In comparison to this is300-2jz-turbo, if the suspension was sorted out, ala camber, tie and castor, dampeners, springs and sway bars, do you think it would HANDLE AS WELLl as an IS-F? Love this car. Toyota really got it right when they designed this body. The only down side to this car was it didnt come with a manual in the US. This swap is dope.
Mark Halvorsen Sorry it got cut off. All I'm saying is that you clearly don't know what your talking about. People who act like they know what there talking about is what kills the car scene in it's online form
Mark Halvorsen I live in Nebraska and in the last couple months I've probably seen around 10 on Craigslist with manual and low miles. Instead of just assuming they don't exist, take the 3 seconds to do a google search bud
+The Boss Big money. Like $75k or something. The car's probably worth that to the right buyer, just not to me. It's a '98 TT, triple black, with less than 20,000 miles and two engines, the stock one and a 1,000 HP one. He's had it "for sale" for like 3 years though. He just prices them really high, and if someone bites, he sells.
TheSmokingTire Didn't know it was such low mileage. In that case it sounds about right. The prices on Supra's have definitely been on the incline lately, but you are 100% correct - definitely for the right buyer. I think a lot of "top-shelf" Supra owners have that mentality. Honestly I'm guilty myself, asking $70k for mine. If it sells - it sells, if it doesn't, I'll continue to enjoy it for another 15+ years. Having said that, I do know someone who is looking for a '98 black on black original low-mile 6sp car, will pass on the info. Thank you for great videos. Enjoy them all.
+The Boss Prices on Supra's have been high for years. I remember back in 08' i was looking for one. And a close to stock 99' AUTO was almost 23k with low mileage. Couldn't even find a Manual under 20k of any year.
He said the engine was swapped to a JZ GE none turbo. So, now h'es running with a twin turbo swap. The The 2JZ-GTE comes twin turbo stock and JZ GE comes stock with out any turbo
The owner has the charisma of a potato. I bet he goes to car meets and stands next to his car and when people stop by to talk to him, he becomes a know it all.
Not a Lexus fan... But this car could change that. I love a good boxy sedan. I LOVE those gauge clusters with the chronograph feel. Add in a manual transmission, a inline 6, and some turbo noises... And I'm sold.
Just bought a is300 '01 that was hit by a deer for $1000 usd. I'm putting about $1500 into it, and it's gonna be great. I love the car. It's old, but could be a 2016 if it wanted to. It's just so good looking. Thinking of keeping it stock because it has a auto trans. But, bought it for $1000, it runs, 150k miles, good enough for me.
I have a 2001 with 168,000 miles on it when I bought it and right now it has 240,000 miles on it and I pay $1800 with a little damage to the rear side. good design and good platform to do something more powerful.
I know your comment was 7 months ago, but....I agree, $12K seems like a lot. But His already had the 2jz gte installed, in place of the original ge engine, and probably already had the manual swap done, as the car was originally auto. So considering the work (swaps) already done, $12K was probably not a bad price. Considering the price to add turbo to boost it, an awesome car for well under $20K, as I think the old IS is a really great looking car. Original early 2000’s IS 300’s in pretty good original cond are selling for $4K - $12K in my area, depending on mileage and condition.
I live in northern Alabama and I just picked my is300 up for $3800. It's has 150k and it's a 1 owner car. The only is300s I saw for more than like 6k were either clean wagons or built cars.
+Marty Mcfly Williams I mean, the GTE has build cams, rods, valve springs, and the block is known to hold 800-900 reliably. The GE on the other hand blows around 330-400hp. Plus to build the GE is to basically turn it into a GTE since most people use the GTE block as a base anyways.
+Mellow Gaming It's just about the same before VVTI. VVTi models had smaller rods though. Replace those and you're good. The non vvti al you need is a GTE head gasket. Heads flow pretty similar. 2j doesn't hold 800-900 'reliably'. Lol.
+No well considering the stock turbos don't hold anymore than 17.4 psi you'd be correct. But a single turbo build and bigger injectors yeah, the GTE actually makes a ton of power reliably without a lot of money. Considering the record stock motor GTE (turbos and injectors aside) took 1080 whp before it blew.
I live right around Escondido in north San Diego and have a stock 5spd 2002 is300. Cannot wait to turbo it with GTE internals!! This video and car is a huge inspiration! Hope to see this car around sometime!

Awesome video, glad to finally see an IS300!
why did he say "twin turbo swap" and then say "single turbo" ? the fuck
He said the engine was swapped to a JZ GE none turbo. So, now h'es running with a twin turbo swap. The The 2JZ-GTE comes twin turbo stock and JZ GE comes stock with out any turbo
Aristo motor is a tt motor but it looks like he ditched the twins for a single later on.
I have 236,900 on my 04 and it is my every day hero. The best car I have ever owned.
The owner has the charisma of a potato. I bet he goes to car meets and stands next to his car and when people stop by to talk to him, he becomes a know it all.
He perfectly reflect his car persona, they don't show their full personality from first meet.
Not a Lexus fan... But this car could change that. I love a good boxy sedan. I LOVE those gauge clusters with the chronograph feel. Add in a manual transmission, a inline 6, and some turbo noises... And I'm sold.
What did the fox say
Just bought a is300 '01 that was hit by a deer for $1000 usd. I'm putting about $1500 into it, and it's gonna be great. I love the car. It's old, but could be a 2016 if it wanted to. It's just so good looking. Thinking of keeping it stock because it has a auto trans. But, bought it for $1000, it runs, 150k miles, good enough for me.
12k is a score? i bought a lightly crashed 06 is350 for $1,600
Bryant munoz lol i was thinking the same thing
Bryant munoz Apples and watermelons dude.
BMCHINO • Does that is350 have 550HP? i bet not...
crashed* it's not original now.
lightly crashed and no 2JZ...
I have a 2001 with 168,000 miles on it when I bought it and right now it has 240,000 miles on it and I pay $1800 with a little damage to the rear side. good design and good platform to do something more powerful.
This I wired. I have a 2005 lexus is300 and I got it for 2k.. it has a 9/10 interior and a 8/10 exterior.. don't see how he got his for 12k
@@scottgoodson5132 i live in NY and you can find a standard is300 starting from 4k
I live in northern Alabama and I just picked my is300 up for $3800. It's has 150k and it's a 1 owner car. The only is300s I saw for more than like 6k were either clean wagons or built cars.
this episode convinced me to get an is. 5speed with much more power to grow. fucking love its reliability
Yeah mine has pushed over 200,000 and it still runs on stock everything
Is anyone else shocked that its on stock suspension besides me?
+David Ha Pretty crazy yeah. It's like Usain Bolt running in Vans or something lmao
+Jimmy M I think he was about to get our the car too once he heard that it's on stock suspensions lol
+Jimmy M i love this analogy
Did a pretty decent job
Thanks god. Finally an is300. Jesus about damn time!!!
12k for a 01 is300 ouchhh & I have the Same Car with 180k miles and mine cost 3k great condition and I tough I had a good deal
This one came with the engine swap.
I paid 1,500 for mine at same mileage
M1911PH Good deal bro
i just paid 5k for my 2002 is 300 128 k miles forrest green love it
Uk you get them around £800-£2000
It's about time someone brought an is300 down 😄
You played yourself it already has a 2jz 😉
Yeah but the NA 2JZGE is trash compared to the GTE.
Mellow Gaming you go a point there lol.
Considering the record stock motor GTE (turbos and injectors aside) took 1080 whp before it blew.
took my GenCoupe 2.0T on that road that goes from Escondido to Fallbrook. awesome drive
DAMN DAN!!! BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH THE 2J IS!!!
Eh orions is meaner
+Brandon Green except this one wont go up in flames
+Brandon Green He has a stock auto GS with no power, how is it meaner? Lol
+328fuck twin turbo bruh bruh
+Brandon Green 2jzs stock come with twin turbos, single turbo conversations make more power you dip shit.
MrDatjewboy Onion's was a NA by default, he put 2 ebay turbos on it.
That badge on the back is genius!
its needs a ls2 instead of a 2jz
yeah ri lol
Yeah that would interesting..........
+Richard Harrold no just stop
+Tommy Donnelly although the is-f is a v8..
+Tommy Donnelly word
the IS300 with a 2jz is definitely such a badass car with a lot of tuning potential
+b00st3d BMW it comes with a 2jz stock, GTE on the other hand is a bad ass engine
I live right around Escondido in north San Diego and have a stock 5spd 2002 is300. Cannot wait to turbo it with GTE internals!! This video and car is a huge inspiration! Hope to see this car around sometime!
I dont watch sports anymore but I still peeped the All Blacks jumper Matt's rocking.
i had so many memories with this car... especially on midnight 3 its a psp game in late 2007's when PSP was still a thing lol i miss this car
This was always my dream build for a daily sedan. 2j IS Gen1.
I've been waiting for this vid for such a long time
I have a 2002 NA is300 with 257k miles on it, never 1 major issue with the engine. I kind of want to boost it.
