There's (or was) an old black man off 69th with a Confederate uniform that was passed down in his family with documents sitting in a closet. Wasn't expecting to walk in to work on a house on the south side and see the battle flag of Virginia and then being shown the actual Confederate flag and uniform because I gave a thumbs up to the batte flag.

I'm a white musician who had a gig in Chicago. I got lost and ran out of gas in the Southside. I had $3,000 worth of guitars and other equipment. I was pretty freaked out since the neighborhood looked very sketchy. Three kids around 15 or 16 came to my rescue. I gave one $20 for a gas can and gas. The other two stood by me until the third got back. They wouldn't take any money but they did accept a meal at a local establishment that was excellent! I had a better time with those kids than the rest of my time in Chicago.

I’m totally in agreement with these people. Why isn’t our government more helpful to the loyal citizens who have been here. It’s great to help less fortunate people, but I’m about to turn 60, lived in the Chicago area all my life, raised my 3 children as a single widow of a Viet Nam veteran. I worked 3 jobs & the government told me that the most they could do to help me raise my children would be $75.00 a year for their education but it would be taxable. I told them what they could do with it! Now I had to leave Chicago & move to a little town & my children also had to leave Chicago. I’m alone, crippled & can’t get even medical assistance. I’m confident I’ll die alone in my house & nobody will find me for weeks. But this is an ongoing generational problem that nobody wants to do anything about. Give the new generation a chance to have a better life. They don’t deserve to think that life is hopeless & they don’t have options & they’ll just live to survive & then survive to live.

Capitalistic systems discourage community of any kind, and I see many people in the UK isolated through greed, corruption and deceit. The separation between haves and have nots grows ever bigger, materially; but our spirit can still find solace within, although this is helped if we can find an oasis of like-minded good people. I am thinking of joining a community farm, or a native reservation. At least some people care in these places, although their resources may not be huge, their hearts are! Hope your life improves, and does not follow the lonely path you described.

It’s not capitalist that’s messing up black people, it’s the plantation politics of the Democratic Party. For example, black people are doing better, do what do Democrats do? They bring in migrants to lower wages and take away successful programs and resources from blacks. They don’t keep criminals aren’t prosecuted or let out early. It’s all done on purpose.

everything but the emit till story, emit tills daddy was sent away because he beat mamie till to a pulp, he was given the choice in court to serve jail time or fight in WW2. He chose to fight. during his tour, he chose to rape and murder two Italian women. The media loves ignoring this part because it would mean that emit tills daddy was a tried a convicted rapist. BTW the women never recanted the accusation. blacks in jewish media venues have tried to claim that with no proof. because it makes emit seem more like a random victim than the prowling opportunistic like his daddy was. don't be a race cucked retard and worship cultural negrosis in a feigned effot to seem cool, in touch, and progressive. Most are not articulate, my family left the South Side in the 60's. It was the race riots that did the area in, and threats to my grandparents lives simply because they were the last Whites to live in the area. blacks don't have a liking to White people, they are taught by every corner of their culture to blame us for their faults. Don't be a complete nonce to that.

It's almost like all the white people ran out of Detroit and left the city to be run by black people believe me they are doing a horrible job. Detroit at one time was the capitol murder in America. I do believe Detroit is still up there in murders. Watch the videos of Detroit and see every other house is boarded up. I'm a truck driver over the road been to all states in America but Detroit is the worst one. Why don't a bunch of you rich black people move to Detroit to help build that city because it looks like America abandon Detroit blacks you must try to bring it back to life. This is in stark contrast to his last video where the police officer seemed to express doom and gloom. This video shows the folks in this neighborhood are coming together to help each other, bring down crime, give back to their communities. Solutions, giving back, advocating for doing what is needed in their communities. Love this.

@@ruiz1871 Agreed. Unfortunately the police officer just seemed so resistant to accept that change is needed in policing everywhere. Its ok to evolve and still do their jobs. He was just way too political with his blame. Its sad to see.

Thank you Peter for bringing peoples voices to be heard and allowing people to tell their stories!
I'm in agreement with helping Generational Americans First. I'm not sure why our current Govt. Is turning their heads and looking away on their own. While allowing the outrageous amounts of illegal immigrants to freely cross the borders and... sending Billions of dollars to other countries before taking care of their own.
I sincerely appreciate today's guide around South Chicago. I'm relieved to hear his personal testimony that the Jewish and the Blacks lived together in peace and prosperity. This shows that people Do get along well and help with eachother. This is the brotherly love and priciples of what America is built on.
The way I see it - it's the Government mismanagement and the Media narrative that is causing and promoting the division and unrest with the Americans. I could be wrong and I hope and pray to God that I'm wrong.
We must continue to help eachother and be resourceful among ourselves so we can be strengthened.
God Bless you and God Bless America! 🇺🇸

@christycarpii647. That is a true story about many communities un Chicago especially the South Shore & Bronzville area. Both groups got along and supported each other one way or the other. It was the center of the City and a few short blocks from the lake & far more space then the Northside which the city invested more money their, butl the Southside has more land. They want it back for sure by any means necessary. 🤔

@christycarpio You are correct in your assessment. I hope that people realize that we as citizen's have more in common then some will ever admit. It's that privileged mentally some will never let go of. Until it all becomes revealed. So sad and unfortunate, but it all has been written and so it shall be.

You do realize that we have enough money to both help our own and people in other countries right? This also conveniently ignores the fact that immigrants are coming here partially due to harmful trade policies conducted by United States influence.

Man, Dilla's one impressive man. So above and beyond regarding all the fine details of Chicago history, the good and bad, the past, current and future. Powerful. Exactly the kind of person we need everywhere. Excellent video. Thanks to you both.
I remember visiting the south side several times as a young man from the North Side in the '90s, and also meeting a bunch of people from down there. It was certainly more edgy than up north, but it had a lot of a certain kind of down-to-earth spirit that the north lacked. But I admit that the area surrounding the University of Chicago was kind of scary for a skinny white boy originally from the suburbs out East.
