If you really look you can see things like foliage and distant landscapes are blurrier in FSR than in DLSS but the two are close enough. What's Interesting is DLSS in this regard is actually sharper than native. At 1:51 DLSS waterfall actually looks better than native! Putting that into perspective FSR actually does an excellent job at reconstructing the native resolution. DLSS at least to my eye somehow is able to improve on the native resolution which is also very impressive.

Native is always the best and DLSS will always be a compromise, no matter how much you try to convince your eyes. It might be the better compromise, when compared to FSR, but it's still a compromise.

  • @SnooZeGamezZz
    @SnooZeGamezZz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Very close at 4k quality. Dlss looks alittle sharper but not by much. I think the difference gets more pronounced at lower resolutions, because fsr is worling eoth framedata while dlss is working with a much more detailed image and approximating I think it learns from 8-16k imagery to get develop its algorithms for each game.

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yep. Difference at lower resolution is lot better for DLSS, because DLSS is not just upscaler what clean and sharp image, it just render lot of image it self and perfect it. Yep, on 4k is difference smaller, but stil big between FSR 2.0 and DLSS 2.0 and 2.3, but on 1080p it's for FSR extremly bad. I have 1080p 15.6 inch laptop with RTX gpu and FSR 2.0 looks even on Ultra quality like "dogshit" compared to DLSS on quality, what looks better and even sharper than native 1080p in 90% of DLSSR games what i played..... DLSS shine at lower resolution...... DLSS in GoW looks on 1080p with Quality mode like 1440p, or just supersampled 1080p image to 1440p, what i tested internal nvidia supersampling method on 1440p on 1080p screen, DLSS on quality on 1080p looks even better than 1080p supersampled to 1440p.... FSR 2.0 is still better than lowering resolution from 1080 like to 720p, that's true. But FSR 2.0 in GOW or Deathloop looks on 1080p on ultra quality lot whorse than even internal 900p upscaled with TAAU or just 900p lower resolution. It's only looks better than 720p, it's compared on 1080 display to like 768p to 800p at best...... I like AMD before, but now AMD is lack behind Nvidia in software technology extreme.... DLSS is future, if AMD don't relase AMD FSR IA tech based and still use software "dumb" technology, DLSS will be still on another level + DLSS is not even on it's peak, next DLSS version ( like 3.0) will be even better, i think FSR reach it's peak and it's bad for AMD.

The one big difference is the waterfall scene, DLSS looks way better than FSR 2 and even looks slightly better than native. Overall though I'd say native looks the best, DLSS is like 90% quality of native and FSR 2 is something like 88% quality of native. Again the one big outlier is the waterfall scene where the water looks much better with dlss than either fsr or native!

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

DLSS on 1080 display on laptop is lot better than native in DLSS quality. It's like 130-140% native resolution on 15.6 inch..... FSR looks on 1080p on ultra quality like 75-80% of native at best scenario.... On higher resolution, gap is smaller, but FSR still looks whorse on textures, smaller details, vegetation... DLSS on 4k looks more like in most cases like 95-99% of Native, in some like Metro Exodus, or Control, or Death Stranding even better than native 4k and FSR 2.0 looks on 4k like 85% native resolution. What is good improve from FSR 1.0 what looks like 60% native on 1080p display and 70% native on 4k...

In the later comparisons there were big differences, including with lighting which I found odd. FSR looked bad in those, DLSS was almost as good as native. So probably DLSS for the frames would be my choice but it would depend on the game.

The truth is that if you notice the differences, there are people who still say that FSR is on a par with DLSS, but the question is, did I speak well of DLSS for more or less approaching the native quality, which is what do you try FSR, or to be up to or even better than the native image?, don't get me wrong, FSR 2.0 does it well, but it still has a way to approach the quality of DLSS and even now the FSR qualities give less FPS than before.

I play natively at 4K so I can very easily spot the differences in blurred imaging with both FSR and DLSS from native 4K. Some images were night and day with the smaller details like scales on Kratos, glowing stones, water, world litter and so on being much crisper at native 4K than either imaging technologies.

It's just me, or DLSS looks better than Native? It was in more games, like Death Stranding or Crysis remastered or Control, but here is extreme. I play God of War on laptop 1080p screen and on it DLSS on quality looks lot better than native 1080p. It looks almost like supersampling, than reconstruction. It have better aa, better sharper textures and less shimmering on vegetation + better details of skin of characters.
DLSS is just some miracle in gaming and God of War have perfect implementation.
FRS 2.0 looks good too, but it's still in lot of things behind DLSS, that machine learning AI is still extreme advantage over FSR..... But FSR 2.0 looks much, much better than 1.0 version. FSR 1.0 on ultra quality, was like performance mode DLSS, now FSR 2.0 on Ultra quality looks like balanced DLSS 2.0/2.3

I mean seriously, look how much zoom you have to make in order to appreciate the very little difference, not mentioning in games you usually don't stop to observe every square meter of the game, just in specific places.
So yeah definitely worth 100% the trade of fps for the very small detail

    • @ClayWheeler

SAM doesn't work on "Less than PCIe X16 Lanes"
That means any Radeon GPU that uses any PCIe of any Gen at Less than X16 Lanes won't be able to use SAM at all.
