messed up 😢
Thanks for sharing, I've just doubled my FPS in 5 minutes with an experience just as good if not better!!
That's what we like to hear!
here a 3070 user, thanks a lot!! works super fine!! :)
Good video. I too am happy the progress is being made to advance hardware that we have as the consumer to better our gaming and simulation experience... unfortunatly I am un able to experience this... Did not get the popup showing that the software is recognized.

I had the same thing, but figured out my Antivirus deleted the files with them being so new.
Have the same issue. Doesn’t show in game settings for me either. Have RTX 3080

@islandSimPilot Do have have any idea if we should be seeing the NVIDIA DLSS FRAME GENERATION in the general options screen?
I was able to fix mine by deleting all the .dll files and forcing steam to reinstall all them. I noticed he had a .dll I did not have so i forced steam to reinstall them and got the mod working! Hope this helps you
How do yo ugfet Steam to re-install them? I just deleted all the .dll files and now MSFS wont start @@taylorhamilton5521

Do I need to to set a fps cap in NVCP? I have a 60hz monitor
But i can't change anything in WindowsApp Folder??? Even if I change the owner rights, I can't copy files into it?? What should I do?
when i try to copy the files in the msf location folder, it says that i have no disk space .. i already have the admin rights with my microsoft e-mail adress in the security tab of the msf folder...any solutions?
Is it needed to do first your “holy grail” before doing this ?
WOW! Exactly game changer for me that using RTX 3060 12gb, thankyou so much!

I’m Happy enough with my RTX3080,…and don’t feel compelled or comfortable with Tinkering this Much with this “Experimental” Alternative-Alteration….Just to have a Few more frames & a Bit more Sharpening. @IslandSimPilot Works great. I suffered significantly with screen tearing and when using GSX, Vpilot it would often induce them. Changed to windowed mode, everything gone and maintaining the significant performance boost. Awesome! THANKS
You’re very welcome, Joe! Glad it’s working for you.
What plug in are you using to see the frame rate readings at the top left of your screen. I would like to get it installed please. 😊
I have the MS store version -it does not allow the files to be copied over. Security Restrictions. Any workaround to copy the files ??
There are posts on Avsim or Asobo forums explaining how you can move the sim to a non protected folder. I never did it despite having the MS Store version also but chose during the installation to have it installed onto a custom 2nd drive. It created duplicate program folders on my D: drive and I can copy dll's etc into it, it is where my flightsimulator.exe is. Have a search apparently its easy to move
Try to use Unstoppable copier
Same here. Unstoppable copier doesn't work
There's plenty of options posted online.
I tested it with a fast pc with 4070, don't know if it made much difference, i had no problems before but it seems like it made it even better now..
Just use nvidias frame gen, no need to use this...
I had to use system restore. It seemed to work ok but now I only get 8fps!
It has really messed up my simulator.
Hey Peter, did you do the uninstall before you did system restore, or just straight to system restore?
Thanks.
only gripe i have on a 3090 is the clear hud elements tear across moving textures.. kinda distracting but nice to have high frames
Same here, i also kind of accepted it for now, because the increase of performance outweighs this. But still hope for a fix to be released some day.
I followed everything exactly in this video, but unfortunately it seems to be way too stuttery and choppy and im only getting 11-30 FPS. Somethings definitely wrong not sure what it is
Same thing happened to me
What if you enable traffic and have some weather inflight?
Im going to try but its clear skies at a stock airport.
Do you need to have dx12 on?
