I used to on occasion rent through Blackbird, and they are straight up the best. I've been in the business for 40yrs., and there used to be many more rental places throughout the country, and most if not all are now gone. I'm out of Chicago and they always came through, the gear always worked and they were willing to work with you, if there were changes. If they don't have it no one does!

Pretty cool that this service exists. Looking over the price total for all that rental gear the artist could have had 2 weeks of studio time
With me as the engineer and for the same price. I have all that gear also, maybe I’m just stupid cheap ? Idk 🤷🏻

One thing for sure is that it's more expensive to run a rental shop than a studio, gear gets way more abused, people have higher expectations, you have to double everything, etc

With the prices of vintage gear going through the roof and the cost of maintenance and upkeep, we offer very reasonable rental rates on gear many people could never afford… we also will do package rate discounts on large orders that go for longer duration and weekend specials, etc. Thanks for checking out the video!
