I’ve gotten alot better recently and I find using a longer rope is better for myself .
Being 6’2 with long arms is not ideal but I still wouldn't change up the length of my rope.
Using a rope that’s too short will only lead to frustration and fumbles .

In Architecture its the "Form Follows Function." Same thing as rope lengths of every individual, it comes down to purpose & specific activity that skippers/jump ropers are doing. I saw mic releases & shuffles with short & long beaded ropes but still looks great. Similar with PVC doing DUs with short & long ropes, looks both fantastic. Its all about ratio & proportion to our body, if its effective & snug, you are doing great.

    Everyone is built differently, genetically.
Some have longer arms, some have longer legs; so there is no definitive rope length or "one-size fits all".
As long as you find the comfortable length to perform good and relatively comfortable form for rope jumping, you're good.
Always take a grain of salt from youtube or google guide on how your "rope length" should be.
What matters is finding your comfort zone.

Much respect to Bogg. I would imagine that he’s earned his credibility.
What I’m referring to is human performance in general. We all have to start from somewhere and we all strive to get better.
When we reach roadblocks or plateaus we need to be creative to push the boundaries even further.
I personally have broken many of the fitness rules to get to where I am today. If it’s a rule to keep our ropes short then I for one have been guilty of breaking it. For example…. If I’m working on a progression I may manipulate the rope in ways to either make it more difficult or easier. It all just depends on so many different factors throughout your training.
In certain contexts yes I would agree that the rope needs to be short. Like when setting world records for instance.

"While Rush's works fine for his style..."
And there's your answer. His jump rope length WORKS FINE FOR HIS STYLE."
If I am a surfer, I may use a long board in certain surf conditions. A short board in other conditions. A soft-top for close out shore breaks. A Gun for paddling into massive waves. And, yet, a different board for tow-in surfing. Pro surfers have 20+ boards. Some have over 100, each different by mere inches or even centimeters. One inch longer, 1/4 thicker, 1/2 inch wider. They're all there to give the surfer the perfect board for a certain condition.
It's the same for skipping. A person will use a certain length and type of rope depending on his/her body dimensions, skipping style, personal preferences, and what they want to do with the rope. Rushie's channel is geared toward the average person out there who wants to get into skipping for exercise. Nowhere in his channel has he ever said that the purpose of his channel is to create national and world jump rope champions.

@@user-sg8kq7ii3y thats fine, and my point is that there is an objectively better way of jumping that is contrary to what rush is promoting here. His double under analysis is just lying, and if you want to improve beyond the point of rush, its not going to be possible.

Longer rope definitely look slicker. Besides it gives you more freedom of moves without bending your body in my opinion.

Torri bogg,s a jump rope world record holder and 3 time US champion recommends a shorter rope in all circumstances. What would you say to that? There is definitely a correct form here, and while rushes works fine for his style, its definitely far from the best and caps the number of skills able to be performed.

Rushie, would you please tell me why do you use knots on your rope when Mayweather doesn't?
For the second time, my question is : Does it make any difference between the two, and if so, I 'd like you making a video of DUX with none knots on your rope. Do you take up the challenge?
