- So ... few weeks ago I left Korea. I will be gone for a few months and I will return to Korea at the end of the summer. I am just taking some time to see friends and family and also travel for a bit. 😊 I hope this video answers your questions regarding me leaving Korea and what the future holds for me.
I will be updating you guys very soon with more information and how the US has been for me as well as what content you can expect to see from me in the future. 💕

It's been such a joy watching you move to a totally different country and create a life for yourself. You faced many challenges and always came out the other side with a lesson to learn. When I left NYC after a year I also had to cry. You’re leaving a piece of yourself behind. Had the same but even worse after leave Saudi Arabia for 2 years. My friend and I had to cry so hard. I didn’t wanted to leave her behind, but I had to. I miss her so much. But thankfully we’re planning to meet somewhere this year

Hello Cherie! Watching this made me so emotional but also happy for you. I loved seeing all your happy times in South Korea, I remember seeing your study abroad videos years ago and then I began actively following you since you became a teacher again. I'm excited for your next chapter! I hope you have a fun time visiting family and friends back in America. I'm also going through a major life transition, I'm graduating university and moving back to California. I've been living in Utah for the past 2 years and I'm definitely ready to be around my family and friends. It's been a little lonely but watching your videos always gave me the vibe of catching up with an old friend. I'm excited for what is to come next as well for you when you return to Korea in August. For now, I hope you have an amazing rest! I loved seeing your travels on Instagram as well.

Such a beautiful video Cherie, I know it’s not easy, leaving somewhere that you really had wonderful memories at even though you did had some rough times and it was like that for me when I have to and move out of my dorm rooms for college on my Senior Year. I dormer for all four years & mad3 such incredible friends & memories & moving back to LA at home was definitely weird especially with all the friends I made and not seeing them often now that we are more farther away from each other. The dood thing is you know technology has helped us to stay in communication despite the distance. Thanks for sharing this with us & knowing foreigners in other foreign countries just makes me a cited to travel out of the US soon. I haven’t yet in over 15 years & I hope to travel to Korea & I pray that God continues to bless you and just guide you in the next journey in your life. Lots of love from LA Cherie!
That “I am leaving in 6 day” hit me :”) In the summer of 2021 I “left” London, my home of 10 years, to do pretty much the same thing, spending time with my family back in Italy and then doing some travelling. A lot of people around me found it hard to understand the complexity of these feelings, you can choose to move/travel/etc and be excited about it while also being sad for what you leave behind, even if you are coming back. London is my home and just not being there makes me miss it, it doesn’t mean I am not loving the shit out of travelling! If anything, I think it’s great to have the privilege to travel and also to always leave places on good terms. Your plans for the next months sound so exciting, I wish you all the best! 💜 (and I did write letters to my friends, too, that's lovely!)
Yesss exactly! It's quite emotional to end a small chapter of life. Even though I am coming back to Korea, it's still been quite the adjustment. Leaving Korea and all my friends was difficult, and it's been so weird to be in the US again. But I know it'll be a good break and I am excited for what is to come in the future. ☺️

Lovely video. I understand the frustration of banking in Korea (and l was only there for a few weeks on vacation). They really don't make it foreigner friendly. Other than that, l'm looking forward to going back. Hope you have a wonderful time back in the US. Keep us updated. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

I'm sorry you left Korea in this cherry blossoming Spring after enduring such hard cold Winter. ㅠㅠ Next time, how about teaching in the middle school or high school in Korea or Japan? School teacher would be less intense and work much less. If you don't like teaching language, after building up your career and qualification, try applying for Seoul branch jobs of multinational global company or US government. Anyway! you did a good job. Lol a lot of the things the banks tell us we can’t do is a liiieeee. Like they literally told me I couldn’t have a debit card. Only an atm bank card. So one day I went to the bank and I was telling them I needed to go to Japan for travel and was working there as a teacher. First they were like “ oh foreigners can’t have the visa debit card.” But after they pulled up my bank account they were like “ oh never mind you can have it” and they made it for me on the spot. I also did not close my bank account. I think if it’s inactive for a few years, it will get closed anyways. 🤷♀️
Waaaaat?? That's crazyyy!! Yeah, a lot of my friends have had issues at the bank, too. It's all so confusing haha.

Korea and Japan is heavenly safe compare to so many western countries. I feel very uncomfortable and with feeling of uneasiness living in Las Vegas. These people are everywhere and i don't feel comfortable being around them but not all.

Is that a law that you should leave country for some time or it is as you wish ? I love Korea so much and i want to know about this lovely country please make videos about everything in Korea ?
Waegooks (foreigners) go through similar phases when they live in Korea. First they are excited to come to Korea, then the novelty wears off, then homesickness, then getting over homesickness then assimilation then embrace why they came to Korea in the first place. This is the point when most foreigners leave Korea because usually they have a time line whether school or contract ends. But for the few waegooks that stay in…. Many start to get bothered or lonely with the revolving door of friends and acquaintances. There fewer new experiences because they did everything they wanted to do in Korea. Much of it depends on their job in Korea and if they are in a long term relationship with a local.
