My father, of the WW II generation, said he studied a lot, because he was wondering why everything was falling apart. He realized after studying the situation, for years, that he'd asked the wrong question. he should have asked what was holding it all together. I don't know, myself.
Noodles!
'Glue, nonsense, and people playing along with the nonsense is what's keeping it all together.'
Capitalism…and a shared sense of greed. If not for that, this system would necessarily have to fall apart…and some folks think that maybe it should. Money truly is the source of most evils in this world. Not sure how, but it’d probably be a better world if the focus was bettering lives and caring about society rather than short term quarterly gains…and China talks a big game about society but ultimately it’s just the same…only instead of a greedy guy at the top of a company, its a greedy power hungry govt at the top of entire industries. Same thing, just on a bigger scale.
I'm tired of the "China is pulling ahead of us!" propaganda. Even MrWhoseTheBoss was promoting Huawei as revolutionary tech
I bet u aren't tired of "china has collapsed" propaganda.😂😂

Everyone in the Western world should be boycotting cheap shoddy Chinese goods….
Walmart will go bankrupt
That's easier said than done. I've tried to find non-Chinese alternatives for several things and failed in almost every case. For example, I tried to buy a hedge trimmer that wasn't made in China but it seems that ALL the "name" brands are made there. (After hours of research, I found one brand that MAY have been German - at least the name was German - but I'd never heard of it and could not find any significant number of reviews for it.) This may change in time as "re-shoring" - moving manufacturing back to the West or at least outside China - takes hold but we're not very far down that path yet.

Folding phones are just a gimmick.
Don't be stupid. The fact that Samsung partially allows repair to the batteries and screen to be done by the consumer is a win, and makes it better than most brick phones. Right to repair is always a win.
Scientifically ill-advised. The less materials move, or are in motion, the better. Entropy suggests that all materials disperse over time, even without relative motion.
Looks dangerous even if the phone itself is safe.

A folding screen seems like an unnecessary point of failure. Anything the bends collects wear and tear. I cannot imagine a screen can be that durable with constant usage.
Does anyone really think China makes good Automobiles?
All the foreign customers surely think so. Unfortunately I see more & more BYDs here in Austria.
There is a growing horde of BYD zealots who lavish all kinds of praise onto those cars. I imagine there is going to be all kinds of scandals related to safety with those cars as they enter the western markets.
Sure if your the local pyromaniac you don,'t even have to light the match their cars are self starters😅

Ironically one of the few products I'd "wave around" (in a safe manner) and get patriotic about are firearms. American-made guns have ranges of quality, and prices and reputations to reflect it. You truly get what you pay for (most of the time). Meanwhile Chinese weapons are... Special. Their new assault rifle turned out to be garbage and that grenade... sniper... thing is an absolute meme.

To be honest even samsung fold is a garbage. Mine started leaking screen after 2 yrs 2 months. 2 years is the warranty.

Again china just doesn't get it. I can't imagine how flimsy and junk their military helicopters and fighter jets are. And your right...if the chinese people were really free they'd make some really awesome products.
I thought this as well. I bought a Chinese milspec bag and the zippers all broke off when I tried to open it for the first time. I went and looked it up and apparently Chinese special forces units use all Belgian made equipment and arms. 'Junk for thee and not for me'.
China's military aircraft are all just Temu knock offs of Russian aircraft. But lacking a lot of the tech on the Russian aircraft, example the J-11 and J-16 fighters are based on the SU-27 and SU-35 respectively, but lack the thrust vectoring and powerful radar of the Russian versions. And even those Russian aircraft are considered inferior to their western equivalents.

Currently using a Xiaomi Redmi model and I love it. It's so user friendly. Had two Huawei smartphones before that for a couple years each and loved them as well. The transition between those brands is smooth as balls because of their very similar OS which I'm used to by now. So the software support is less than what let say Samsung or Apple would offer. It's part of planned obsolescence. Since you won't have this issue if you keep buying a new phone ever two year.
