But then again considering the fact that EA puts idiotic MTX and online requirements into most of their games, it's no surprise.
exactly, the streets would always be less busy at night, shopping areas would be desolate and the fact you’d see rich neighborhoods, and rundown ones was what sold it for me, so much detail hidden by the awful mechanics
this is probably my favorite series on youtube right now (apart from the cities skylines 2 dev log, because obvious reasons are obvious ;D). i have never been able to play this game when i was younger, and seeing it now played by you is honestly quite nostalgic- and really fun. i'm looking forward to episode 3 :)

indeed the level of water available decreses over time but when your screen is a little foggy, if you zoom in the city, you'll see that it's raining, and the rain will rise up the water available so no worry. Also, meteors makes the ground radioactive, so I advise you to check the radiactivity in your area to be sure : >

In the new Dev Diary for Cities: Skylines II for Services, they´ve confirmed what was shown in a microsecond of the trailer that City Services DO get plopable upgrades instead of having to place multiple same buildings according to citizen demand :D Also a few things I´d like to add, the thing about Tourism / Casino specialties in general is, they´re very expensive to keep up, but can turn very huge profitability if there´s a constant influx of tourists in you city. I don´t remember exactly how tourists worked, but I think they had a system of they visit once your city and never comeback, so you gotta make the most out of them while they are staying. The thing about them is they require quite a sizeable population to have no low times like you experimented with your renewed casino or the second one you placed. Or, alternatively, you could make other cities in the region with sizeable populations and they´ll come to the casinos in this city you placed. The way you´re doing it right now is pretty good too, since Oil makes you lots of money compared to what you need to invest in upkeep, this gives you room to spend money as your building tourist attractiveness & desirability. Edit: Almost forgot to say, I´m also quite surprised you haven´t run out of oil yet. It seems they patch that glitch. Basically it made stuff like Oil and other natural resources run out in around a year or so. Your´s has managed to stay for a few years now, so it seems it did got fixed, thank goodness.

So many things about this game are distant at this point 😅 I believe the tourists will mainly come.from other cities, so to utilize this to the fullest I would have to build those and set up regional mass transit. The resources surprised me as well as read that they are depleting at some point, but maybe that has been patched 🤔
the optimal tax rate is 12% for low wealth, 11% for medium wealth and 10% for high wealth. that's the cap for no impact on sims happiness, above that makes them mad and they only get happiness boost at 7%-6%-5% tax rate. please note that the taxes from 8% to 11% (for low wealth) are also neutral and setting them like this just makes you lose out on profits. to unlock different tax rates for all the wealth levels you gotta place the department of finance.

It feels nice to go back to this Simcity time after time it’s a guilty pleasure but unfortunately too limited in its scope. I’m going to miss Simcity but after CS2 comes out I’m never coming back to it. Because CS2 is the NextGen Simcity 4 but greater in every possible metric and each developer diary just makes it even better.
I have high hopes for CS 2 as well! I just hope it delivers 😅 not to afraid though, but you never know. SimCity just presents some nostalgia to me that CS 1-2 cannot, at least not yet 😄

Ah man, what a recommendation from youtube, such a nostalgia hit. I just graduated from school and I am about to go to university, and I started playing this game when I was in a 3rd-ish grade, it was 8 years ago. I played a lot, and this was one of the first games I have ever played on pc. I remember going back from school, asking parents to pass me pc, just to launch this game and build district by district, city by city. And now, watching this video, I want to play simcity, despite that I already bought cities skylines which is far better. I still miss an option to upgrade buildings instead of stacking them up, and in my opinion simcity has a better attention to details, and for me this game feels better, probably bc of nostalgia. Regarding your videos. They are easy to watch and you questionable decisions are quite funny, I am really looking forward to watch your upcomming videos, keep it up

I just bought all SimCity extentions for $1 for this month by EA subscription. I love cities of tomorrow so much. It's like refreshing after playing years ago.
The multi city functionality is really good in this game and that’s how I played it. I’d have one full of mostly just citizens and then others for industry
Despite all that space problem i kind of still prefer this increasing density gradually dynamic rather than the exclusive high density zones of CS!!! (Also, great job again)

Didn't watch it yet, but I unironically consider SimCity 2013 superior to Cities: Skyline. It's absolutely playable right out of the box, without the mods. But with mods, it is even more awesome: MegaTowers, various industries, mini-quests, shareable services with neighbor regions, upgradable buildings, etc.

Bus routes need a count direction. On a route ABCDEFA to get from E to D you need to travel and occupy a bus seat from EFABCD. Better another route AFEDCBA.
this game just made me interested in simcity 4, and i am thankful for that. simcity 4 is one of the best city builders of ALL TIME, no one can tell me otherwise. that shit SLAPS. well, cities skylines is probably second best. still very good.
Recently switched over to another city in the region. That kinda rekindled the flame, though I get what you're saying. Being used to Cities Skylines you run out of space really fast 😅
It's a good game. It would have been better without EA being annoying but I think it is a more deep simulation than Skylines. Not for traffic which but socioeconomic ect. Small plots suck but if you just want to play a pick up game on a multiplayer map its really not a bad size. I also like picking up abandoned cities and fixing them up and seeing other peoples creations. Specialization is a fun minigame. Multiplayer being not very reactive is annoying. It's really cool how the city actually looks run down when its not working well. Not just zots and abandonment. Managing finances can be difficult even in the late game. Hoping modular buildings isn't the only feature skylines 2 steals from this. All that said Skylines is the better game overall but people hate on this game way too much. Yeah the launch sucked and it wasn't what people really wanted but it is fun and I put 1000 hours into it which is rare for me.
Water hack Put water treatment (bulldoze the default circle treatment, build only the upgraded circle) next to the big water building. Best tax Upgrade city hall - Finance building Tax maximization 12 11 10 12 11 10 12 11 10 - anything higher sims will complain high tax, anything lower speeds up increased density.
You cannot place bus stop if you want your bus to be useful for casinos. You want your regional bus depot right next to casinos, and no bus stop anywhere. That way, the bus will only transfer tourist to go to casinos. Regular buses are useless, 80% of the time is empty and stuck at traffic. Only use regional bus for casinos

Because cities are not-so-good in changing workers between them, it will be better to build a different value parks, to stick to the scales, that were in the menu, when you choose the residential zone

SimCity in my opinion is a lot easier than Cities Skylines, I am so sad this game had a failure of a launch, I think with love from EA this game could be bigger like expanding the plots and a bit of content because later on in the game it is harder to manage space with the amount of things you can place.

Recently switched over to another city in the region. That kinda rekindled the flame, though I get what you're saying. Being used to Cities Skylines you run out of space really fast 😅

It's a good game. It would have been better without EA being annoying but I think it is a more deep simulation than Skylines. Not for traffic which but socioeconomic ect. Small plots suck but if you just want to play a pick up game on a multiplayer map its really not a bad size. I also like picking up abandoned cities and fixing them up and seeing other peoples creations. Specialization is a fun minigame. Multiplayer being not very reactive is annoying. It's really cool how the city actually looks run down when its not working well. Not just zots and abandonment. Managing finances can be difficult even in the late game. Hoping modular buildings isn't the only feature skylines 2 steals from this. All that said Skylines is the better game overall but people hate on this game way too much. Yeah the launch sucked and it wasn't what people really wanted but it is fun and I put 1000 hours into it which is rare for me.
you should definetly build more cities and also do a great works.

You cannot place bus stop if you want your bus to be useful for casinos. You want your regional bus depot right next to casinos, and no bus stop anywhere. That way, the bus will only transfer tourist to go to casinos. Regular buses are useless, 80% of the time is empty and stuck at traffic. Only use regional bus for casinos

From my experience I can say that full high value city can exist, but with some problems. Because cities are not-so-good in changing workers between them, it will be better to build a different value parks, to stick to the scales, that were in the menu, when you choose the residential zone

SimCity in my opinion is a lot easier than Cities Skylines, I am so sad this game had a failure of a launch, I think with love from EA this game could be bigger like expanding the plots and a bit of content because later on in the game it is harder to manage space with the amount of things you can place.
Would be interesting to see what EA or Maxis would do with a sequel or reboot of the franchise 🤔
@@victiusplays I would be down 100% for it to be rebooted or a sequel however with EA I feel as if they are very overpriced with minimal content seeing how the franchise is with The Sims 4 and more it's a sad sight however I'd love another online city game to play with friends!
