WILL IT WORK? Trying to cut corners on my TVR Vixen oil change

A short foray into trying to cut corners when changing the oil in my TVR Vixen Race Car
But will it work?

You might try to prime the pump or at least introduce some oil into it to form a better seal on the impeller which seems to be operating in an air environment presently. That might help.

That was going to be my next effort. I think this is going to get messy!

Obviously oil is lighter than water so are you thinking that viscosity is the issue? Did you try it with a bucket of water later to determine whether or not the pump was faulty out of the box?

I think viscosity is the issue. I’m not finished yet with that pump!
