    Interesting to see Lowery's face of shock and confusion at certain times. I've been following this nonsense for a few years but I forget how many people are still out there that really don't know how bad it is. I feel like this chat barely scratches the surface. Hopefully more people start to see it. James Lindsay's channel "New Discourses" has a lot of great additional content, especially the recent 4 part discussion on repressive tolerance.

    • @faturechi
      @faturechi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      At this point, if you are an academic, any shock must be feigned. This has been going on for way too long for anyone to be anything but willfully ignorant.

      I have been following this stuff since the late 1990s. Critical theory was in public schools at that time, and I had a niece that told me “there are no absolutes, there is no right and wrong” when we were talking about abortion. I asked where she got that idea from, and she told me her teachers at school. That was in about 2002. It had come that far at that time. It’s been scary watching how far it’s gone since then, and I have been telling people about it the whole time. Of course I was called a conspiracy theorist for it.
      More people really need to wake up. If they haven’t seen it by now, like the person above said, they have to be willingly ignorant, or just not paying attention at all!

    • @SaturnineXTS
      @SaturnineXTS ปีที่แล้ว

      @@crocodilegrundee4514 Actually, in terms of abortion there really is no right or wrong, because your perspective on it depends on what value is paramount to you: human life or personal bodily autonomy. You can say "there is no such thing as moral relativity' all you want, but the conflict between these two values in reality is very easily observable, if only from the fact that you have people on both sides of the abortion debate.

      That’s critical theory talking. A fetus is a human life, and killing a human is wrong. People used to understand that, and then schools started teaching critical theory to confuse right and wrong.

    Thank you for being so brave, Professor Lowery. Makes me proud to be studying finance myself.
    It is best to be aware. Similar patterns occurred within the intelligentsia in Russia before its 1917 revolution.
    I had a buddy who went to study economics at Wash U and came back brainwashed exactly as James describes. Their methods are not ineffective. Gramsci’s long March through the institutions is nearly complete it seems.

      Most rational adults can inoculate themselves but might not be brave enough to stand up to it. Children have very little hope of inoculation (especially with woke teachers, woke culture, and perhaps woke parents).
      If there is something truly bad that happens, I think it’s much more probably to happen once this new less inoculable generation grows up and gains power. Similar to what happened with Marxist theories in Russia. It a few decades for the programs to really run through.

      Me too, I realize (im hindsight) how all this stuff has been creeping up on us for a long time. I became a gay rights activist in 1982, and the SJW‘s were already there; they were few, and we didn‘t take them too seriously, and now look what the alphabet movement has turned into.
      I did my share of digging, read up on the ideology behind it, and then James, Helen and Peter came alng. Bless them. I have seen awareness growing, but still come across totally clueless people and think “Oh, you little lamb, you really have no idea what‘s lurking around the corner, do you?“.

      Stand up for him. Reach out to his school in support of his brave stance for Academic freedom. At the end of the day, it's some other person, ALSO scared to be called 'racist' who is making decisions about who to fire and who not to fire. But if they hear their community in support of what is right and good (freedom of speech, academic freedom, etc) then they will have a much greater chance of making the right decision. None of us is an island - we're social animals and the Leftists main weapon is the threat of (or actual) ostracism. Remember that. here is my speech to the OBE I stand before you today with the intention of providing an enlightening educational experience to both new and current members. It is crucial to understand your roles as part of the administrative body in education, especially in light of past violations of the Rule of Law. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that such incidents never recur and that we address the consequences of previous transgressions. Being aware of these violations necessitates vigilance and accountability.
    The US Constitution set forth a provision that “such education must be consistent with other federally guaranteed constitutional rights, such as the Fourteenth Amendment’s right to equal protection under the law”……
    Critical Race theory violates the Fourteenth Amendment, by intentionally discriminating against students based on their skin color. The Fourteenth Amendment is part of the US Constitution, so if you violate the Constitution or any part thereof, it renders it unconstitutional. No one can support CRT and still uphold the Oath of Office.
    Under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, “No state shall…deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” No one is above the law.
    Under the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as it applies to schools- “students do not shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.” Students or teachers cannot be forced to use gender pronouns.
    Other federal legislation and court decisions also mandate that school officials not discriminate against students on the basis of color, sex, national origin, language barrier, religion, or disability.” All teachers need to be informed that if they continue to teach CRT it will require immediate termination. If you discriminate against girls by allowing transgenders in girls’ sports, you are violating federal law. All school districts that have implemented the proposed Title IX changes must be informed that if such violations are allowed to continue, federal or state charges will be applied to violators. No one is above the law.
    What all Americans are experiencing is a proposal to Title IX and not a law. Neither the Secretaries of the US Department of Education nor the US Department of Agriculture have any authority to order, dictate or legislate any law. The US Congress needs to pass a law and Congress has not.
    Social Emotional Learning and Comprehensive Sex Education come under the prevue of health. ORC 3301.0718 informs the Board of Education that they shall not revise or adopt changes until approved by both houses of the Ohio General Assembly. The Board of Education did not seek legislative approval to pass Social Emotional Learning before implementing it in the school system. Those changes require it to be law, and no law has passed. Therefore, remove it from the schools.
    Many people view this infusion of CRT and the LBGTQ+ in our schools as merely identity politics. But this is much bigger that it needs to be called out for what this is. It is my belief that this is Communism”. CRT and LBGTQ agenda have become a global issue.
    Review Protection of Children in International Law, The Hague Conference on Private International Law, the UN Child Protection, the UNESCO Universal Bioethics Declaration, and the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child. All International Laws identify CRT and the LGBTQ agenda a threat to our children. The United States has even signed a treaty with the UN specifically to protect our children from it. So, what side are you on? This is not just a presentation but a declaration of action.
    Remember, No One is Above the Law

Example: THOSE POOR BLACKS, THOSE POOR LESBIANS, THOSE POOR “PEDAPHILES”….
