Thanks for subscribing, there are a few places close that will, Old Stores more than most. I hope to do a follow up on a few options I know. Will also update as soon as the have a reopening date.
You edited out the best biker cafe around the area. Go to The Old Stores Biker Cafe. Much better atmosphere and nicer people. The Ponderosa is always closing through the winter when the pass becomes impassable, they decide on a day to day and week week to basis. Been known to close in the summer too when the heather catches fire.
@@izzy_the_biker_chick nothing against Old Stores, good cafe but 5 mins from my house so not worth stopping. The Ponder close on days the pass is closed in the last due to bad weather, and the actual road being closed, not because they decide to. Just like the Cat and Fiddle have to from time to time. Nature if the roads they are on.
Thanks Euro Biker, some of us know it well, and decide if we want it, as a place for stop and a chat, or to go to, if you have a discerning palete. Bloody nora. Its just a cafe
If you're on a ride out in the area and want some scran, just go to the Old Stores Motorbike Cafe in Pontblyddyn. Bike only parking and not a bad little place. I suppose the Ponerosa, just like many other businesses is going to be affected by the ridiculous cost of energey, business rate rises and other tax increases in the last budget. In the winter months, the Ponderosa was only really busy during the weekends. In the week, it was dead most of the time. That combined with all the before mentioned increases have most likely been the cause of this. The thing is, they have said they will re-open. But will they? When businesses start cutting back like this, it is a slippery slope.
@@paulrendell6510 I am going to make a follow up on this video with a couple of alternatives. So you can still have the ride out and get a mug of coffee and good food.

Hi watched your video and I had to come back and leave you this comment, I thought you would like to know, that I don't know what was going on with the quality as I played it in 2160 & 1440 & 1080p and the quality was terrible 😮 I even checked and it had the vp09 codex, but it didn't matter what quality settings it played it back in, the quality was like 360p. So I have no idea what was going on with it, So I'm not criticising in anyway just letting you know from one vloger to another. 👍🏻
@EuroBikerUK I think it might be TH-cam, if the original rendered file is of good quality. But I did have issues myself last month with one video I tried to upload, it was taking over 12 hours for TH-cam to process it, I deleted it and tried and, same thing happened, I ended up deleting that upload as well, and I completely rendered it in a different settings, which worked straight away 🤷🏻🤷🏻
@@davros8222 sorted it out. I have used the low quality preview file from the GoPro file list rather than the full quality. Also looks like I used the basic mp4 upload settings instead of the full 4k settings. Thanks for pointing this out, lesson learned 👍👍

Oh what a loss! As a meeting place for bikers, maybe. As a coffee place, certainly not. This must be one of the most soulless , cold places ever. Never has coffee been so insipid, tea so lukewarm as in the Ponderosa. Terrible. That may have been ok in a long lost past but it is the year 2024. Keep up with the rest of the world. Maybe, just maybe, they will use that break to think about their sins. I regularly ride the World's End and end up in the car park. Stopped buying food there a long time ago. @@johnwarner4513agree 100% about the journey. That's why I choose the World's End way of getting there. There are smaller coffee places than Costa to get great coffee. (ffs?)
I don't agree with your comment. I go there most Sunday mornings, the hot drinks are fine, the pasties are excellent - best I've ever tried. Plenty of seating, friendly staff.
