- The secret is out!! Yeah guys, I didn't renew my contract at my hagwon. I am moving on~ I am still in Korea don't worry haha. I just wanted this video to be a surprise for all of you. 😆 surprise!!!
I've been working really hard for the past year and a half, and I want a bit of a break. So that's what I am currently doing here in Korea. ☺️✨ I am excited to post more Korea content and my daily life for you! Thanks for all of your support. I love you all! 💛

I thought you had been in Korea for much longer than one year....I thought it was already several years for some reason....and....I heard you mention a toxic boyfriend and I don't recall ever hearing about him, but glad you moved on! How wonderful and even proud you must feel to have taught successfully and your students showed such love and appreciation. Take that with you wherever you go. I'm usually a quiet subscriber, but I have have to say how inspirational you are to me. We're about the same age and it amazes me how brave and what a risk taker you are. You truly inspire me to take risks in life and not to be afraid to live. Ever since I can remember I've always been scared to live life and fear of change. My anxiety really takes a toll of me, but ever since I discovered your channel back when you were an exchange student in Chung-Ang University it's gotten much better. Just seeing all the amazing journeys you've been really inspires me to go out and create my own. I hope one day I can be as cool as you. Keep doing what you're doing because you honestly rock 💗

I'm proud of you Cherie! I'm currently in my last year of university. (I'm at the U of Utah!) I'm undecided what to do after graduation. I'm graduating with a degree in strategic communication during the summer. I want to go abroad to teach English but I'm also conflicted because I really want to work in the communications field back home in California. I'm excited for you and your future plans!

I've been teaching ESL to adults at my local community college for about five months, but my last day was in December because their next session ended when I would be in Korea. I'm so excited to move to Jeonju and keep teaching. Seeing your students grow and learn and really find themselves in your class is literally the best feeling in the world. You can get paid to enrich other people's lives, and they do so much for our lives, too. It's so refreshing seeing another teacher who enjoys that as. much as I have, even though you won't be teaching anymore

Awww i really understand how you feel cherie! I will be leaving my hagwon soon too. I get so emotionally attached as well and I am gonna miss my kids so so much :( I do feel like i should move on and go onto something different too. Goodbyes are always the hardest :(

It takes a lot of courage to make a really big change, a new journey can be really fun and new and beautiful. Though there may become overwhelming or difficults and have hardships along the way, don't give up continue to do what you love and have faith in this new path you have chosen.
I hope that it will be truly blessed for you, I hope you have many new adventures, I hope you find all the answers you seek and I truly hope you will be happy.
It's ok to cry, some ending especially if they are really good can still be heartbreaking. You did an amazing job and you helped those children become more courageous and trust that they were getting the knowledge they needed. I hope when you go back to visit you will be happy and enjoy it.

And what I wanted to share is that I've always found you so inspirational and I don't know if it's sign from heaven or what but literally yesterday I got offer to start teaching English and it's something I thought about a lot before but because I'm not native and I haven't done this before I was anxious about it, and then there is this video of you sharing your experience, when also everything was new to you but eventually everything worked out so well:) and now I'm so motivated, just to try. so thank you
I feel that stress on moving and dealing with your stuff. I'm finally not teaching at a hagwon anymore and switching to a private elementary school in March. I have to find my own housing, do my own key deposit, and figure out all the moving. I'll only get a housing allowance each month. I'm trying to not get stressed out from it but I have a month to figure this out.

I can relate. It's the best decision I have ever done, I quit my job as a registered nurse last two years ago after almost 9 years in the field. It was not an easy decision, but life is too short to dread going to work everyday. No amount of money can buy real happiness lol but friends I'm not asking you to resign from your job or abandon your business but be wise.
@Evelyn Clementine while I was still working, I started making about $2,000 a week from my investment portfolio to help me prepare for an early leave of absence while also trying to build up more side jobs and income.
There are many Investment alternative available, like real estate, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), stocks, and cryptocurrency, but my best advise is to hire an expert to guide you into a profitable one.
I also quit last month . I have one more month of serving my notice .

If you're teaching early ed. you could go over picture dictionary phonics, repeat words with photos, use vocabulary flash cards, have them write out words, then give them spelling tests. Can also have them draw and color vocabulary words and write word next to illustration.

I will be keeping up with your process because I have been thinking about making a change next year and I'm going crazy since there are not a lot of example of other people leaving teaching but staying in Korea (also not super advance in Korean). I can't do every thing you are doing but ideas are nice. Even if you don't think a video is interesting I hope to see it (Example how i changed me visa etc.).

Umm question, I thought after you quit or after your last day of week, the E2 visa will only allow you to stay in Korea for two weeks. Correct me if I’m wrong.
