IIRC when C418 was going to release the Minecraft soundtrack as an album he included songs that weren't in the game to encourage people to buy the album separately
When I play Minecraft I always have this feeling what was the point of anything in the game? When you build a impressive structure but got no one to show. Having many diamonds without anyone to share. Achieving something without anyone to show off to. Will this Minecraft world will be just one of my forgotten piece of memories that no one will know of. I know im probably rambling nonsense but when i watched your video this is how I feel
I do a lot of building in Minecraft, especially in my survival world. I get that feeling sometimes too. Just the thought of maybe making something beautiful urges me to continue. I also like to think of it like I’m building for all the mobs in my world. Including the hostile ones. So that when I may disappear from that world forever, I might have built homes for them all to live in peacefully for infinity.
I know exactly how you feel. There are probably worlds Ive spent hours building on years ago that I dont even remember. My first minecraft worlds were lost since my ipod broke back in 2013😔
Find some people to play with you in your worlds, play in servers, minecraft has a huge community full of cool people to hang out with online, if you want to play bedrock with someone add me in xbox: FgameCorp Br
It’s all about setting up scenery that will likely never be occupied. Especially in single player, anything you build gets an eerie feeling about it, knowing you’re the only one who will ever use, see, or experience what you’ve created. It makes one feel incredibly lonesome.
I agree with the comments on the fact that 1:41 really gives the most "familiar/nostalgic" vibes. Because its something you could actually have done in your early minecraft days, a house made out entirely with oak wood, with all of those paintings in the walls, one of them hiding a secret room.
The house at 1:16 is one of the ones that gave me the biggest wave of nostalgia, so did the one at 1:34 since they look like the older versions of the game which is when I first started playing at a young age although for some reason the brick house makes me a little uncomfortable.
Yeah the 1:41 image seems vaguely familiar, like a base I would make with a friend at a sleepover. Something that we deleted shortly after or never saw again
im feeling big anemoia right now (anemoia is nostalgia for a time you never knew, yes i wasnt playing minecraft back then i knew about it since 2015, but still....)
I like to revisit saves that me and my friends worked on, but I always get an uneasy feeling when I'm there. Its strange seeing a base you built with friends being empty. I guess you could say it's kind of nostalgic. Revisiting an old world you played with friends on. You start to remember all the fun times you had there, but now you're all alone. Not meaning to be all "deep" or anything I'm just sharing my experience.
I feel like back in the day when people weren't as good at building and there was a very limited pallet of blocks to build from people were more symbolic in their builds. Most buildings were cobblestone boxes with a few windows and oak wooden planks for the floor, but nothing too advanced. Nowadays people almost seem to be less expressive while building with many more blocks, that's not to say though that all new builds are bad or anything but there are building techniques that nowadays everybody knows of which in some weird way makes them obsolete. Not sure if anybody can relate to this but I just felt compelled to write this
thanks for writing it. I enjoyed reading and I certainly agree with what you are talking about. perhaps there was a more abstract and intangible meaning to peoples old builds where as now days with so many building options as you say.. people can be so much more direct with their builds and their expressions. and in that way the old builds had more character, and left a lot more to the imagination... or maybe i just miss experiencing this game for the 1st time lol
@@kirianismaelsanchez9606 I remember how when i played the first time i thought the game had a secret lore and story mode, and Herobrine was part of that... It was dumb but it sure was fun. Imagine a mod that added features that bring that atmosphere back, but with new things like mobs and biomes, but all of that with the old atmosphere and style. Is that a good mod idea or i am just being insane?
i think ive found a good way to describe the feeling i get looking at this. Imagine you spent years of your life living in a completley different world and then one day out of the blue you wake up, realising it was nothing but a dream the entire time. Nobody belives you no matter what you tell them but you still sometimes have dreams of your old world but nobody is there. Its just breif flashes of a life you thought you had.
Didnt anyone else think that when we logged into a solo survival world, theres just more than building, beating the ender dragon, and being all powerful? I use to think I have to fight herobrine or some kind of secret entity to end the game entirely. Some place felt wrong but nostalgic especially with the fog back then.
Nicely done! It's amazing to give these games to kids for them to build whatever the creative buildings virtually. My brother also makes places with the aid of a game similar to this. Thank you! I'm also a fan of liminal spaces.
i didnt really feel anything but i do miss these old builds where people were just making whatever instead of trying to make super massive impressive detailed medieval castles that dont fit the games arstyle
This reminds me that I have a random bamboo bridge thousands of blocks away from spawn across a raveine, near a jungle biome. I have no idea where it is exactly but there was a pink sheep there.
For some reason liminal spaces just don’t really have an effect on me but I still think they’re pretty cool. I wish they affected me so I could fully experience it
thing is irl you can find a liminal space if it is not edited or created ect. but in minecraft no so it gives it even more mystery wich intreegs me even more and i love it but i also never really saw it and it creeps me out... but not in a bad way...
I just searched for old Minecraft screenshots, and picked the ones I thought resembled liminal spaces the most. And I used iMovie to edit. Thats pretty much it lol. 👍
What's the music? Pls
Jan Lewandowski Excuse by C418 (its from the minecraft soundtrack)
@@JackstarHere really? I’ve never heard this one in the game before, and I’ve been playing for a long time.
@@goldanimations4442 yeah, for some reason Notch decided some of the tracks didnt make it. I think he was gonna add them later on, but he never did.

Magic Melon I mean...most of the stuff I build are houses, windmills, etc
So I just think it’s for my player

its not??????
@posifcoolIt Is 😊
Your profile picture is liminal

For some reason that looks very similar to a base I saw in a herobrine hunt video.
I think most minecraft players have built something just like that at least once
Actually it did happen on my early days the blocks where just nether bricks tho
I have nostalgic only on this image, like i somewhere saw that, or has been here's, but idk about hiding secret room
yes omg i paused so fast i feel like i saw some youtuber with this home
0:27 and no one's gonna talk about vertical slabs here
yeah lol
1:41
Very very familiar

Me too, with exactly these pictures! I have the same feelings wow
Yeah, it felt something not from mc but it's there, in the game.
“Liminalcraft” should be a texture pack or a mod and i would definitely play it
True
The texture pack changes nothing it just says it does
I miss the old minecraft where me and my dad would just build a bunch of army planes that did not work.
This one is way more uncanny than the last one, i love it
We all had that one building back in the day we where to scared to go into
This video is awesome this one got me 0:33
Thank you your videos are awesome

Also the house at 1:34 gives off the same vibe
im feeling big anemoia right now (anemoia is nostalgia for a time you never knew, yes i wasnt playing minecraft back then i knew about it since 2015, but still....)
Void fog is the most nostalgic thing in Minecraft for me

Minecraft used to have a very unique aesthetic, like a pos apocaliptic world, but now it is more of a medieval fantasy game
I like the new Minecraft, but sometimes i play the 1.6.4 demo world because i like its emptiness.

One lesson that even the biggest people and companies still need to learn is that less is more.

the weird thing about this is that these builds were perfectly normal 10 years ago and now it feels alien

some of these remind me of places in half life and half life 2

Liminal Spaces...
its not the fact theres nobody in these images that make it feel off, its the fact that there were.

my friend:im know, this is our old house.....
I’m happy this song was not added in Minecraft beta and alpha the caves will be so scary also night and also I have a feeling a anomaly is behind me
i'm afraid to find out why we feel this way and about how humans work. i just wanna go back when i didn't care and had fun
I had the exact video idea with this music
