Clicked on this and thought this could be interesting, its a water with far to much pressure on it these days, a hand full of us where fishing it back in the 80s with some great results, it was probably the best kept secret in the pike fishing world at the time, then some one published a big fish off it and the whole country was on it with in a few weeks, so new pastures for us then,,,
It's my first ever trip there so i couldn't comment! I know a lot of other people caught on other boats that day, i assume its a very hard water to fish and having some experience on there definitely helps. It does look like it gets fished hard though, plenty of pike boats out on the water!
Lovely brown trout that. Your videos are brilliant. Not gonna lie though, breaks my heart seeing trout caught on pike or perch gear. I’m a purist and think trout should be could only a fly using a fly Rod and Reel. I appreciate it’s hard to cast a fly rod though and takes lots of practice to master genuine fly fishing and it’s much easier to launch a predator rig
Was a nice trout for sure! Not the target species but it was good that at least one of us caught. I'm hoping to get a lot more into my fly fishing this year but i'll also be lure fishing for trout a lot thats what i'm into really like spinners and crankbaits! Different people different methods don't they, i sometimes feel the same with people using worms for trout
Fishing is fishing my friend, lure or fly it is practically the same,I have seen many pike caught on fly to,as long as the fish is properly protected and handled correctly I see no issue 👍🏻
@@adventurefishinguk I get what you’re saying. Trout on worm baits is just wrong. There’s no skill involved in that at all. If you’re ever up Merseyside/North Wales way and want a days Fly fishing, I’d be happy to lend you some gear if you don’t have a fly rod and reel and take you on a days fly fishing. There’s a place just outside Southport and Preston called Mere Beck, excellent place. Fly only venue. Keep up the vids mate

i did not expect a trout to take that wow. awsome vid
Me neither! Glad you liked it and thanks for watching 🎣
I’ve never fished , I live on a fishing lake 🤣. My advice, you need to be calmer. And quite. A relaxed state of being will yield a better catch
Haha yeah you could be right!

@@japanesefishingadventures I know, mate. A hungry trout is a hungry Trout.
Why fish deep water? The pike will be in the shallow areas pre spawning.
I think we were mainly focused on not beaching the boat 😂
The fishing can be much better some people manage to catch 40
I don't doubt it, i've heard really good things about the venue. Just didn't have a great day then!
