@@SugarFiveZero Thank you. It was part of our Turtleback trailer. We show the new Joolca shower tent in our most recent video titled Georgetown Colorado.
For all those watching in 2024... the 23 Zero now has all these features included; shower holder, roof covering, even FLOOR covering (stake down 36" x36"), LED light, some toiletry pouches and what not. I guess they improved to keep up with their competitors. All in all good video tho! Came here looking for a review on it.
Why not get one or two spring steel rods to bend or bow and place over the roof top for support... much like those old school tonneau cover for a truck bed... just drill two corresponding holes in the swing arms?
My 23Zero shower tent has an LED light and most of the other things the Darche has. Maybe it is a different model in Australia. The only thing I can see that is really missing from mine is a roof. That would be nice to have but the problem can really be fixed with a small tarp if I ever really need it.
That is a Turtleback trailer part. There really isn’t much to it. It’s all aluminum. If you want to build one or have one like it built for you I can send you close up pics.
We like the Joolca better. We ordered ours several months ago. Hope to have it in a few weeks. The Darche is good but too short for me. The swing out arms also droop down but the Joolca arms are supposed to stay level. We will add a light strip to our Joolca. I hope the Joolca quality is as good as we hope.
@@RebeccaTiffany1 yes we have the Joolca now. We haven’t mounted it yet. It mounts a little different so we have a minor mod to make to our swing arm. So far the build quality looks very good.
They can be hung on the side draped over the top side of the tent. There is also a hanging area inside the tent. Or, in our case, we can set them on the trailer and unzip the access door to reach them. Lots of options. Same for a towel too.
Looks like a quality piece of kit. Our car is very tight for space (Land Rover 110) , so I thought about using it to store the fridge at night. With the roof on it should be sheltered enough from rain . It would also reduce the noise in the car. I would probably run the LED light from a battery bank rather than a USB socket. Are you still happy with it?
We have been very happy with it with really only one exception. I wish it was taller from the ground up. With it snug to the ground it is a little short for me. In warmer temps it could be raised up but in cooler temps I like to avoid and gaps that could allow cool air in. So, we are selling our Darche and are installing at Joolca. It’s plenty tall. If I was a few inches shorter the Darche would be great. I’m 6’1”. Keep in mind that a hard rain will pool on to of any flat roofed tent or awning. This could cause the Darche roof to dump water inside and soak your fridge.
that's a really nice option for privacy but almost better to cut out the wind. the drawback is they are triple the price I paid for my Overland Vehicle Systems shower tent.
The 23Zero Kestrel has a top, black material, internal shower caddy pockets and a floor. It also has an LED light strip. You point about it being too low has nothing to do with the product and all to do with how low it is mounted. I will stick with the 23Zero. BTW, nice Turtleback!
Too short to cover from the ground up. Yes, we could have raised it up allowing air to come into the shower tent but if you are showering in 30 degrees... I'll seal up as much as possible. We have since sold ed this with an amazing shower tent.
Nice review. That is so much nicer than the 23 Zero. I would imagine it keeps the heat in better too. I think this video just cost me several hundred dollars 😉 Have you thought about mounting it on the tent?
That might be an option. It might be open to the bottom if it’s too high. Alucab makes a taller shower tent for mounting to taller rigs. Not sure if it has a too tho.
I would have mounted it to the side of the roof top tent myself... it's designed to have a bit of a gap between the roof and the walls and that would give you the height you wanted.
We have seen it done that way. We didn’t want to give up the covered space or have the bathroom in our living room. But friends of ours have it that way and they like it. Thanks!!
True. Our struggle is that the tent walls are short. Raising the tent is not hard. It will just leave a wind gap at the bottom. In the summer it’s not a big deal but at 30 degrees it makes for a cold shower. Thanks!!!
We could. But a lot of the tent would be against the trailer and the tent would be in the way of storage boxes. But it could work. We have made some other mods that are working well.

If you want ground up coverage to block wind (especially in cold weather) then the height of the product is crucial. Many times we have showered in temps below 45. That kind of breeze will ruin a shower quickly.
Still the same height, the roof top and blackout are the only plus side. Now you gunna be rubbing your head on the roof most the time in a smaller shower
@ i know but my understanding was the height issue described at the beginning of the video was the problem that the 23zero shower has that’s all, the darcge is a good shower foldout tent.
@@AirdownAdventures the Darche is taller. We had set it up touching the ground to limit air flow. The 23zero at the same top height does not touch the ground. It’s apples and oranges. I think the newer 23zero shower tents are a bit taller and come with a roof. We since have switch to the Joolca. Shower Cube. It is much taller and the height is completely adjustable. And it is made much better than both of the tents in this video.
@ the 23zero had no roof , exposed my head and feet and ankles. At least with the Darche I was able to be completely enclosed, but with the top touching my head.
Our idea is to have our shower tent protect from the ground to above the head. Avoiding any privacy issues and wind entering the the tent. Nothing ruins a warm shower like a 30 degree breeze.
Thanks for doing the research on that one and finding a great shower tent. Great video guys!
Thank you. We have been looking for a while.
Great product video. The Darche looks great! Greetings from the Netherlands
Thank you!!! We really like it so far.
@@TsarTrail Merry Christmas for everyone over there
That is a great upgrade. Open top shower tents have always been a problem for me. Great video.
Thank you!!!
Glad you guys are putting out regular content and wow what a cool shower tent. Thanks for the heads up
We are glad to be back. Thank you
Great info, we like that one!
Now I wish I had gotten the Darche shower tent. The blackout material and roof is a nice addition
That is what we thought too.
Thanks for the comparison and review. Is there more information somewhere on the swing arm mount? Is that a homemade or purchased from somewhere?

How do you think the joolca mounted en suite compares? It doesn’t have the light strip but I believe that it’s longer than this one

@@RebeccaTiffany1 we like Hard Korr lights. They have a 3’ strip that should work nice. We use a lot of their light strips.
@@TsarTraildid you get your Joolca yet? I’m bummer it didn’t make it to get it while it was on sale! I guess they are not doing a Christmas sale

Understand you have the swing arm, but what if you mounted it on the side of the tent. Looks like you’d get plenty of height then. Thanks for sharing.
That is a possible future mount location. There are access points on the trailer to consider.
Cool thing! Is the zipper on the car side a full lenght, so you could acess to a car door behind?
Yes that works
Damn , shower tent for $500 that insane.
Yep. It’s good quality but the price could be lower.

Do you need to adjust the height each time you unpack it? in other words, do you need to lower the walls before packing it in? thanks
