- Today, we go for a ride in my friend's 2JZ Swapped Hyundai Genesis! Car is having some coil pack issues and its only making about 400whp. I will do another review later this month when its actually making 700-800whp!

I have a brand new Genesis 3.8 rspec, with a 10 year/100k warranty and I'm considering throwing it all away for the sake of this swap. I probably won't, but god damn that sounds so good

A friend of mine bought a used 2014 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Ultimate 6-Speed M/T. It was pretty spicy with the stock 348hp. He ended up turbo charging it and really unleashed the beast!

almost bought this a few months ago, the owner in FL was making crazy claim on current whp, called the shop that built it and said that 400whp was the final numbers after several dynos, he bought it up north already built and was claiming he did the build himself
That car was built in Florida by a shop called awd motor sports, they did it because they had 2jz laying around in there shop
Curious how tough the clutch is to get out of 1st. My friend has an Evo VIII and I was embarrassed it took me over 6 tries to get it out of first gear. Not sure what his setup was though but you can change gears without engaging the clutch. Sucker's fast.

Random question on this build, how did they hide all the wiring? Like I'm getting a mustang and the wiring harness and all of that is a mess in the engine bay...
If you actually dive down in the engine bay and look, the wiring isn't hidden all that well. It's just kinda stuffed down on the side. lol

I wouldn't be comfortable over 600hp with the r154, for much more than that power then, I would recommend the v160 they are upwards of 7k but would be the most reliable and are mated to the 2jz in 6 speed Supras, or even cd009 I have heard are getting common, which are pretty hit and miss for his power goals, and are pretty cheap and easy to find at around 1k plus about another 1k to swap it since you would new mounts bellhousing etc.

Me too but money doesn't grow on trees. Also it's hard to keep all the nice interior. The cruise control and the up volume on the steering wheel to work.
