  • I thought that we could have a little fun with this one, let's see how easy, or hard, it can be to spot the difference between a NATIVE 1440p resolution and FSR 2.0 in Quality Mode! The games included in this video are Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-man Miles Morales, Ghostwire Tokyo, Forza Horizon 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Dying Light 2.
    All the native footage was captured on our Nitro+ RX 6800 XT whilst the FSR 2 footage was captured on our Nitro+ RX 6700 XT. The gameplay is capped to a 60fps limit, so any difference in smoothness is likely down to a recording error or a problem with frame pacing.
    We also have a rapid fire quiz at the end!

    I really enjoyed this. I like how you had fun it, and it definitely fooled me quite a bit. Haha

    I stepped through a lot of these frame by frame just to see if I could spot the difference (and it's also just neat to watch FSR do its thing) and the Cyberpunk section is really weird. There are lighting changes, car colors are randomized, characters don't load in for a few frames after a camera cut. I would totally recommend it not only to see how FSR works, but also to see some of the interesting stuff Red Engine does.

    Seeing in the video and seeing actually while playing is different. Native will always be better except in case of jagged edges but FSR also has come a long way.

    The reason why fsr is bad is because any difference is unintended by the developer and breaks immersion with the artistry. But for driving games and high speed games it should be fine.

    Does FSR have less ghosting than DLSS? It's hard to tell from a fixed camera

    Very easy if you know where to look, but I don't mind it, and instead adore it because it shows my steamdeck do even better than with frs1. I even prefer fsr image to native most of the time.
    Now give us proper webcam background removal tool like nvidia has and I can switch back again

    Got all of them right except for the RDR2 scene, FSR and DLSS tend to oversharpen the image and have a hard time with things like hair, beard or fur.

      @dwightcronenweth7901 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I tried to guess with a few and got 3/3 right. Other than problems to render hair and sharpened distant textures, sometimes you can tell by the less detailed background.
      Still, I must say it was impressive although I wasn't expecting it would also get colors wrong
      It might also be that I'm just watching this from my phone. I do notice greater differences when trying it myself on a desktop

    FSR 2.0 is clearly discernible since the picture is not as sharp as in native.

    I hope FSR will be just as good as native in the future. I've heard something about AMD enabling AI in 2024, so I hope I can jump to the RX 7000 or 8000 series and get a nice FPS boost without loosing crispiness.
    So far I think I've only experienced FSR in Lies of P, where it's very blurry. It really struggles with far away details, which Lies of P has a lot of, and hair (At least it doesn't make the raindrops huge as DLSS does).
    Unfortunately I'm very sensitive to that and I had to turn it off :(
    Even here it was very evident to me which one was FSR and which one was native. But when the background is blurry to begin with and there is no facial hair, it's surprisingly good.
    I hope AMD can fix this issue with the next iteration, because we really need some competition in the GPU market.
    Sidenote: AMD should definitely add support to upscale and increase the FPS for streamed content such as TH-cam videos, Netflix, Crunchyroll, etc. I would pay good money if someone finally managed to upscale 1080p 30FPS anime to 1440p 60hz without the issues of current tech anime upscaling.
    Nvidia already did this 4K upscaling thing for Rtx 3000 and up, and it works well for general purpose videos (I'm not sure it works for anime aswell). I've almost decided to pay the extra and switch teams, just for this.

    It was easy to pick FSR after 3 sample. It was the skin tone gave it away. FSR is bit more deep skin tone. little bit more saturated .

  • @supernova874

    IF the native was compared to performance it will make a difference visually and also when locked in 60fps nothing to gain and btw. i guess almost all with some exception and only in the beginning of the comparissons the blur is obvious to a good eye.

    • @pixelshaketv
      @pixelshaketv ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, I'm the guy that made the video. The reason for the 60fps cap in this video is to remove smoothness and framerate from the equation, I did this purposely. I's suggest you download the higher quality video in the description because you say that the blur is easy to spot to a well trained eye when in reality FSR is often over sharpened, meaning the best way to spot the difference is usually looking for grain and not blur lol. Thanks for the comment mate.
