Great video and I agree about the composition aspect/depth between the foreground, water and background. I've seen some photos with really nice light and subject etc. but hardly any space between the foreground, water and background just as you were saying.

Ways to not die of poor dieting on a fototripper excursion
Diet- beef jerky and trail mix plenty of water and prune juice to help things along
Exercise-walk up a big fucking hill without having a heart attack stop take a picture then proceed back down in any fashion you see fit walk, waddle or roll what ever skill level meets your physical abilities

@@fototripper Yeah it sucks, I get it too :/ I can't say this without sounding snarky but eating less shitty food helps (me) a lot haha. If I avoid highly oily, fatty and spicy foods it almost never happens. Which means avoiding everything fun I guess?

I climbed the stairs yesterday with my ham and coleslaw baguette to watch some of yours and Adam’s videos at lunchtime. Oh how my thighs burned like I’d been through a Jane Fonda workout when I reached the top step. I had to go all the way back down to the kitchen to fetch my Twirl from the fridge and then I realised I’d eaten it already. There was a drink on the breakfast bar that looked like Ribena, so I took a gulp. It was the wife’s prune juice. Not only is it vile to drink, but it made my backside perform like a trumpet in a brass band. I was a social pariah for the rest of the day. I sympathise with his Eminence, Uncle Prune-Juicicus - Farticus - Shitacarcus. Oh and great photos too btw.
bwahahahaahah. Beware the prunes of plenty.

@@molopez619 - Fototripper does spend a lot of his time sitting on his @rse in cars travelling between shoots. That plus his abundant weight issues must mean his Farmer Giles must be trezmendously ripe and juicy - all the more need for some cooling, soothing moss. Even better when used semi-fredo as you find it in the Faroe Islands.

This isn't about you, but I'm getting bored of seeing landscape photos with good foreground, good mid-ground, and good background. The perfection is getting bland, for me. I'd like to see more experimentation with composition.

Pro tip. When you have to trip a shutter and can't use delay and don't have a remote, pinch the shutter. Using your right hand, put the thumb the bottom of the camera or L-bracket and your index or middle finger on the shutter button. Trip the shutter with a smooth "pinching" and release movement (the release will probably happen after the shutter trips, but it's a follow-through that helps you concentrate on apply and releasing the pinch evenly and smoothly). This method can reduce camera movement caused by only pressing the shutter (which bends the rig away from the press) and any vibration that might be caused by the rebound (if the shutter is still open when you remove your finger from it).

In all seriousness, if you want help with good food that is healthier for hiking/camping/traveling get in touch. I am a Colorado-based photographer but I traveled full time for a year so I am relatively well versed in travel meal prepping.

The best photographer diet: meat, cooked in its own juice. With a very dark beer, something close to an ashtray with water. You can add one salad leaf, to boost self esteem. This advice will cost you a very friendly price: trophy of the photographer of the year.
My own way to deal with the #2 might interest you. Or disgust you, but here it is. I bring a pot that clips air tight and a sheet of waxed paper. So I do the business on the paper that is water proof, I then wrap it up and put it in the pot. With enough of that paper you wont have any spill in the pot if being careful enough not to rock it to much and if you buy it the right size. The you seek for a chemical toilet or a regular one but the paper may clog a regular one. Such a procedure is good for about 4 hours. More the paper get soggy and start failing.

You can take some doggie bags with you... if the call of nature comes, it’s easy to pick it all up, take it with you and put it in a bin...

The first one is really nice but I have a few but minor problems with it! The composition is great but I would zoom a bit more in because I think the stone that is sticking out of the lower middle edge and the basalt rocks in the right corner that are sticking into the image are a bit distracting. Otherwise the little fog or cloud on the left island is also a bit distracting. Nonetheless the image is awsome!!!

PLEASE DON'T BURN YOUR WASTE! Some years ago, a visitor to Patagonia decided to burn his toilet paper rather than having to carry it out of the national park with him. That was a bad move b/c there were many hectares of the park burnt as a result of that. I could do with some weather like this seeing Australia is predicted to have a super hot summer!
