Ola, PLEASE offer this guitar in a 7 string. I love my Ibanez M80M tone-wise, but I don't like the neck width at all with 8 strings. I want to go to a 7 string with roughly the same scale length as the M80M. If you offer this guitar in a 7 string, I promise to buy one. I want to keep my low F#, but with a longer scale 7 string. Plus, I'd love to have it to use on the new Inferion album and upcoming South American tour.
I’ve always had a hard time understanding the Chaosphere tone; is it scooped? Or does it have a lot of mids? It’s honestly so hard to tell because there are ZERO sustained notes or chords on the album. The ENTIRE album. The pre-outro riff from NMCC you played has the longest notes on the whole record!
@@OlaEnglund absolutely. I’m trying to remember if there’s any parts where it’s just guitars playing without bass… I think the ending of Sane might be the only part, but the guitars are swapping off left and right in stereo, so it’s hard to even get a clear image of the tone!
I just wanna add that this album has one of my favorite Meshuggah breaks of all time. That middle sequence of breakdowns in Corridor of Chameleons make my jaw drop to this day, it's just so impossibly groovy and heavy. Filthy.

Meshuggah used the "Integrated Preamp" units a lot back then I believe. The key to all of these is the Baxandall EQ curves, which cause a mid boost when you turn the low shelf down.
Yes this was such an era. Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad did City and Machine Head did Burn My Eyes, such a great time for extreme metal.
This tone is brutal as hell. The guitar as well. :) Really liked in the Meshuggah song that you nailed that high bass sound as well. That's huge part of their sound, even on Contradictions Collapse.
This might be the most brutal tone you've ever set up on this channel, and that's really saying something. That Solar sounds absolutely disgusting, yet so clear 🔥😈
I know Fredrik used an Ibanez Universe that he used on most if not all of their older albums, Contradictions Collapse that I know of for sure. There's a channel on here that has videos of them in the studio going back that far and for every album and ep up until Nothing I believe, and interesting enough on Contradictions Collapse Fredrik and Jens both played guitar and both did the vocals, I guess the None EP is where Jens moved to only vocals and Fredrik moved to only guitar.
Chef's kiss, my guy. I remember when you released a Roadster vid RIGHT after I sold mine to offset the cost of a Mark V:90 and I immediately got seller's remorse. I should've just kept both! Sounds so unbelievably good, including the CLEAN channel (so much dimension to it)!
A 29“ A1 with Evertune bridge from SOLAR? This might be the best news in a long long time. I am definitely going to get one, Ola! Thank you so much for listening to the community. This is awesome. 🤩
It's so all about the scale! I've got 28.3" and 27" for my low tunings( A-a, C-c) and the note separation is incredible. Very piano like when played clean. Another luthier friend of mine said that right around 28" is the sweet spot to still sound like guitars longer tends to sound more like bass.
Dude OLA you always just seem to cover and explain everything I absolutely love about metal just saying thanks for pushing the best metal ever created on your channel your a sic bastard

Amazing individual note clarity on chords when you clicked on the t.c. unit. Made it much more interesting to listen to. Judging by your reaction, more fun to play as well.
Great video man. What strikes me is, compared to the latest albums where I found the tone to be very "organic", on this album it's such a dry wall in your face.
