Dude their lyrics are fantastic as well. I love how they genuinely sound dark and messed up in their words (especially obzen) while other bands just sound so basic and “kill everything, death, death, death”
when meshuggah came by on the last tour, i thought they weren't gonna have this song on the setlist. was walking away from the pit after humilative thinking they were gonna close with bleed and they played this song. never ran back faster in my life. sick cover for the heaviest metal song ever.
Ohhhhh my god I could feel the rush you felt as I read your comment. What a story, thanks for sharing! What a joy that music can make us feel like that.
YES! MESHUGGAH! Your playing is super tight and your mix captures the essence of this album amazingly! It's an improvement to the original in my honest opinion. I was checking your channel to see if you uploaded anything since your last upload. It's been a while but your quality is always top notch! AMAZING ❤
One of my best gig ever... May 1999, at Dynamo Open air, Mierlo, Eindhoven, at 2pm... Just amazing, powerfull, unique concert. I travelled almost 3000km to watch them live. Destroy Erase improve album it s just a master piece
FBM was the first Meshuggah song I ever heard and is still one of my all-time faves. That 7/8 over 4/4 breakdown and then the airy solo going into a tripleted chug. Headbang heaven. And you killed it, my dude. Love that Schecter KM7.
first time I heard Meshuggah was when Swedish radio aired one of their live sets on a show called P3 Live. This was before Destroy Erase Improve was released, so around 93-95. I recorded the show on my cassette player and listened over and over to this song. Been a fan since! Also, good job
What a story Olle. Thank you for sharing. I feel great nostalgia for something I haven't lived myself, and that's a beautiful feeling. Thank you as well!
An absolute BANGER of a song to cover and you did absolutely phenomenal work in every way, like always! You are a legend of this type of content, happy holidays
Unreal how clean and tight that is. No idea how much time you must have spent on that, but is was a massive pleasure to experience the result! Super inspiring.
Man, it's great having you back with a Meshuggah classic. Though Bleed may be their most popular song, this one surely is my favourite. Watched it live almost 10 years ago and it was absolutely incredible!
MAN 😭😭😭 I'm jealous! And I'll never forget coming up to you in choir class because you had a Meshuggah shirt on. "Este é cá dos meus" - I said to myself ❤ miss you!
I love Meshuggah's music, and I know their songwriting is always intricate and borderline insane. However, this song specifically is just fucking nuts. Also, holy shit this aged like fine wine. That breakdown in the middle of the song is literally insane. It's perfectly placed in the song to just feel like a kick in the face when you listen to it. Sometimes just listening to their instrumentation I just can't help but sit down and be in awe on how amazing their music is. You did justice to this song my friend! Good stuff.
Absolutely amazing work buddy. You nailed it, so clean. Testament to how far ahead of the curve Meshuggah are is that this still features in their sets.
Mon ami it feels good to see you back 🤩 This band isn't my cup of tea but it was a pleasure to discover the song through your cover, sick performance and mix as always ❤
Thank you so much forever friend ❤ I'd advise you to look into this very early Meshuggah, it's crazy in a very different way and you might vibe with it. Glad you like the sound 😊
Classic! First time I heard this song was at this small club near my hometown, they had just released Catch 33 at the time. I wasn't into them at this point and I was there to see God Forbid but once they played those opening notes, I was like, "wtf is this?!" Well done, as always!
Man God Forbid rules too. At least Meshuggah got their flowers eventually. This generation hardly knows God Forbid. They were prob the most violent band in New Jersey at one point. They wrote some straight ASS BEATERS but were also metal af and melodic.
Nice, what an unexpected and welcomed cover! If you ever feel like recording and releasing a cover of this entire album I’d honestly listen to yours over theirs lol. Mix and sound quality are so much better.
