Liam, there is a sadness in your voice at the start that highlights and adds an additional layer to the clear happiness this challenge brought you. I don't think I've ever watched a creator open himself and invite others along so brilliantly. This is so well put together. I look forward to your next challenge and get a coffee on me.
Liam I was the fella who met you on the motorbike at 27:00! I think you also went quite near my house on your way through Tal-y-bont reservoir the next day or two! Much respect for going all that way on the bike, I think i'll stick to the Motorcycle lol 👍👍
these videos ignited a passion for nature that I didn't think I had, to be honest. I barely ever leave the house, but I've been trying to get out of the house more because of these, aswell as wanting to now go camping with friends
Good on you Ollie good luck mate. I’ve got my last daughter in the house( she’s 16). So can’t just yet but have plans to when she leaves. I live on my own so going to do a coast to coast inspired by Liam. Again enjoy mate.
My favourite video of yours Liam. My son has just turned 7, and we are just about to start heading up into the mountains together and going on long distance walks. As a single parent, I always appreciate how nature is there for us and doesn't depend on having a huge budget. Your appreciation of the simple things is something I share, and will share with my son. Love your sincerity! Thank you.
Hey Gemma, I feel exactly the same, some of the best ( and cheapest! ) trips I’ve had is simply getting out into nature! I hope the trek into the mountains 🏔 went well!😊
The memories you will be making with him and you will be sharing them forever! We camped a lot when I was growing up and they were the best holidays. I’m now 47 and my friend is 52 and we are going to start wild camping in Wales this summer! ❤
Wow! Wales is such a beautiful, underrated place. The scenery is immaculate. Greetings from Brazil, I love watching your videos. Thanks for sharing this content with us, Liam.
Liam, that was absolutely magical mate. You took us on an adventure without tired legs. You're a wizard at what you do with this channel. Feel like I've just had therapy. Priceless. I work shifts, days and nights and spend the rest of my time keeping up appearances and doing things at home or in the garden. The odd day metal detecting when I get the chance. What you do is who I am inside but circumstances mean I can't so readily. Watching your videos feels like I'm almost there. You're so likeable and just great to watch. Wales is so beautiful. I knew it was but watching this has made me realize it even more. I've been to Cardiff and Swansea but this was something else. I actually suggested going to Snowdonia with my brother-in-law. Completed the West Highland Way and did some circulars in the Lake District which was awesome. From Scotland but now lived in Portsmouth just over half my 40 years life. I love the outdoors. I embrace the rain on a hot day. Wind not so much. Rain on your face is just freedom but it can also be overwhelming if not the right kind :) You look like a free man in those videos and there's nothing quite like it. All the best buddy.
“Beware Frogs about!” That made me laugh out loud, absolutey brilliant. It’s a migratory toads crossing sign. Great to see actually because I’ve seen first hand a complete carnage of squashed toads, where they have nested, breeded and began crossing roads in search of water to mate. There was that many we were saving them as they were crossing but we were on foot. I don’t think cars even noticed. Anyway, lovely video of wonderful Wales. Thanks for sharing, its a great country with great people. Diolch Yn Fawr. Go steady. Alex.
the walk is one thing buddy, really lush but the video editing in this plus the scenes you are shooting plus the drone footage. i can tell how much effort you put into these. we are blessed. thank you for creating and sharing.
Makes me proud to be Welsh seeing how much you enjoyed it! And I’m made up that you have discovered the joys of cycling and bikepacking, it could open up a whole new world of adventure for you if you take it further afield, Europe etc, great content as always mate! X
I'm only 1/4 Welsh but vids like this make me proud too. I've lived in Norway since 2010 and it reminds me a lot of N Wales, except the coastline isn't as sandy over here. Growing up in a former industrial city made me realise that a lot of Welsh people literally walked to cities to find work. I'd love to see Liam experience the trails over here.
Excellent video! I'm planning a move to the UK in 2024 on an ancestry visa from Canada, and videos like yours keep me motivated and working hard to get there. My grandparents all come from Northern England and Scotland and despite having never been there, I feel called home. Thanks so much for this adventure.
I cycle toured the Lon Las which goes from Cardiff to Holyhead. 370 miles of absolute beauty. Lovely people, amazing views and a superb experience. You brilliant video brought it all back Liam. Thank you
Incredible mate.. Having come back to your channel after months away, not for any reason but being busy with 3 young children, a job driving trains at night, stuck in a cab watching the years tick away. Such an impressive film as all of yours are, you are the most humble bloke on TH-cam Liam and I can’t tell you how enjoyable your videos are. Your outlook on life is infectious mate. Never change and all the best 💪🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Great video Liam. I run a creative group of 25 here in San Diego. We produce a lot of video content. I can tell you you have very good story telling chops. You make the videos very personal and express the emotion of the moment that brings the viewer along with you. Mad props mi amigo. I’m a big fan!!
This is such a good quality video. They inspire me so much. I love that you don't put music on and we can hear the surrounding sounds of nature, as if we were there with you!
I absolutely loved that. I watched it again with wifey. I’m a North Walian, now living in South Wales so I’m very familiar with the routes and areas. The Taff Trail from Brecon to Cardiff is a lovely walk / ride, and after your video, I want to do it again. Thank you so much for this. 👍
@@nick-her9275 No sadly. I dropped it in school in favour of metalwork or something. My Mum’s first language is Welsh, but we spoke English at home. I know so much Welsh, I probably could learn if I put my mind to it. Some public sector jobs are Welsh essential roles. I’m embarrassed that I can’t.
Superb Liam. Watched every minute and could have watched an hour more. Thank you for visiting our country - you have experienced more of it than alot of us ever will. Hopefully you come back again soon 👍 P.s. Would love to see you do more of Wales' coastal path
Your previous videos inspired me to take my 13 year old son on our first ever camping trip, this video has now got me eager to dig my bike out of the shed and get peddling, so I just want to thank you and look forward to more videos.
"It's like I was in a tropical rainforest" Liam it's very very possible you were in a rainforest! Wales and Cornwall has Atlantic temperate rainforests :)
Halfords bikes are called bike shaped objects for a reason, they are badly made, cheap Chinese metal, and are, in a lot of cases, genuinely dangerous. Glad you got it sorted, Welsh folks are genuinely nice and helpful, especially in the Vallees!
I've had a wheel fall off a Halfords bike before I even cycled out of the car park. It's not the bikes so much as the inexperienced staff putting together the bikes.
It’s a bike for crying out loud they are not rocket science, most frames and components are made in China and Taiwan. You shouldn’t really make comments unless you know what your talking about just do a bit of research.
You hit the nail on the head about appreciating the little things in life - hot water, food, a roof over one's head. Great video, great journey, well done!
Your videos are sublime mate, they’re really soothing and I’m glad I stuck around after I was first introduced to your channel by the backpacking Britain video. It’s amazing to see someone my age (think you’re a couple years older as I’m 23) embracing the simple things in nature and not being sucked in to the classic shite a lot of our generation spend their time and money on.
Just love your spur of the moment decision to keep adventuring but on a bike. Love that you set a goal for twenty miles a day and you did that, but are also able to be so spontaneous.
At 27:10ish, thats the mountain road between Devils Bridge snd Rhydar. Absolutely fantastic bit of road to drive or cycle. Bleak and remote, but excellent 👍🙂🏴
Loved this vid. Really grounding to see your appreciation and gratitude for the basics of nature and the value of little acts of kindness like the dude who sorted your bike and the free cup of tetley. This is the way to live.
Hi Liam, so I've just come across your channel mate. Honestly, I'll be going through most of your content over time - I really like what you're doing and how down to earth you are. Literally the most normal guy on TH-cam; so happy you're doing what you love and try to inspire others. Might see you on the trail someday even mate, until then good luck bud and I hope you keep doing you! All the best bud 👍
Get yourself a poncho and a rain cap Liam! Walking Offa's Dyke in the same rain you experienced taught me that lesson. It goes right over your bag and the ventilation means you don't get wet inside from sweat! I'm watching this video readying to walk the Cambrian Way myself soon. Thank you for trail blazing!
Epic film, what an adventure. Cycle touring with camping gear is perfect. Cover decent distances, but can still slow down and stop almost anytime for a rest or to check out anything interesting you spot. Sort out a rack and panniers for the bike and you're laughing, works much better than a backpack. Enjoying the channel, many thanks.
My dear friend, this is truly an inspiring video to experience. It's absolutely soothing and relaxing to watch and let the experience speak for itself. As someone who travelled a lot and got lost in life, lost all the passion, the drive, the hunger for exploration I finally managed after years getting back out there, getting the feeling of an adventure and what it means to experience again the great feeling hiking, exploring, and travel gives you. Thank you so much for sharing this video, I am moved and inspired by you and the knowledge you share. Wishing you the best.
Class video and hats off to you Liam you are a fit determined lad. If you want to see a side of Wales you would never expect get yourself over to the Gower Peninsula, west of Swansea before the winter. There are numerous beaches that link to one another and they are outstanding. A trip definitely worthwhile!
I climbed Snowdon on Saturday and it was amazing, something especially peaceful doing it on my own, no talking just thinking and taking in the views. Also finished the day off with a fish and chips by Llyn Padarn lake
You're my absaolute favourite youtuber mate... such an enjoyable and easy but gripping watch. I would love to see a video of you doing an adventure on a students budget, getting all the kit and clothing on as small a budget as possible so I could mimmick it and take some of my student mates on an adventure !
Excellent as usual Liam. Any thoughts about travelling abroad for future hikes? You have covered most of the UK at this stage. You could try Ireland as a next step, Common Travel Area means you can drive the Van over, no bother, and spend as much time as you like here. Then there's the EU, wider Europe, and then obviously the Himalayan wonders spread across Pakistan, India and Nepal!
I am 17 minutes in to the video and absolutely loving it. I want to do a long walk like this but probably somewhere like the North Downs Way just as it's not too far away and a bit easier for me to get to. Great video, love the fact there are no special effects and it's just simple nice scenery and voiceover.
Brilliant camera work and editing, as always! Those signs warning of frogs on the road are quite common in parts of France, Germany and Switzerland. Sometimes there are even temporary speed limits at times when there are lots of frogs around.
I live in the Lake District and only started hiking a couple of years ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. It’s great for your mental health and your fitness I can highly recommend it to everyone. Keep doing you ❤
Really enjoyed this video, I think it is easy to think the world is a horrible place but when you get out and experience it the world is beautiful and people are kind :)
It’s amazing what you are doing, thank you for sharing 🤜 I like watching your videos, they are very well filmed and edited, well done Liam keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Liam, l think l might have said as much in one of your previous vids but, boy, not enough people are grateful these days. Everyone whinges these days about what they don't have and how it's all someone else's fault. I was brought up to be grateful for all the amazing things in life and to count one's blessings. Seems like you were, too ! Anyway, another cracking vid. Many thanks! 😊
So, I'm now thinking of pulling my old boots out, getting some new kit, and getting some adventures in. Thanks dude, I only found you yesterday... a couple of tips for you if I may, from an old soldier: I know you powder your feet, try keeping your powder in a large zip lock bag. You can then just put each foot in, saving mess, baby powder and space in your bag. Also invest in some boot liners. If you get your boot soaked, you can change your socks, powder your feet and put boot liners on, they'll stop your wet boots soaking your dry sock. Wear your wet socks around your neck to dry them on the go. Also, if you have any foil pack MRE meals and don't wanna stop to cook them, slide a pack down your back between your skin and the burgen and it'll take the chill out of it for when you eat it. Its been quite a few years since I last trekked anywhere outside of a city, your videos have woken the old me... as I remember stuff I'll mention it. You never know, maybe I'll see you on trail one day.
Liam, you are such an inspiration. I love watching your videos but I think this is one of your best ones yet. Great idea to buy a bike in Aberystwyth and cycle down to Cardiff. Your walk though was amazing. I love Wales and this shows why. You made me hungry with your Singapore Fried Rice. That's my 'go to' from a Chinese takeaway. Looking forward to watching your next adventure.
I’ve just come across these videos myself! Liam you’re a class lad really down to earth and funny. I have tears in my eyes sometimes, because I like you love the outdoors and nature. Keep on going lad. Amazing! 🪲🐌🦂🦉🦆🐔🦟🐞🐝🦇
Snowdonia is beautiful, I was born and raised there ☺️. You should check out the hills above Trefriw for the trek south along the Carneddau mountain range. Starting at Aber falls head south to Llyn Eigiau. From there go: Llyn Colwyd; down to Trefriw if you want to camp; then go up to Llyn Crafnant and cross over to Llyn Geirionydd; down to Betws y coed and onwards to Dolwyddelan. It's a beautiful trek 👌
Well done Liam that was one off the best times ,I enjoyed watching the adventure . I just love watching you and the guys giving it a go and wild camping. So inspires you to have a go at the weekends.
@LiamBrown, I’ve followed you for nearly a year now and I can’t believe you walked straight past my parents’ house at 14:46 - the white and blue/green house with the blue/green topped bird house hanging to the side! Such a small world! Of all the houses you must have walked past!
Great video! I’m 62, from Illinois, and love to hike & so wish I were close to those places. So many places aren’t safe for this lil ole grama to trek off by herself. Thanks for sharing. It was great.

Brilliant camera work and editing, as always! Those signs warning of frogs on the road are quite common in parts of France, Germany and Switzerland. Sometimes there are even temporary speed limits at times when there are lots of frogs around.
liam u are such an inspiration....wot a legend🤜🤛
My favourite creator. My inspiration and my favourite location! You My sir are a machine
Nice one. Been lookin fwd to this!😀😀😀
Loved the way that the subtitles picked up the sheep bleats as "hey" 🤣🥰
Excellent adventure! Love that you spontaneously extended the walk and then later bought a bicycle!
Excellent video, there is nothing better than a long walk in nature to escape and let the mind ramble, like you said, simplicity
Absolutely BRILLIANT young man. A joy to watch.
I"m glad you enjoyed our green and pleasant land Liam. You're always welcome in Wales Mate. 🏴🏴
Thanks dude, I only found you yesterday... a couple of tips for you if I may, from an old soldier:
I know you powder your feet, try keeping your powder in a large zip lock bag.
What a trooper! I loved watching your adventures and such a talented young man. Great filming, narrative and editing 😊👍💖
Really enjoyed this video. Wales is such a beautiful country. Thanks for sharing.
Super trip! Loved how you filmed so many aspects of the journey. Great job 👏🏻 🙋🏼♀️👍🏻🇺🇸
Fantastic vid Liam! Now you’ve got your bike you should do the ‘North Coast 500’ as your next big adventure!
I’ve just come across these videos myself! Liam you’re a class lad really down to earth and funny. I have tears in my eyes sometimes, because I like you love the outdoors and nature. Keep on going lad. Amazing! 🪲🐌🦂🦉🦆🐔🦟🐞🐝🦇
Just one word 'brilliant', well done, an amazing trip 👏👏
