I know Derek was the love of her life, and I loved Derek for her, but with Patrick leaving the show all those years ago (glad he could come back 2 seasons ago for beach scenes though), its nice to see Meredith happy. She tried with others, but this seems real. He gets her, and it makes sense. She has her kids, they're around the same age, I think? And they work well against each other. She's damaged for sure, but he has his baggage too. I hope the writers give her a happy ending honestly, but this is Greys after all...
In real life he would not date her. She’s too selfish, too old, and unreliable partner. In all honesty Derek would not have married her either or if he did the marriage would not have survived because of her selfishness.

She has many times risked her own life or her career to help another person - sometimes someone she loved, sometimes even a stranger. Yes, even though he saw bits and pieces of how people were talking to her I don't think he entirely realised just how under attack she was from all sides at the time, and how much she really needed to feel like she at least had one person to be on her side... At the same time, I can understand why he was angry that day, and I can understand why he would be so hurt that she didn't call him for 6 months.

I have actually never met a parent who would be fine with their kid taking a year off university to go to south america and do psychedelic workshops. That just seems completely utterly normal and standard as a first reaction to me. I can't imagine any parent not freaking out, at least initially. And it took him just one conversation to accept it that same weekend... waaaaaaay more easily than any other parent I've known.

I feel awful for Zola. Watching a child turn into an adult they also come to grips with the reality that we will all die one day. Some people go numb, some cry, some get mad, some panic. As someone who has anxiety I feel her pain. For her specifically, she knows what genetic issues will face her own mother.

Even if she doesn't remember every detail, she would remember the pain and fear of knowing your parent can be gone one day and never come back.

I think they wouldn't make their relationship completely smooth either way. They need to give them a few obstacles along the way, which also helps them learn to handle problems together and get to know each other better. (And us get to know him).
Mer doesn't have stress than Bailey, Mer is doing great plus bailey ignored hiring new Dr's while Mer doing it and even bailey herself is jealous of her, and here Mer was trying to explain to Nick why she told him to go back to Mayo and explaining her feelings to him, so Mer is handling the job well unlike bailey who took the chair in S12 and immediately started changing and bossing people around and commanding even Richard told her the same thing

He is not. I love Derek and I always will, but Nick is super different from him. I can't say exactly what, but I think it's his humility and sensibility that make the difference. He's a person who, despite his problems, doesn't blow up when he gets angry, or blame it on others. He loves Meredith, he fought for her a lot, but he also knows his worth and respects himself without being arrogant.
I think it is shameful that Shonda Rhimes is lying about the issues of abortion on the next episode. I won't watch this show any longer! Just disgusting!
