Honda NTV 650 - Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

Replacing the Gasket on the rear Valve cover after around 63km that NTV has run. And while I was fixing one thing, I created another problem... Definitely watch the video if you need to work on the Valve Covers!

Good job it wasn’t the front cover gasket, that looks a lot harder to service. I have a year 2000 NT650V so slightly different shape and styling, but so far experience tells me it’s a pain to do basic things on. Good video, thanks.

For the front cylinder you have to drain the cooling liquid and remove the radiator. Not a big problem at all! 😉😉😂😂🤜🤜

great video its very helpful to me thank you very much I have main gasket but thanks to you I now know I need to buy the two small seals and washers . it is for my faithful transalp 600 I used to own a ntv 650 before just like your one it impressed me so much I bought a transalp as my roads are not very good and I can now ride in the forest but the wheels corrode and its got a drive chain . over all I think the ntv is the better bike I would love another one with low miles like new but they are getting harder to find at any price .

After a couple of years of being without the transalp 600 . I have just bought a 2003 deuville 650 . It's it's low miles and beautiful in silver . I pick it up in 5 days I can't wait . Thank you again for this very helpful video .

Having done this with one of my NTVs and about to do it to my other, did you take your air box lid off and filter out to reseat the carb inlet rubbers cause you didn't in the video and I know from experience of doing valve checks on both of mine they can be pigs to get back in?

Working on my Deauville just now, I was wondering about that, "surely you can't just shove that on top and the rubbers put themselves back in?!"
I thought taking the filter out would be the answer, ta!

I would really like to see the gasket replacement for the other cylinder. The damage that was done with the cooling system was linked to that metal tube next to the cover? Thank you.

For the front gasket replacement you have to remove the complete cooling system which is a pain in the ass and I only had a leaking rear gasket. If at one point the front one starts leaking too, I will make a video about it. Yes, that metal tube was the cause of the leakage. Well, the seal on it was. But now everything is fixed and the bike is running great ever since. If in the future I have to fix something else, video is coming.

Dit is niet nodig. Als de motor koud is, zakt de olie naar beneden. Koelvloeistof mag ook gewoon erin blijven.
