Looked like an wpic adventure mate, so wounded I couldn't join you guys for it. After only carrying my light day pack though on my last hike im glad I didnt chance it. But at least I have your awesome videos to watch. That peg situation was like my camp on St Sunday Crag summit lol go in about ½ of the way. Winds only got to about 32 / 37 mph though on my Skywatch so got away with it, just about lol. Spoke to Paul on the phone though yesterday and he told me the dramas 🙈😆 I got 2 bottles from SS the other week too lol got another one on the way.. those Tritan water bottles though are bang on I think. Hahaha that 'face' on the tent LOL... Looks like you had a great laugh thoughz even if there were a few dramas. Awesome video pal.. THANKS!!! We got lucky and parked pretty close by but then went on a trek up the hill all the same! Yeah it was just big gusts it was but enough to lift a tent in the sky 😅 seem really good the sparrow bottles don't they

You can extend your guy lines out as much as possible, wrap them around a rock, then peg them & put another rock on top, no worries, unless the wind can move rocks 😎
Hell of a trek from your neck of the woods that is butt. When the ground is crap for pegs, even at shallow angles and you have to use weight on top, I’ve come up with an idea that hasn’t failed me yet. I call it X-pegging. I use two at opposite directions with the guy line, then put the weight on top. Best way to describe how it works without a visual would be, imagine your original shallow peg in the ground facing towards your tent, place another peg opposite along side it, secure the guy around that too, then weight it down. After many experiences like yours in this video, I have never had an issue since. Have a great new year butt.

It's well worth checking out you need a good few days though and as you can see it's pretty dangerous in parts

My pegs were under rocks too it still got hold of them ha. It was only the morning that was rough anyway
