I truly enjoy this show, it lifts me up and reminds me that there are more terrific people in this world than the ones that create havoc. With that said I have to remark that this particular situation raises a slew of questions on the part of the homeowner and her kids. Seems to me that a car crashing into the house creating that kind of damage would have had to make a TON of noise and they heard nothing until the police banged on the door? I need to scratch my brain on that one alone.

    • @maureenmolleron747

A plane crashed in my front yard closer to me neighbor’s house than mine. She was asleep and heard nothing until the pilot climbed out of the plane and banged on her front door. By then I’d already called 911 because I’d been awake. The sound from the crash only lasted a second…easy for your brain to ignore when it’s sleeping.

Why didn't their insurance pay up properly? That wasn't really discussed and so does this let the insurance company off the hook? Which shouldn't happen because then it sets a bad precedent for the insurance company to not act in a timely manner.. They must sleep like the dead if they didn't hear/feel a car smashing into their house.

I agree. I was wondering the same thing. How the hell do you sleep through a car crashing through a BRICK WALL into your downstairs living room when there's an open staircase right there and your bedrooms are right above it? And what happened to the driver? Was he (she?) dead, still in the car? Did the person run away? How did the cops appear? Were they chasing the car at the time?

Some people are just very sound sleepers, for all you know they sleep with some sort off noise canceling things, because they sleep close to the road or they life close to a busy railroad or factory and are used to a lot of noise. I’ve been binge watching these for days but I have to say this is the first episode where I don’t think they were as ‘deserving’ as other people that needed rescuing. Their insurance and/or the driver of the car should have covered all the repair costs. If they didn’t have house insurance, that’s their fault!! There are families out there with ‘real’ challenges, cancer, death, disability, so much more. A lounge room that was technically still functional, it wasn’t a priority, different if they’d lost their kitchen?? First time I was actually disappointed with the choice of home, family and circumstances. Otherwise, George and team, you are amazing

I'm a big fan of the show but personally I didn't care for this episode at all. Too many weird things happening here. A knock on the door woke them up but a car crashing through the house didn't? That was a structural wall. The whole house must have shook when the car came crashing in. No mention of an engineer coming in. The upstairs possibly dropped as well as the roof from that wall being compromised. She couldn't find a contractor? I would have though her insurance company would have a list of contractors that they work with? When George was handing out masks from 3M to the subs they all looked at him like what??? Didn't care for the design or designer at all. And the son wearing sunglasses during the reveal. Very little excitement from the family. Something just feels very off here. Easy to explain: The car crashing in is a one-time noise that may temporarily disturb your sleep, but since there's no direct follow-up is easily dismissed as part of a dream, a figment of the imagination etc.
SUSTAINED knocking on the door and screaming over an extended period means that you continue to hear the noise after you wake up.

Did you even watch the video?? The homeowner explained about the contractors/insurance.

To Dominic's defense the homeowner's explanation only stated that the contractors were either unavailable or unwilling to help them out, and there was some talk about not working with insurance companies? There was no actual explanation on what was done in terms of liability for the damages.

I feel this episode was a fake one there is just something about the way all people involved the way the family acted the interior lady acted the things the home owner and the daughter acted the sone just sat there like I'm not saying anything toi bad we could not get the license plate number and run it to see who hit the house see the police report on this seems fishy to me maybe they will read all the comments and like oh no
Maybe I could investigate this it would be very easy to do its really strange how they said they kept calling the insurance company and could not get anywhere maybe the insurance company was checking there self they did not say if there claim got done or not so George got it done for basically free kick back the way they answered the door also and stood there I wonder if the insurance company paid out to them or not or if its still ongoing

The three teenagers look completely awkward and unsure, there's something off... They're basically just there so Mum can be at the forefront... And in the beginning scenes, both the girl and smallest boy look like they're about to cry. Something is very wrong here.
And, contractors that don't want to deal with insurance? Really?... WHY did they refuse to do it? There has to be a valid reason and they're not telling us.

Their response when seeing the completed project was very flat. I don't think they like it. I've never seen such a lack of enthusiasm on any of these shows.

i love this show but this is the first time the family threw me off... i cant tell if they simply didn't like the design or if they were hiding their emotions for some reason... I'm not saying they should fake overreact.... but they don't seem to be as grateful as they should be do deserve it...

That color scheme is awful. The design is so so. Nice exterior brick matching, though.

Another designer with no insight into the family or the residence. The focal wall is a horrendous colour; it's not appealing and doesn't fit the home. I hope the family repainted it.

Too many wall colors. Plum, beige, off white upholstered wall behind the TV. At least the drapes are nice. With only the one window she could have picked light colors.
